make sure you put the correct address in. My husband put the wrong address in for a hotel and it took us to a bridge, underneath the bridge to boot. We use this GPS all the time, finds restaurants when we are traveling, hotels and neat places to stop and visit.

I've had this for several years and it has really been helpful. The trick with it is to plug it into your computer regularly and update it. I'm not just talking about the map updates that you have to pay for, although I suggest getting the map subscription. In addition you get GPS updates, which makes it much faster for the GPS to find and retain a signal. In addition, the mapshare corrections are great as they will fix problems that have been reported - say a road is marked as 2 way, but it's really 1 way. If you report it to TomTom, they'll check it out and push it out as an update. It just makes it a better experience.

**After having the a smaller TomTom, I waned something with a larger LCD display. I was willing to pay a price that would purchase a good GPS, in any brand name. When all was said and done, and I could have gotten more bells and whistles on some other higher priced models and name brands. This TomTom Go 730 was all I needed, and the price was great since they were coming out with another version. This GPS goes with me on any trip that is 10 miles or more from my home. Why? In my area of the country they are always working on the roads. you never know when your going to get stuck in traffic. When this happens, I get off at the next exit, then find an alternate way to get back home. There is a place I have to go to from time to time and I have always gone and come back the same way. The last time I left the facility to head home, my TomTom GO 730 told me to turn left when the interstate ramp was just ahead of me. I ignored the direction the first time thinking that it must have been a glitch. However, when I left to go home the next time, and once again it told me to turn left instead of going just a short distance in front of me to get on the interstate. I TURNED LIKE IT SAID. Wow, while the entrance ramp might have been right in front of me, you had to mearge onto the highway with another interstate coming from a differnt direction. It was always congested at this conjuction, and it was the worse part of the trip back home. When I turned like the Go 730 said to do, it took me around that conjestion while putting me on the interstate closer to my home. The 4 inch screen is easy to see, and the way it displays the lanes you need to take is great. The reason I gave it a 4, is because the TomTom company wants you to pay extra for many things that should be standard. Other than that, I say thumbs up.**

I just moved to Va. When I got here people were like you have to get a gps. I was at the time thinking how nice it would be to have one. So I went out and looked. My friends all had the tomtom and told look its the best one out there its a little bit more just pick it up. Well I ended up picking up the 730 and I cant say enough about it. If your like me and afriad of the techs that are out there. Trust me the tomtom is a easy unit to use. Its a touch screen and basicly the work is done for you. You really dont even need to read the directions its that easy to figure out. The 730 I have is the 4.3" screen and is so easy to read and follow. This gps unit is the best out there. There is never any lag. The routes are simple and easy to follow not to mention the features of being able to change any voice you want. You can even record your own voice and put it on there. This is one of the best electronic unit I have ever bought. I dont know what I did before I had my tomtom go 730 refurb.

I upgraded from a TomTo 125 because I wanted the larger screen and the bluetooth and music features.  Pros: I love the way the bluetooth works - it will stop the music for you when someone calls, it shows who is calling on the screen, and you can select who to call from the screen. It also automatically connects to my cell when I turn it on and I uploaded my phone book to the TomTom. The verbal directions are also easier to understand. Cons: I wish there was more space for music. I could only upload one album onto the device, so I'm looking at buying an SD card to put more on. There are fewer free choices of voices. Also, the feature that allows you to verbally tell the TomTom directions doesn't allow you to go further than city (at least I haven't been able to put in a street and number verbally).

I really like my TomTom - GO 730.  You do have to read the instructions and acquaint yourself with all the features, but once that is done, it is fairly easy to program.  You can customize your route to suit yourself including no toll charges, quickest route, or alternate route.  You can also find restaurants, hospitals, police, attractions, etc. along your route.  You can connect your TomTom to your computer and on the TomTom website your can receive updates.  The only problem I have ever had was when the route I wanted was not pulled up on my TomTom, but I think it was due to some satellite problem and when I got off to get gas I was rerouted to some other place.  Other than that one time, I have been very satisfied with my TomTom.

The TomTom Go 730 is one of the best products I have purchased in a long time.  I originally purchased it for my directionally challenged wife.  However, I have gotten so much use out of it.  I find by far the best feature is the points of interest information.  Whenever I go somewhere that I am not familiar I can find a gas station, place to eat, grocery store or whatever I need.  With three kids whenever we head out on a trip someone almost always has forgotten something and we need to head out to some store.  The TomTom makes it so easy.  I also love the reroute.  If for some reason the map is wrong or the streets have been changed you can have it give another route detouring around certain places.  This feature is also great when you run into accidents or traffic jams.   The only real problem that I have had is that you are supposed to be able to go online and update the maps for free but I seem to not be able to do it. Also they don't have any customer service number to get any help.  They only have their website and e-mail.  Which would be fine if they answered their e-mail questions.
