A little rough on the knees.

3

I used this "Sunny health and fitness ab roller slide" at my mothers house a couple of times. I have been trying to tone up my body and lose some weight. After having kids it almost seems impossible. With this ab roller slide there are a couple things to keep in mind. One thing you have to remember is that it takes some time. You have to keep using this product consistently for it to work. You also have to eat healthy and keep up on exercise. My personal experience with this product is mediocre. I am still undecided about how I like it. It is a bit rough on the knees and back. You may have to put a pillow under your legs for comfort. As for people with a bad back, I would not recommend this ab roller slide. This product puts a heavy amount of pressure on your lower back. What I really like about this ab roller is that after using it you will feel the burn in your abs so you can actually feel it working! And I must say it is a much better alternative that the normal floor crunches.

Loud and Hard to Control

2

After seeing a similar model on an infomercial I purchased the Sunny Health and Fitness Ab Roller Slide knowing that it probably would not work. When it arrived I was pleased that it was very sturdy and felt like you could use it as intended without breaking it. It's certainly not a cheaply made product. I must say that I'm fairly fit but my midsection certainly lacks strength, so I figured I could use this without any problems. Unfortunately, while I found it to be a surprisingly good ab workout it also had the downside of being rather tough on the wrists and hands. The angle you have to keep them at to properly use the roller is just not a good one and I found my wrists aching as much as my abs the next day. I also found this a bit difficult to control when using it on hardwood floors. It's virtually impossible to use it on carpeting but it's really annoyingly loud when you use it on a wood floor. It sounds like roller-skates which becomes irritating very quickly. Overall, this works okay and is a sturdy product but I really don't think it's necessary and traditional ab exercises are probably a better bet.

Hurts your back

4

We bought this ab roller just to tone our mid sections. I felt like it was a good concept and loved the fact that it was small and compact. It fit nicely in our closet so it was out of sight and easy to put away. After using this ab roller for a few weeks my back really started to ache. I felt like it did tone my abs, but I was not willing to have toned abs for the price of ruining my back. I had to stop using the ab roller. Since then I have been doing other ab exercises without using a machine (sit ups, crunches, burpees, etc.). I feel like these are just as effective and don't kill my back like using the ab roller did. Although a great concept, I would not recommend using the ab roller because of the painfulness it caused my back. It is "easier" on the abs since it's a rolling motion which I guess is the big plus of the equipment, but the aching of the back in my opinion is not worth the "ease" of the rolling.

These do a great for arms and okay for abs.

I bought one of these for my abs and was surprised to notice I got more out of my machine for my arms than I did my abs. One thing I can say about this though is that for me, I felt that someone much heavier than I am would have a hard time using this or may even break it. I was around 180 pounds when I got mine which is heavy for a woman my size. I felt like at first the real workout was in my upper arms holding myself up and pushing myself up and down with the roller. It took me several months to really feel anything in my abs. I think the reason for me is that because I had so much excess fat on my stomach, my abs weren't able to get much of a workout. I also think me being so out of shape contributed to me seeing more help in my arms than abs at first. Now I can do this roller and feel a true burn in my abs. I started out in female pushup position using this. Now I can actually get into a male pushup position and use it. I'm down to almost 130 pounds and I get a lot more out of this machine since I've slimmed down and am more limber and able to use it. I think this works best for someone who is already in okay shape and not just beginning but that may have just been my situation.

Sunny Health and Fitness Ab Roller Slide

3

I was fascinated with this new way of exercising when I first bought it. I thought the Sunny Health Fitness Ab Roller Slide was going to give me a new approach to my usual workout routine. I discovered there was some assembly required when I first opened the box. It only took a few minutes to install the handles on the sides of this device. I found the portion where you place your hands was good size and had a non slip grip area. The instructions on how to use this roller were clear and concise. Using this roller in the beginning takes a little getting used to. I found it difficult for me to control the direction and speed at which the roller moved when I pushed it away from me. I also discovered that it is not a good idea that the roller be used on a carpeted area. The roller mechanism underneath acts like a magnet for all types of hair, dirt and lint. I found it hard to keep this area clean so it would move freely. This device comes with a small area pad that the roller rests on when you are not using it. I see no purpose for actually having this though. I found the roller to be slightly noisy too. I did not see any effective, positive results while using this device. Is it worth the money? Not in my opinion.

A decent ab workout

4

My husband and I owned this product in college - just a "few" years ago.... because he was, and is, the king of informercials. If there was a workout or cooking gadget "AS SEEN ON TV" - i'm pretty sure we owned it. So, we bought the Ab Roller. I'm not really sure this would fall under the category of weight loss product, but it did provide a pretty effective ab workout, if used properly. Basically, you kneel on the ground, hold on to each one of the handles, and sort of glide straight out and then let yourself glide back up to starting position, using only your abdominal muscles. In theory, it's a great idea. The novelty of it is exciting and something more fun than a basic sit-up or crunch. Unfortunately for us, the fun wore off quickly and we got tired of it - as with most of the other exercise gadgets we have acquired over the years. The other thing about this product, I think if you're not pretty careful, you can really hurt your back - so beware of that. It's decent, but I still prefer some good, old-fashioned crunches myself.

Good to hurt yourself on.

I got this and also got a video that uses one of these as I wanted to make sure I was using it right and could get the most benefits out of it as possible so that it could help me in my journey of losing weight and getting healthy. My abs are a trouble area of mine and I really wanted this to work and help trim some fat and add muscle to my midsection. Upon first use this is somewhat difficult to use, it is not that user friendly and it makes it hard to figure out but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty simple to do. As you go forward you can feel it pulling but it has so much resistance in this thing that when you have to come back it shoots you back way too fast and with a lot of force, and this hurt my back like crazy. I used this like clock work six days a week (one day of rest) for 8 weeks and took measurements every two weeks. Unfortunately no matter how much I used this product after six weeks the only result I saw was .5 inch loss on my waist, and that is just not enough for a difference for me to use a product like this that was supposed to help a lot more than it did.

I sure felt the burn.

I don't know if I was using this improperly but the burn i felt didnt feel like a work out. It felt like i strained every muscle in my body. The Sunny Health and Fitness Ab Roller Slide looked like a great way to flatten my stomach but the handles feel like they are going to snap off at any minute. I used it for a while and didnt see any results. I think I will just put this with all of the other failed equipment i have in my closet.

hard to get into

The ab roller was described as soemthing you obviously have to use to benefit from, but also something you really have to do correctly (As opposed to usual cardio where you'll benefit from any). I'm a rather thin person but would like to tone up and really gave this a go. I am always afraid to break it as you can hear the clicking when it's no longer rolling, and it's hard to know you're doing the excercise correctly when you dont have the stregnth to do it on your toes, but you dont feel anything if you're on your knees, so it's a toss up. i think the answer is to work on your upper boddy stregnth a bit before really reling on this machine. I will definitely give it another try as I have heard of good results and the price is certainly right. it's lightweight and comes with removable handles to help it be stored in a smaller space which is definitely a help. it may help me to watch a video of it being used

Not bad at all

4

I purchased this **Sunny Health and Fitness Ab Roller Slide **a couple of years ago and I have not used it for a while.  Because when I used it for the first time, it was too easy to roll back and forth and I did it more than 100 times and next day I could not bend over!  My stomach was hurting so much.  So I could not do any excise using this for a while.  And I totally forgot about the existence.  Recently, I found it under the table and started using it again.  Now I know it helps keep stomach tight.  I keep it around 50 times now, not 100 like last time.  I've learned the lesson.  Since then I think, I THINK, my stomach is getting tighter and tighter, which is good.  It is not hard at all, just do the exercise while I am watching TV.  It won't take more than 5 minutes.  Considering that, I think**Sunny Health and Fitness Ab Roller Slide **is not that bad at all.  However, I know we have better stuff out there now.
