My husband and I used to use this deep fryer all the time. It was great to heat up food quickly and gave all of the food we put in it a nice golden brown crust to it. You have to learn about how long certain items need to be fried, but once you get it down, all of the food comes out wonderful! It is a pain to clean, but most deep fryers are. All in all it was great while it lasted in our family- we had to make ourselves stop using it so we could actually get in shape! Performance It always fried my food very well. It cooked everything thoroughly and leaves the outside nice and crispy. Ease of Use Super easy! Just pour in the oil and wait for it to heat up. Put food in the basket, wait for it to cook and then pull it out. Durability Our deep fryer lasted quite a long time. It probably would've lasted longer but we had to stop using it because we needed to diet after all the fried food! Ease of Cleaning Deep fryers are always difficult to clean, but that comes along with owning one.

This is a nice little fryer; nothing exceptional, but it gets the job done. It's definitely cheaper than other deep fryers, which is why I bought it, although I bought it at around fifty bucks instead of 37 as listed on the site (looking online, it seems to be around fifty at most places as well). Given the price tag, it looks and works a little cheaply, but the main thing is that it gets the job done. It's pretty small, so it doesn't take up a lot of counter space, but on the flip side it doesn't hold as much as others. It's easy to clean, because it's dishwasher safe. The oil also heats up pretty quickly, which I wasn't really expecting from this kind of cheap appliance, but that being said you don't get a lot of options for temperature settings. My only complaint is that the cord is kind of short, so on the counter there's not a lot of options for where to put it, but that's just a minor problem.

Who doesn't love fried food? My family certainly does. But, I hardly ever fried any food because of the messy oil splatters you get all over your stovetop, the counter and sometimes even your clothes. And half the time I would end up burning myself. So, one year I noticed my parents had a countertop fryer and I asked for one for Christmas. They bought me the T-Fal and I'm in love with it. I love how it has the basket that goes up and down and hangs on the edge to let your food drip for a minute before you transfer it to the plate. I love the fact that it heats up rather quickly and the outside of the fryer doesn't get hot. I agree that the T-Fal Cool Touch would be better if it had a built in timer, but that's just one more thing to break on it, isn't it? Having the T-fal around is like having hot, fresh food straight from the restaurant kitchen, with only a fraction of the price.

When I was growing up my Mom always put shortening in a small pot on the stove and fried foods like that.  I have always done the same thing.  I got the T-Fal as gift and when I finally used it I couldn't believe I'd waited so long!  Having a lid that closes keeps grease from splattering all over the stove and counter which sure makes clean up easy!  The outside of the unit does stay cool so you can move it around while it's frying without getting burned.  There is an inside basket that lifts out so you can dump the food.  There is also a lip on the basket to hook it on the edge of the unit so the grease can drip off the food.  I also like the temperature gauge that changes from red to green when the oil reaches the desired setting.  So far I've only used my T-Fal for french fries but my next try will be pork chops. The only drawback is that whole unit is fairly large so it takes up a good amount of countertop space when you're using it and a lot of space in my cabinet.  The handle folds down so at least you don't have to worry about the sticking out.
