I received a set of Tupperware Freezer Mates as a gift from a friend and I was intrigued to try them out. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. Tupperware is awesome and I own tons of it, but these were just not their best products. The containers themselves are of the usual high quality and are very sturdy and can hold up to anything you put into them - hot or cold. The issue I had was with the lids. The lids are just virtually impossible to get on and off. They fit very snuggly so it's really a battle to get them on and off when the lids are at room temperature, let alone when they are cold from the freezer! It is also very difficult to tell if they are sealed or not as they're oddly designed so you can't really run your finger around the edge and feel them click into place like normal Tupperware. What I do like about these is that the lids are designed very well so they do not chip or shatter like some cheaper brands do when you remove a container from the freezer and remove the lid. The lid stays intact. If you can get it off. I have since retired these and removed them from my collection. The difficulty with closing and opening them was just too much to deal with on an ongoing basis.

These are very pricey, BUT worth every penny! I love these containers. I know it's tempting to go buy cheap containers, but once your containers break 5 times, you begin to see why Tupperware is so wonderful! I use these ALL the time! I use the biggest one to store cookies in and the next size is perfect for a few cupcakes, or anything you have that is smaller portions. The flattest ones I love to store sandwiches and leftover pizza in. and I use the 3 smallest sizes to freeze fruit slush and other things like that! The very smallest ones are perfect for very tiny portions. I use these to put all my condiments in (onions, relish ect.) when we go camping and places like that! I love them, they are perfect! One thing to keep in mind is when you put stuff in them and freeze it, be careful as to not let it drop, I learned the hard way that the containers break this way! But never fear Tupperware replaces them :) 5 stars from me!!!

I've always heard about how great Tupperware products are.  So....when a friend of mine had a pary, I decided to go with the intention of purchasing a set.  In this catalog, the Freezer Mates set seemed to be reasonably priced for the amount you got in comparison to other things.  I decided to try it.  First of all, I must say that I am pleased with the quantity in the set and the various sizes that are offered.  The disappointment comes from the lids.  The lids are very hard to get on.  Once they are on, it's hard to determine if the lids are totally closed or not.  My husband has complained about this set since it was delivered.  We are using these in the fridge, not the freezer.  I'm just not comfortable enough with the lid closure to be sure food wouldn't be ruined in the freezer.  I know others that enjoy this set.  I'm not sure if we got a bad lot or what.  After purchasing this, I am not interested in purchasing other Tupperware.

Tupperware is a well-known brand that has been linked to quality for generations. I've not been happy with *everything* they sell, but mostly I've been satisfied. These little containers have held up for me for about 15 years. Finally, a year or two ago, one of them fell from the freezer and cracked. Shortly afterwards, one or two other of my Freezer Mates followed suit. So they aren't "lifetime guarantee" quality, but I doubt your Rubbermaid would last 15 years! I like that they stack in sets. It helps with storage in the cupboard when they are not in use as well as when I use them in the fridge or freezer. They have multiple sizes, from company size down to snack size. The lids fit snugly. But don't microwave them! That will ruin the seal. I love that they are dishwasher safe, too. I stick the lids for the smaller ones in the silverware basket that has a lid so they don't fall through onto the element in the dishwasher. If you want something that will last and has a shape great for neat storage--this is it!
