The kids and work keep me busy most of the day so I need a workout that optimizes my time. The Tempo Fitness 620e elliptical trainer does this by providing full body workout that exercises both the arms and the legs. I have tried step machines and treadmills before but I find that ellipticals are easier my joints. The 620e is quiet, smooth and relatively compact. It has 10 training programs including manual programming. There are 20 levels of magnetic resistance (magnetic resistance tends to be a lot quieter than tension belt resistance and can be controlled electronically via the control panel). The bright LCD display indicates the progress of your workout by showing calories, time, speed, distance and resistance level. The 620e also has a grip sensor that can be used to check your pulse, but it takes about 15-20 seconds to take my pulse which seems to be an unusually long time to me to perform this function.
