I also listened to local radio advertisement, announcing great local company with great prices. I made appointment and the salesman showed up the next day. Price offered was about double what a top company quoted, for a much better product. Salesman got testy when I advised that I was looking for a second quote. (always get a competitive quote for any home improvement or repair). Thompson also uses deceptive advertisement, giving the impression that if you buy one window, you will get one for free. However the second window installation only is free, not the window.

I actually bought a door from them and, waiting for it to be installed. So far, it has been the greatest experience all the way around. I would like to praise my salesman, Kevin Inman. He was absolutely delightful to work with. Very respectful, fun and totally put me at ease. I paid more than a couple of his competitors were going to charge me but, to experience such wonderful people, working for a company with such a great reputation, it is worth every penny. Hugely disappointing experience with this company. I did not actually mind the hard sell and the pitch book until we found out the sales guy did not know the product and the company does not deliver on the customer experience promised by the salesman.Our front door seems fine except that it has take four visits to make it right (the fourth is actually scheduled for two weeks from now) . this has taken way too much of our time and when we call customer support they just keep telling us they want make it right but still have not properly installed the door.The gap between expectation during sale and quality of experience could not have been wider.

I have used Thompson Creek to replace my old builder grade windows and just recently my gutters. I cant say enough great things about this company. They have high quality products and the customer service is unsurpassed. I love the double lifetime warranty, it really makes you feel like they care about there customers. Salesman top notch, installers top notch.  Office seems to have problems with getting the right work scheduled in a timely manner.  I ordered 9 windows on Aug 12.  8 were installed in October (two of those were ordered as picture windows but came as double hung)--they forgot to paint the 9th one so didn't bring it in October, but set a date in November for installation--which they cancelled due to rain--so they rescheduled for Dec 8.  On Dec 8, a painter arrived to "paint my window" which I have never seen.  He was sympathetic to the problem and spent hours consulting with other representatives (one came to my house to assess the situation with him).  Finally they determined the window was in the warehouse and said Customer Service would call to reschedule its installation.  They did not call--I had to call them 2 days later.  Numerous calls later (and lack of return calls), now, on Dec 17, they are trying to schedule my installation for January, which would cause me to lose the tax deduction!!!!  Not happy!!!

  I had Thompson Creek Windows replace the new windows I had bought about 10 years ago. I went with cheapest replacement windows back then and it was a waste of money. After hearing their ads on WMAL I decided to see what they could offer to save me money on my utilities bills. Their represenative came in and showed me that vinyl replacements are not all the same. Go figure!! My new windows now fit tight and the gas with in the two panes is keeping all the heat and cold out.    Thanks Thompson Creek for the best window and the great installers!!

Thompson Creek installed windows in my home a few years ago.  After the new windows were in, I noticed that it was a lot quieter in my house.  I couldn't hear the outside noises that used to bother me before they replaced my windows.  My electric bill is lower, and my house is more comfortable.  Before I replaced my windows, the summer heat used to make my dining room and bedroom very warm.  Since I've replaced my windows, I don't notice the temperature fluctuations in my home from room to room. Thompson Creek worked efficiently to install my windows in one day.  They cleaned up everything, and were very professional throughout the project.  Everyone that helped me was extremely courteous and helpful.  I highly recommend Thompson Creek to anyone looking to make improvements to their home.

I found out about thompson creek windows from my neighbor who had work done. Knowing how careful they select people to work on their home, I felt confident having them out for an estimate on replacement windows. I was prepared for a hard sell, but I was blown away by just how professional the salesman was and even more blown away by the price. The windows were priced about the same as other companies I got quotes from but I felt ready to make the purchase from thompson creek because of their service and A+ BBB rating. The installation went off without a hitch and I was especially impressed with the clean up after the job. My home was spotless and I couldn't even tell they were there aside from the great new windows! I will work with them again for sure!

Well, I must say that I am guilty of being very skeptical when it comes to home improvement companies. Who hasn't been burned at least once before? If there is one thing I've learned is that every review, be it positive or negative, does not mean squat until you see what that company has done for you specifically. Buying replacement windows is no exception. You have to do your homework and get several quotes if you wan't to be happy. With that said, I settled on Thompson Creek Windows in Landover, MD. Like all the other companies, they claimed energy savings, easy maintenance and cost savings over other brands. Now, these are vinyl windows and I actually prefer vinyl for their ease of maintenance. Some people swear by wood, but I swear by never spending another brutal August day scraping and painting my windows! The rep showed me a comparison chart on how efficient the windows would be in our region. After sitting through several window appointments, I almost consider myself an expert now and I could see how their numbers stack up to the other brands. I settled on Thompson Creek because of their warranty, energy savings and because they are manufactured locally. I believe in buying local whenever I can. I also like the fact that if there ever is a problem, I can easily drive to their office in Landover and get it taken care of by real people, not some call center in India. They promised a 30% energy savings and so far this winter, I am tracking at about 27% less energy used than the same period last year. Last year was not as tough of a winter, so I am going to keep track of it this summer as well. If this keeps up year to year, this savings will easliy cover the 10 windows I bought. So far I am quite happy and I would recommend that you at least have them out for a quote, the information I gained from their one hour presentation would be quite useful no matter who you buy from.
