It's nice to have an affordable toothpaste that has all natural ingredients. I really like how it doesn't foam up in your mouth. That always makes me gag in other toothpastes. There are two problems with it though - it is extremely hard to get out of the tube. And second - my breath begins to smell as early as six hours after using it. Using Colgate, my breath doesn't smell even after 12 hours.

This tooth paste is horrible and an absolute sham at all natural. It contains the ingredient Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS ) or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). But instead of putting it in the natural order SLS the used SSL. Either way the harsh chemical is in there. This is the #1 cause of canker sores. I am a huge fan of organic and all natural, to better my health and the environment. With that said I have been using Tom's of Main for quite a few years now. But seeing how the company sold over to Colgate and ever since they switched from the metal tubes to the plastic, I had been meaning to switch tooth paste. I shop at Traders very often. So I decided why not try there tooth paste. The first time we used it my husband complained about the texture. I noticed it but thought who cares its all natural and its cleaning our teeth. But then I started getting canker sores and in the oddest places in my mouth. Needless to say I was freaking out because I try so hard to be health conscious I was unaware of where I went wrong. The first set of canker sores went away then a more ruthless set came in. ON MY TOUNGE! It killed to eat, my mouth just plain hurt. I needed to find out what was going on and FAST. While I was in the organic section of SHAWS I picked up a different tooth paste just in case. Then the next day when the pain become unbearable to talk, I did major research. I found the leading cause of canker sores tooth paste! The ingredient Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS ) or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). I still wasn't sure about TRADER JOES BRAND but then when I went into the bathroom and discovered my Kiss My Face toothpaste for sensitive mouth was SLS FREE, I read the Trader Joes ingredients and sure enough the last ingredient in different order Sodium Sulfate! So as I spent my wonderful Monday off researching with a mouth that I could not talk eat or drink, I realized the absolute need of reading ingredients. AVOID THIS TOOTH PASTE AT ALL COST!!!

  If you have never tried this tooth paste you HAVE to! The quality of a store brand it will leave you guessing what brand it this? Trader Joe's is a small chain as far as grocery's are concerned but, do not let the size of the chain determine the quality of the grocery's products! If you have not been to a TJ's and there is one in your area you are missing out in a top quality no fluff store that has top quality!          I go to TJ about ounce every 2 weeks and stock up there is not a location in my area and it is about a 70 mile round trip but, it is well worth it! Not to mention that there is a bakery right next door to this location in Charlotte NC that makes it all that much BETTER!!! So you shop for your grocery's step out and right next door is a bakery that not only serves fresh baked bread but, sweets as well as mixes like corn bread and cookies just waiting to be cooked ! This is a great place that caries a great toothpaste as well as other products!!!!

When it comes to toothpaste, I have been using the same brand for many years. I like the way it taste and the benefits it has for my oral health. But while shopping in my local Trader Joe's, I came across Trade Joe's peppermint toothpaste and decided to buy a tube. I have heard about other brands of toothpaste that contain all natural ingredients and how they are good for our health and the environment. So I figured why not give it a try. Now I know that some of these all natural toothpastes don't always taste the greatest or they have a gritty or hard texture. But I did not find this to be the case with Trader Joe's peppermint toothpaste. I found the texture of this toothpaste to be just like my prefered brand of tooth paste. The peppermint flavor was not too over powering either. After using this toothpaste, my mouth was left feeling very clean and refreshed. The price is a bit high but it is for an all natural product. I would definitely continue to buy this.

I don't like Trader Joe's toothpaste at all. It didn't taste good and it was VERY difficult to squeeze out of the tube. Since it was so hard to squeeze out, that meant the substance was harder than normal toothpastes. So such a solid toothpaste was not successful at cleaning my teeth, it only cleaned some of my teeth, and the rest fell out of my mouth like drool and into the sink. It was unavoidable each time that I used this toothpaste, I could never get a decent clean out of it. And no, I didn't continually purchase this product and have failure results each time. Althought it could have been possible that that was just from a bad batch of paste. I kept trying to use the first bad tube that I got, and it was still a hard substance. The thick substance is like... a banana.. but thicker. I thought the paste would get softer after the front part of the tube has been used, but it's STILL a thick unusable substance. So I had to stop using it and continue on with my Tom's. The only reason I tried the Trader Joe's one is because it's way cheaper. But it's cheap for a reason!

Trader Joe's Peppermint Toothpaste is truely a bargain when you consider the quality of the product. Made with all natural ingredients, no artificial sweeteners, and contains Fluoride. All you could ever want in a toothpaste plus great taste for about half the cost of similar products.

It took me a few uses to get accustomed to Trader Joe's Peppermint Toothpaste, because it has no artificial sweeteners in it.  Now, however, "regular" toothpaste tastes like drinking a liter of soda.  Trader Joe's Peppermint Toothpaste gets my teeth clean and freshens my breath without dumping a lot of strange chemicals into my mouth, which I appreciate.  This toothpaste also provides me with a nice scouring action without feeling harsh or abrasive.  I also really like the affordability; many natural products cost twice as much as their unnatural counterparts, but Trader Joe's Peppermint Toothpaste is competitively priced; it is great for those of us on a budget who also want to lead healthy lifestyles and who aren't quite ready to go to brushing our teeth with baking soda alone.  Now if they could only do something about the excess packaging (toothpaste in a plastic tube inside a cardboard box) ...
