I have been feeding my two rough collies Taste of the Wild Sierra Mountain Canine Formula for well over a year now. Both dogs love the food and I love that it is grain-free and contains taurine which is an ingredient that the FDA says is lacking in most grain-free foods. It can be a little pricey, but I feel that the high quality ingredients are worth it for my piece of mind. My dogs are worth spending on. If we can't treat our fur babies to the best, what is the point? *I purchase this food on my own. I was not obligated to write a review.*

This food is awesome. In my honest opinion, it is the best thing I've ever come across; it just has everything going for it. For starters, I'm a starving college student who can barely afford to feed herself, let alone a large-breed dog (I didn't ask for him, he just showed up one day and through a long series of events, I ended up saving his life and now I'm stuck with his too cute self). Anyway, I like to treat my dogs like family and I wanted to feed him the best food I could afford. After tons of research, this line of food turned out to be as good as the Blue Buffalo Wilderness I considered giving him, but at a fraction of the price. Now I don't have to choose which one of us gets to eat each month! Even better, his coat is beautiful on this food. He looks so good, I was able to provide my mum back home with enough evidence to switch our other dogs off of the garbage that is Iams. He is energetic and lively and seems to be in very good health as are our others. This whole line is great for our allergy-prone pup as well as it is grain-free and, because we can rotate through the different flavors, she doesn't get a prolonged exposure to any particular protein source. I love this dog food! Quality of Ingredients The ingredients are exceptional. I find the food to be equivalent to other, much more expensive brands of food. Flavor Selection I love that I can switch the flavors of the food and all the different healthy bacteria found in it. Even better, my dogs seem really healthy and happy on it. My rescue pooch enjoys it so much when it comes to dinner time, I hide his food in the house and he derned near flies around the house trying to find it. Of course, he smells it near instantly, so it is not a long flight, but amusing nonetheless. Even my picky eaters love it though, so I am pleased with it.

Taste of the Wild has come out with a new flavor of food for dogs, it's their Sierra Mountain Canine formula which includes Lamb and Rice. Like all Taste of the Wild, it is an "all stages" dog food. Being that it is a lamb and rice formula, this is perfect for dogs with allergies. It contains no grains and uses purified water to make it's products which is an added bonus. I started giving this to my puppy who has allergies causing extreme itching to the point of all of his hair falling out. Both of my puppies enjoy the taste of this food and eat with intense jubilation. One thing to keep in mind, however, is to remember that although it is an "all stages" dog food, your puppy or even senior dog may be missing some of the nutrients it needs. I found this to be true for my puppies as they started eating just about anything they came across on our walks. So I started supplementing other homemade foods to help balance this out until they are out of their puppy stage.
