I picked up the Toshiba Canvio Connect 1TB External Hard Drive to free up space on my PC. This hard drive is slightly bigger than my other storage devices, but it is still very portable and can fit in my pocket. I was able to connect this drive to my computer and within seconds it was available for use. I wasn't too thrilled with this hard drive being occupied by 70 GB of preinstalled software, but I was able to remove it by reformatting the drive. I found the transferring speed of large files to be faster than expected. I was able to transfer 5 GB of videos in about 2-3 minutes. Playing files directly from this drive is really smooth, but it isn't immediate. For some odd reason there is a 3 second delay for my media player to launch when playing files from this external drive. One thing I don't like about this drive is that the fan is very noticeable. There is also a constant clicking sound from the hard drive when my computer goes into sleep mode, but it stops once it wakes up. I would definitely recommend the Toshiba Canvio Connect 1TB External Hard Drive because it's a good storage device that has lasted several years without any incidents.
