The spray bottle caps don't twist off without damaging in order to refill!!! Therefore there is waste product!!

Getting ready to sell my house and I needed something to clean the rust stains off my vinyl siding after years of watering the lawn with well water heavy in iron and manganese. No scrubbing necessary. Just sprayed it on and walked away. Came back later and the rust had disappeared. A couple of touch ups on the heavier spots and the siding looks like new now.

I clean homes and business and I have used pretty much every cleaning product I've come across with many mixed results. All the products promise great results and not all of them deliver on said promise. The works line of cleaning products absolutely work wonders on lime, rust stains and nasty build up with little effort after application. I have cleaned some pretty rough bathtubs and sinks that had really bad stains from hard water or rust and after using other products the stains were mostly still there even After using a stiff brush and lots of work. I like that the works only needs to be sprayed on and let sit for a few minutes to dissolve the stains. It literally turns the rock hard build up to a slime that can be wiped or rinsed away. It is a very strong chemical smell, but it's worth using once in a while for when there is build up. I don't use it every time I clean but I use it every now and then to reduce the build up. The works also makes a toilet bowl cleaner that works the same. I have seen toilets and tubs so bad it seemed like there was no hope for ever removing all the stains and after the works they are totally free from the yucky stains. Most cleaning products can't remove hard water and lime scale like the works. The only draw back is the very strong smell and it's not pleasant but I can deal with it because it doesn't need to be used a lot and once every few weeks of use isn't bad. I hate scrubbing stains so this is great for me. Spray it on and leave the room for a few and wipe it away and the stains are gone. O wouldn't recommend standing over the product while it sits because it probably isn't good for the lungs! I don't mind using it but some people can't get past the smell but I think the stuff in it that smells bad is what works so well. You have to pick and choose your battles with cleaning products! It is easy to find in most stores and is very cheap and effective. I will never go back to scrubbing and breaking my back on stains.

Well, The Works is a brand that really does work I think and is able to get even the toughest of stains clean. I used this product a few times on my giant tub and tiled shower. I did notice that it was able to remove the soap scum build up and leave things looking pretty good, but boy, this stuff is honestly just toxic smelling. I'm not sure what they use in this product, but it just cannot be good to be breathing in or really it can't be that great for our fixtures. I did one time accidentally spray this so that it got on the faucets, and either I let it sit on too long, or this product is just not meant to be in contact with hardware like that, but it did discolor my faucets and leave a funky residue behind. Overall, I think this might get the job done, but probably because it's SO strong and harsh. I think there are many other products that exist that can perform just as well without being so strong and toxic smelling.

The Works Tub and Shower Cleaner was actually recommended to us by our plumber. We have a high amount of lime build up in our bath tub/drains from our water. We had a plumber out to clean the drains, and he told us to use The Works, as it is a great product to take out lime stains, and will help clean the drains as it rinses down the drain. I was not familiar with the Works at that time, but it has been around for over 50 years, so I decided to give it a try. I was amazed at the shine on my tub, shower handles and even faucet. We often have a white build up on the nozzles, it took all the mineral build up off, and with weekly use, it has stayed off! This Works Tub and Shower Cleaner does the work for you, I spray it, allow it to sit a few minutes and the soap scum/ hard water stains wipe off easily, you do not have to scrub harshly and take the chance of damaging the finish. This is a great, inexpensive product to tackle soap scum and hard water stains.

I am a big fan of The Works from the first time I tried it I was sold and I have used it ever since. I use it very liberally on just about every surface in my home, and it will clean it all just like new. Performance I have not found anything that it does not work on! It removes ink stains, rust that has been set in my husbands clothes, they just disappear! It works like magic on my 5 year old daughters grass stained pants, and my 9 year old sons white football pants and jersey. It takes out those old set in mildew stains that no other cleaner would remove I have used it for other things in my housekeeping jobs, like getting up carpet stains, marker stains on the walls, it even lifts greasy oily stains that have been on the items for a while. I use it for everything. Scent This is my only complaint about the product, it will cause me to start coughing when I have spent a long day of cleaning house. I would say the scent is not plasent but that is a small price to pay for this exceptional cleaner.

This product DOES for for removing rust, soap scum, and hart water build-up. HOWEVER, PROTECT YOUR AIRWAYS! You need to wear a mask to breath in the space! The small spray particles linger in the air and they sting all the way down your windpipe as you try to breathe in the bathroom. I used a ventilator fan as well and that made the particles fly even worse. I covered my mouth and nose with my shirt to try to breathe, but still had to leave the bathroom to catch a breath. I'll stick to vinegar and baking soda and a little extra elbow grease for my tub cleaning! Scent I couldn't decipher any pleasant scent since I was struggling to breathe while using this!

**The Works Tub & Shower Cleaner  **is one product that I really wanted to work.  The manufacturer claims this product 'removes stubborn rust stains; mineral deposits and soap scum in the bathroom'. The 'unique formulation is suppose to work great on showers, tubs, sinks, stainless steel and shower doors.'  I agree that The Works can do an adequate job on lightly soiled items.  Our tub has always been difficult in removing the ring after bathing.  I didn't need a cleanser for a light job.  Have so many products that can acheive this.  The Works also list a long list of precautions on the back of the label..such as but not limited to not mixing with bleach or other household chemicals.  It is bad for your eyes and you must definitely keep out of reach of children.  Being that this product did not acheive even mediocre results, I do not recommend.  I will not be buying again.  I have since found a very strong product which can do the job I was seeking. Performance Not recommended for highly soiled areas. Does not take the ring out of the tub

I have used The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner for as long as I can remember.  It works better than anything else I have ever tried. I first tried The Works years ago because of the price.  Being a bargain shopper, I tend to try the best priced products first.  I'm so glad I did.  I still have not to this day found anything that works better, other than acid! I think a lot of shoppers might pass this product over thinking it's just a low cost generic cleaner because it doesn't have a fancy label or a lot of advertising connected to it.  If you give this a try, I think you will agree, it cuts through the toughest dirt and stains.  We have well water and the hard water and iron can be pretty tough on the toilet bowl.  As soon as I squirt on The Works the stains immediately disappear and with a little scrub with the toilet brush the toilet is as good as new. The Works does not give off an overwhelming amount of fumes, but you do have to take care to not get it in your eyes.

We bought this new house only to find out that our well water had a significant rust problem when the water softner was not set properly. We got the settings right and the water clear, but were left with some very tough rust stains in our bathtub and toilets. The bathtub was the worst. We tried mutiple products to get it off. Most would make it a bit better, but nothing returned the bathtub to white. We then found the Works tub and shower cleaner and it really does work. We sprayed it on, let it set a little and then scrubbed the tub with the srubbing side of a scotch brite sponge. The rust started to disappear! It did take two applications, but we finally got rid of the rust stains. This product does work on stains and tough cleaning situations. I wouldn't recommend it for more uses than those only because it seems like a pretty harsh chemical cleaner. The odor itself about knocks you out and certainly makes you wonder what it's doing to your body when you breathe it in while cleaning! I advise opening all the windows in your house when you use it - seriously. It works, but perhaps at a cost. THe bottle also didn't spray very well.
