Sturdy toilet and Quiet flush

5

We've had a Toto toilet in one of our bathrooms for several years now. It has a higher seat, which some people in the house need and like. Then we recently installed another Toto toilet in the other bathroom, to replace an old leaky other brand one. We installed the toilet ourselves and the process went fine (as easy as toilet installations go). The base is very heavy duty and sturdy. It has a rather quiet flush and uses less water. The flush handle it on the side, rather than on the front, which is a little weird for me to get used to. And the handle pushes down on the end closest to you, rather than towards the back. The lid on top of the tank doesn't have a lip that hangs over like some, so it actually sits flush with the tank. The height of the toilet has been good. The bowl has been easy to clean, too. It's a nice looking toilet and we've always heard great things about Toto brand toilets. Since we have two of them I can add my recommendation.

Best toilet around

We remodeled the two bathrooms in our house about a year ago and placed Toto toilets in both. (One is the Drake, the other is a different model.) The flush on these things is amazing and definitely worth the additional expense. The older toilets that we took out of the bathrooms were becoming clogged at least once a month. We've had these in our house for the last year, and one has become clogged once. (And this was due to a young boy playing with the toilet and toilet paper; considering how often he does this, the fact that we've only had ONE clog is a true testament to the flushing power of the Toto Drake!) We paid extra for their optional Sani-Gloss finish, which is supposed to reduce the number of times the toilets need to be cleaned. This, unfortunately, was a rip-off. If you are considering it, don't bother. I still found myself having to clean just as much as before. They tell you NOT to use bleach on it or it will ruin the finish, but within 6 months, I was left with no other option but to bleach.

Toto Drake Toilet saved my life

This toilet ils worth its weight in gold for anyone who needs something that is ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant.  Most other toilets are several inches lower and it is a real painful experience to have to stand from a seated position if you have bad knees or hips.  As soon as I learned I was going to have a hip replacement I went out and bought one of these and never regretted it for a minute.  Now that I have had this surgery I can say that I am in no pain and there is not a chance that I will reinjure that area.  Another great thing about this toilet is the fact that it saves on the water bill.  When this thing flushes it stays flushed -- it has tremendous power.   I'd also suggest that if you bought this for medical reasons you probably would do well to install grab bars as well.  It might be a little more expensive, but how often do you need to buy a toilet?  Spend the money!

MY TOLIET WAS SHOT SO I BOUGHT THIS BRAND. IT WAS ALRIGHT FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND THEN THE PROBLEMS STARTED. THE TOLIET TANK SEAL WENT BAD, THEN I WAS USING BATHROOM ONE NIGHT AAND LEANED TO THE SIDE AND A BOLT BROKE WHAT A SHAME AND PITTY I HAD TO TAKE THE TOLIET UP AND RESEAL IT. THEN THE TOLIET FILL VALVE WENT OUT I SAID ENOUGH IS ENOUGH AND I HAD TO REPLACE IT I JUST THOUGHT TO MYSELF THIS TOLIET WAS PROBABLY MADE ON A FRIDAY AT 4PM. NO QUALITY JUST MONEY AND COST EFFECTIVE IN MIND. PS SEAT WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE

Best toilet I've sat on in 62 years!!

I love the Toto Drake Series G-Max flush toilet.  It was easy to install and it flushes wonderful.  There is a nice size area of water in the bowl and the flush rinses all the sides really well.  It only uses 1.6 Gal. water per flush.  What a water saver yet flushes 100 times better than any toilet I have ever had.  The guts of the tank are rated to last longer than the normal ones you buy at Lowe's.  We will see-time will tell.  That is why we replaced the old short toilet.  We were constantly changing the insides and often found it running constantly and wasting our planet precious water (not to mention paying the bill)!  I love the comfort height (ADA handicap approved).  The "icing on the cake" is the soft close polypropylene toilet seat. You start to put the seat or the lid down and let go of it and it closes slowly and quietly--how nice!  Hey someone needed to be the first to review a toilet!!!  I love my Toto!
