A life saver

I love this booster seat! It is meant to be portable and folds up nice and small which makes transporting this seat so easy. A good friend bought one to send to the baby sitter for her son. I saw it and bought one immediately. I love to take it to restaurants. I don't have to use the disgusting and germy high chairs that most restaurants have available. I just take this one with me. It is fairly easy to attach to the chair and my son straps in easily. This chair can be used with fairly young children. My son is now sitting up and he can use it with supervision. My friend has an 18 month old and he can still use the chair. This is also nice to take along when visiting. Sturdiness This is by no means the same as a wooden or hard plastic booster seat. I would never leave a child completely unattended in this chair, but it is very safe. The seat straps around a dinner table chair. This seat does not have sides to it, but there is a harness that straps around your child. Durability This seat has straps that and plastic clips that will certainly wear out with time, but with care, the seat will last for a long time. You can also wipe the seat clean after each use. Design This seat is definitely meant to be a portable seat. I think it is sheer genius. Safety I would never leave a child unattended in this chair. However, the harness keeps the child nice and snug and with supervision this chair is perfectly safe. Ease of Cleaning The straps can be a bit of a hassle to clean because there are so many. I wipe the seat down after each use and that keeps the seat nice and clean. The seat and harness wipe down nicely.

Best booster chair!

I cannot say enough good things about this booster chair! It is the best! It is very lightweight yet comfortable for the little ones to sit in. It easily straps to kitchen chairs and fits securely. I also think this is very easy to clean, you simply unzip it, take out the cusion and throw the rest in the washer. I put mine in the delicate cycle on both my washer and dryer and it comes out looking like new every time. This is nice, because the kids can really make a mess! Also,l love how convenient it is to travel with. It folds easily and then we can just pack it up in the car and it takes up very little space. I think this is a must have for any parent! It is such a space saver and very easy to store and put away.

The first years booster seat is nice but not perfect

We registered for this item thinking it would be one of those things that we wouldn't be able to do without. It is nice to have for those houses that are really not baby friendly or at nice restaurants that don't have highchairs. But honestly, It isn't a "must have." I find that it doesn't give much of a boost for my son and he is still too short to really reach his food well. It doesn't have a tray which would be fine if it were taller. It is nice that you don't have to blow it up or wrestle too much with it to get it set up. It is very self-explanatory unlike so many of the baby items that are out there. But it's only real function is that it keeps the kid from getting down and running around the place when you are trying to eat! One thing that I should mention is that I have a wiggle boy and I think the straps should be able to lock in place or something. As the design is they can loosen.

I really enjoy using the First Years On the Go Booster Seat. It is very compact and easy to use. It is also very easy to clean. The bottom is easily inflated and deflated for easy storage and proper table height. I use this for my disabled three-year-old daughter. She is unable to sit still for any length of time, but she is does not fit comfortably into a high chair. She is also is too short to be able to sit in a normal chair and eat at the table. I bought the First Years On the Go Booster Seat for her to use all the time. We are able to use it at our table daily, and we also bring it with us everywhere we go. It is so simple to use. I have noticed no flaws with this seat. The straps stay in place securely, it inflates to a great table height, and it is extremely light-weight. The shoulder strap is also helpful while traveling as I usually have my hands full with my five kids. I really enjoy the First Years On the Go Booster Seat and look forward to many more years using this seat.

The First Years on the Go Booster is good for travel!

The First Years on the go booster seat was a hand-me-down item that is useful for traveling. Particularly, anytime we needed to pack up a suitcase between the baby's 8th month until 18 months, we brought this with us. It provided a safe place for us to feed the baby in hotel rooms or friends' houses. It is easy to clean by wiping down with a damp cloth. The self-inflating seat cushion is a fabulous feature; it deflates to become compact for storage/travel. There is a carrying strap as well! We also have the Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster that we use at home, but the First Years Booster was much more compact for travel. Now, we keep it in our car in case we end up at a restaurant that has no high chair. The main disadvantage is that the material is a bit flimsy, so our active baby would sometimes tip over in the seat. In addition, like any strap-on booster seat, you must make sure the chair fits the booster and that the chair is sturdy enough. The straps can loosen, so you must keep a close eye on your baby!

A Must-Have

I put this item on my baby registry when my husband and I were expecting our first child. Someone at my place of work bought this item for us and it has been indispensible! Our son was VERY active from an early age (rolled over on day 2 of life, crawled at 5.5 months and was walking at 8.25 months of age). Because our son was so active so early he has been a fairly lean, muscular baby. Because of his stature it is hard to get him to fit in a resaurant highchair without him wriggling free. This booster is fully adjustable and we can pull him in close to the table or away if we don't want him to grb things he shouldn't. This folds flat enough to carry into a restaurant without a problem and self-inflatesonce unzipped. This was an excellent choice for us because we aren't having to sanitize a restaurant highchair. And we have more control of the security and safety of our child. The bottom strap is great, but the top strap could loosen from frequent movements so keep an eye on it.
