ok I guess

I'm sure with someone else this machine would perform better. I have come to the conclusion that I am just not meant for making bread with a machine. I couldn't get this machine to make edible bread. First I would have never risen rock hard heavy hockey pucks. Then I would have this bread that looks like it was rising, but then I end up with a loaf of bread with this sink hole in the top of it. What is that?! So I'm sure it's mostly user error, but if the machine is so difficult to use then I half blame the machine. The whole point of being the machine was to make my life easier, this has done none of that. Stability While in Use I guess the thing was stable? It didn't rock itself off the counter. So there's a win for it. Performance technically it did perform, the thing turned on, did some bread making motions, heated up and cooked it. It just never successfully performed at making the actual bread. Ease of Use What ease of use? There was no ease of use. I could never get the bread to work out so that I got actual normal bread. Durability I can't comment to durability, I know it didn't survive very long in my house.

Does a good job

I have never had a bread maker machine before, I always made bread the "hard" way when my children were home and growing up. However, a friend of mines had received this and never used it, since she lived alone. She gave it to me and I really thought I would not use it much. It is rather large and takes up quite a bit of room on the counter, plus it is kinda heavy since I have to store it between bread making but I will say it does make good bread or dough. I use it most often to make dough for rolls, doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, etc. It is a whole lot easier and faster to just put everything in, turn it on and let it do all of the work of mixing and kneading and rising. I just take out the dough when the cycle is done and make my doughnuts or rolls or whatever. The beep that signals the end of the cycle could be a bit louder, I often don't hear it if I am in the other room. Also, the pan is a little hard to pull out and put in sometimes, especially if you are making a large recipe. I have spilled it into the bottom of the machine. All in all it does a good job though so I would recommend it.

Good basic bread maker

4

I received this bread maker from my mother about five years ago to replace one that I had purchased but broke with use. In the five years that I have owned this bread maker I use it, on average, once every other week or so. I have made homemade recipes, boxed bread recipes and pizza dough on many occasions. This is a GREAT basic bread machine. It cooks well, operates smoothly, is easy to clean and doesn't have so many bells and whistles that it overwhelms you. I only rated it a four for two reasons. The first is that it is loud. I think they are supposed to have some noise but this machine is LOUD when it mixes. The second issue is that when it cooks the mixing piece at the bottom of the pan comes out and bakes into the bread. It isn't a problem per se but when you remove the metal piece it leave an ugly hole in the bottom of your loaf. Aside from those two very minor issues (I don't mind living with either) I would definitely recommend this machine for the money. It's a great value.

Its a Good First Machine

I have been wanting a bread machine forever and just couldn't decide on one. There are some very high end models and of course very low end ones so I decided for my first machine that I would go with one in the middle. I have been overall satisfied with this machine. It mixes the dough thoroughly. It is very easy to clean and the little bread hook comes out so that the pan can be thoroughly cleaned. The machine is very easy to use which is so helpful since I have no idea where my set of directions has gone. It does bake the bread well but I prefer to use it just to mix. I have used it to bake in and it bakes well and evenly I just don't care for the actual shape of the bread. I guess we're too use to the shape of store bought bread. But it does make a good size loaf for nice big sandwiches if you do decide to just bake in the machine which is so much more convenient than take out the dough and dirtying yet another pan! I would definitely recommend this machine to others, but for someone who makes many loafs a week I would probably keep looking. For someone like me who makes one maybe two a week this is a great little machine and we are happy overall for our decision to buy it.

Sunbeam Bread Maker, one of the worst!

1

I bought this machine about a year ago and have never been able to get it to work. I have owned other bread machines and have loved the ease of making bread. My last machine I owned for about 15 years before I wore it out. Never a problem with it until it finally died on me. This machine makes me think every thing is going fine, it mixes just fine, rises, then rises again to a beautiful height, then just as it begins to bake it falls deeply in the middle. I bought new yeast, same thing. I bought new flour, same thing. I bought a different type of yeast, same thing, different type of flour, same thing. I finally e-mailed the manufacturer and was so happy that they promptly e-mailed me back that they were sending me another machine. When it arrived it was an Oster machine, but I didn't care as long as I could bake bread in a machine again. This week I tried my hand again, brand new bread machine yeast, brand new flour and yep, you guessed it. It rose beautifully only to fall as it began to bake and a new thing this time, it burned also. If I had never had success with breadmachine baking I would think it was just me but I give up on this company which is apparently one and the same as Oster. Stability While in Use It didn't wobble around on the counter. Performance Burned bread every time and bread would rise and then fall. Ease of Use Bread machines are very easy to use, now if this one would have just given me a nice loaf of bread.......... Durability Gave mine away so I have no idea.

Sunbeam Bread Maker, The End of Store Bought Bread!

5

I bought this bread maker thinking it would be used occasionally for sweet breads. Little did I know after my first taste of homemade bread, I would never go back to store bought. This machine is super easy to use. There are twelve cook settings including Basic, French, Whole wheat, Quick, Sweet, ExpressBake (1.5 lb.), ExpressBake (2.0 lb.), Dough, Jam, Cake, Sandwich and Bake. It has three crust color options (light, medium, dark). It has a delay timer for up to 13 hours, so you can have bread ready when you get home from work. You can use the dough setting to make your dough for things you bake in the oven such as rolls or pizza crust. The jam setting allows you to make jam from fresh fruit. Haven't tried it but it sounds really easy. You can even make cakes in this thing! I am truly surprised at all this one machine can do! It is so easy to use, I showed my mom and my older children. All you do is put all ingredients in the machine in the order suggested by recipe, select your cycle and press start. In aroung three hours you will have fresh, steaming hot bread. I highly recommend this product!!

this breadmaker is very user friendly

This is the second breadmachine i have owned and it is by far the easiest one to use and understand. I really enjoy using this breadmachine. i would recomend this product for anyone that is looking for an easy to use simple bread maker. Just a few pushes of the button and the machine does the work for you. My four year old loves to help me make bread with this machine because he gets to set the machine by pushing the buttons and watching it work through the window on the top. Definitely a product worth the money to buy it and very easy to clean.

mmmmmmmmmmm freah baked bread without all the work!

4

I love freshly baked bread; and, what better when you don't have to do the work! I love the ease of a breadmaker....just throw your ingredients in and 'poof' (almost! :) you have bread! This bread maker does a nice job in mixing the bread and even cooking it. However, I think that it makes the bread a little heavy when it does the full baking of the bread. So, I often just put it on the dough cycle and then bake the bread myself. It's easy and the results are wonderful. I also love all the settings on this bread-maker. Although I have yet to try every setting, what I have done has worked tremendously. Also, the cost of this breadmaker is great in comparison to others. Often, people worry about spending less because the quality isn't as good. But, in my opinion, I think it's a great product for the price. Overall, I would definitely reccommend this product to others. It's a wonderful treat to come home to freshly baked bread!

This busy mom LOVES the ExpressBake Breadmaker!

I don't know what I would do without my **Sunbeam ExpressBake Bread Maker 5833. I use this breadmaker constantly and am often so thankful for the Express Bake function. If I forget to throw the ingredients into the breadmaker 3 hours ahead of time I can often still have a loaf of fresh bread because I only need 58 minutes for an Express Bake loaf. It's great. I think the entire unit is easy to use. It has tons of great settings and I have used it for so much. It is also easy to clean and not too bulky. ** **The only problem I have is that the paddle on my machine is stuck on there and won't come off for cleaning. It doesn't seem to be a huge problem, but sometimes I think it gets a little loose and I am sometimes afraid it is going to come off in the middle of a cycle.** **Overall, though, this is a great breadmaker and I love having it in my kitchen!**

The Sunbeam Bread Maker makes bread making easy :)

3

The Sunbeam ExpressBake Bread Make is so useful in my kitchen. I primarily use it to mix the dough. I rarely cook the bread in the bread machine. I find better results when I mix the ingredients in the sunbeam bread maker, and let the dough rise and re rise in the machine. Then I take it out and either put in in a bread pan, or form it into small buns, then I bake them in the oven. I like that the Sunbeam bread maker is easy to clean, the small rotating dough hook comes out for thorough cleaning, and the bread bowl has a non stick coating and is very easy to clean in a sink full of warm soapy water. Honestly I don't bake bread very often, but when I do I always use my Sunbeam bread maker. It does all the hard work for me :)
