Turbo Snake

Works good, but difficult to use

4

The Turbo Snake is a stiff, yet flexible, wiry apparatus, covered in soft plastic. It has stiff bristles on one end that reminds me of a mascara brush. This is the end that goes down the drain and then you are supposed to spin/twist the snake around to gather the hair clog. Now, I just used this product for the first time today, as my tub/shower drain was running slow. I have one of those drain plugs that you pull up or push down the stopper. So, I tried to thread the snake down the side of the stopper into the drain, but it only made it a couple inches. There was a lot of hair in the drain, so I am not sure if that is what prevented the snake from going down further or if the stopper was in the way or what not. The good news is that the brush grabbed onto the hair and I was able to pull it out. I had to repeat this several times, especially since the hair seemed to also be wound around the drain plug. I found it difficult to completely remove the hair off the brush on the snake and I wondered if that would make the product not as effective over time. The snake is also a little tricky to hang on to when twisting. Overall, it seemed effective at removing the hair, but with more work than I expected.

best 5 bucks ever

i love the turbo snake , when i saw the info commercials i thought it would be junk like most infomercials things , a year went by and i never bought it until we were at a flea market in harpers ferry wv and a guy was selling them new for 5 bucks , i figured it was only 5 bucks , so i bought it took it home didn't use it for months then the  bathroom sink clogged , i figured it was the moment of truth and tried it , and this thing does what it says , i removed a ton of hair with no hassle or taking anything apart. since then it has removed another clog in the bathroom and one in the kitchen a few weeks ago , it was the best 5 bucks i ever spent . cleaning it can be tricky but i just wipe it with a paper towel and get the hair off .

Really does take out gunk from sinks and tubs

I bought this product for our college apartment at Bed Bath and Beyond. Being in an apartment with four girls( with long hair). Hair ends up everywhere, the carpet, the vacuum brush, on pillows and especially the sinks and showers. I just purchased it just in case, we got our sinks and showers clogged. We have lived in our apartment for 2 years, we have had to call the plumber a few times and it was getting too costly. So one day the shower was so clogged the water was above my ankles. So I gave the Turbo Snake a try, It was compact and conveniently under the sink on the little hook it comes with. I uncoiled it, which was easy to use, did the twisting motion once I got it in and pulled out. It was so gross...a bulk of hair the size of a tennis ball came out of the shower drain. The water went down very fast after that. And it took me less than 30 secs to do it. The only thing is that it can be tedious and hard to clean the brush end. Other than that it does do what it says it does very well and fast.

Great for slow flowing drains

Turbo snake does exactly what it is supposed to. I was pretty satisfied with the turbo snake, it does wonders on clogged and slow flowing drains.  All of our drains seem to clog up a lot, and nothing seems to really work for them, I've tried Drano and similar products, but I have never been too happy with it, first of all I dislike the idea of using harsh chemicals and second they hardly made any difference. The turbo snake is easy to use, but make sure you wear some gloves, because the things you pull out from the drain can be quite disgusting. We use it every four to six months just to make sure our drains stay clean  The quality of the turbo snake might not be the greatest but it does the job and for the price you can afford to get another one if its breaks, and its way less that what you would have to pay a plumber. So far it's been the only thing that has worked for out slow flowing drains and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The Turbo Snake cleans out the drains well.

I am a sucker for As Seen On Tv products. I always check them out and check reviews to see if they're really worth it. Well the Turbo Snake definitely lived up to what it said it did. I have long hair, so it's always getting clogged in the bathroom sink drain and in the bathtub, so I definitely needed to find a solution rather than sticking fingers and random dranos and whatnot down the drain to clear it. I gave the Turbo Snake a shot on my sink in the bathroom and in the bathtub and it definitely brought all that hair back up and whatever else was stuck down there. I am very impressed and it was worth the money. They are bendable to get into the toughest areas and they also have a velcro like substance on the top for the catching of the clogs. They are easy to use and found virtually anywhere that there's an "As Seen On Tv" section. Stores have even put these down on a discount lately. And if you know someone who needs something like this, they'd make great stocking stuffers especially for the price and how small they are.

Works where chemicals don't!

5

I have really long, course hair. And our water is extremely hard and gross. Chemical pipe cleaners work if we use them as preventative maintenance, but once a clog develops, there is no getting through. My husband went out and bought one of these when the chemicals weren't cutting through and were costing us an arm and a leg (just to get water down our drain). Miraculously...it works WONDERS! And even when we just have build up from our water, it works great on that sludge too! It can be a bit difficult to manage, but any trouble it takes is worth it based on my experience!

Turbo snake pulled the gunk out

4

I had a clog in my bathroom tub and tried all kinds of home remedies like the plunger and draino. both which seemed to loosen up the chunk of hair that had stopped up the pipe.  I then inserted the turbosnake spun it around a few times and and pulled out the most disgusting hairball i've ever seen. The only problem with the product is the cleaning. The tip is made of velcro and can never be properly cleaned

Works good on simple clogs

3

So we had the pleasure of trying this product out this weekend. Our bathroom sink clogged and we decided to try out the snake. Well it didn't work. The clog was really bad and we ended up having to replace the piping underneath the house. Well since we had this I thought why don't we try it out in the shower to see if it really works. Due to the clog in the bathroom sink I didn't see that as a reasonable shot for this snake. So we used it in the shower, and it did help speed up the drain! So if you have more of a simple clog I say this is a product to try. If it could be more complex I wouldn't waste money on trying this product.

No more need for liquid drain cleaners!

5

After frequent use of liquid drain cleaners to clear the bathtub drain, which can get expensive, my husband brought home a set of the Turbo Snakes.  He proceeded to use one in the tub drain, and retrieved a large clump of hair.  This was several weeks ago and we haven't had to buy one bottle of drain cleaner.  We are now able to take a shower without standing in still water, which is cold and disgusting.  How nice it is to clean out the tub and have the water just wash right down the drain, so that a shower can immediately be taken.  Thank you Ontel for a fabulous product!!
