I absolutely love my Summer Handheld Video Monitor!  I am so happy that I registered for the Summer monitor instead of some of the other monitors!  I had heard from several people that they thought I should register for the Angelcare monitor, but I didn't like the fact that the Angelcare did not have a video screen to actually see the baby like the Summer Video Monitor does.  When I had my first son, I was pretty anxious about nighttime when we finally moved him out of our room and into his own bedroom!  The Summer monitor allowed me peace of mind by being able to look at him whenever I wanted while he was sleeping without waking him up by physically walking into his room to check on him. The picture on the creen is very clear and the sound is awesome!  I could hear him breathing in it no problem to know he was alright!  I have since had my second son who is now 17 months old and it's still working great after 3 1/2 years!

This is a really easy video monitor to use and overall we are very happy with it.  It is very lightweight and easy to move around.  The camera take very good video and is so lightweight. We take it with us when we go to visit family and I'm happy it is so easy to just plug in and use. The night vision is fabulous, it is very clear. The sound comes though very clear and I like that it is easy to charge.  Also, we use this with the angel care monitor and there seems to be no interference between the two.  The only scary thing is and this is the case I guess with all video monitors is that you can sometimes pick up other baby monitors.  I turned the monitor on before I turned the camera on one day and there was another baby on my video screen!!! The monitor must have picked up the signal from another camera.  That I did not like!  But I guess it goes with the territory of having a video monitor.

I love love love my Summer monitor!!! I love the fact that I can not only hear my son on the monitor but I can see him. This is especially helpful at night when he may make little noises or sounds. I can just look at the monitor and see that he is moving around a little but nothing major is wrong. My husband and I find ourselves just looking at him on the monitor some nights just because he is sleeping peacefully and it is a rare moment for us. I think the picture is great and comes through clear in night vision. The sound quality is very good and I can have it turned down low and still hear him just fine. I also feel more comfortable when I have someone watching him at our house and they can keep an eye on him with the monitor. This way they won't be waking him up by peeking in his room. I am hoping this monitor holds up well so I can use it for my future children. I have told many people that this is the best monitor to have on hand.

The Summer Infant deluxe day and night monitor was given to us as a gift. We would probably have steared away from video monitors due to price but now that we have one, we wouldn't operate without one. The Summer brand has been very reliable for us. We have had to deal with the occasional annoyances that comes with static but it has never let us down. It also has a weak battery life. I have to let it charge all night long so that it can last during my daughters daily naps. We love being able to check on her by video without having to sneak in her room and potentially risk waking her up. I wish the monitor had a battery back up system. I had a minor freak out moment when we lost power one day as my house is a two story home and I was going to have a difficult time monitoring her without the monitor. A battery backup on the video unit and the monitor itself would be a good change to this monitor.

We purchased this monitor as opposed to a simple sound monitor because our bedroom and the nursery are on separate levels of our home.  I love being able to see and hear my baby wihout having to constantly peek in on her.  It provides me with the security I need to be able to put her to sleep far away from me at night.  The handheld monitor has great range, working throughout my entire house, basement, etc. and outside anywhere I go in my yard.  I am so pleased with this product.  The color adds clarity to the picture and I can see easily what is going on. The screen size is small, but it has to be to work with the handheld portion, so it is not enough of a deterrent for me to dislike the product.  The image is clear, the sound is clear, color is good.  I love the nightime feature that dims and fades unless a button is pushed, allows the unit to remain on for hearing without haveing to keep the viewer on.  For the money, I am happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone.

Call me overprotective, but I truly could not live without this monitor. We hear a lot of jokes about the "expensive tv monitor," but people really start to listen when you tell them why it is the best. First, my son sleeps through the night without any problems. This is because we were able to watch him on the monitor and let him cry for a little while like our doctor suggested. Other parents we have talked to just could not do this with regular baby monitors. They feared their child was hurt or in trouble. Secondly, you can see your child at all times in the crib. I can't tell you how many headaches this has saved me; from simply being worried for no reason to actually checking and realizing something is not right. One night we saw that my son had his foot stuck in the crib railing. We were able to sneak in using the monitor and move his foot without him even waking up. The sound quality is excellent, the range is fantastic, and the picture quality is enough to see most details. I can even turn the sound all the way down and still watch or see the bars light up below the screen. The monitor is mobile and can be clipped on a belt loop.

We received our Summer Infant Deluxe Day/Night Handheld monitor as a gift back in 2006. I can honestly say, it's proven to be one of the most useful gifts we received. My favorite quality of this particular model is it's durability. It has held up fantastically after years of heavy use with three small children. I truly do mean "heavy use". The first year we had it, we used it nearly every night! We have not had to replace or contact the manufacturer about a single problem. The screen clarity/signal and speaker clarity are still working great. The night cam truly is wonderful. We were able to watch our child (who slept with only a nightlight) with no problem. The speakers are also very sensitive. We were able to hear our son breathe easily with this one installed. As for the 2.5" screen size, I find it ideal. I would not want anything smaller, then again, I could've just gotten spoiled with this size! Overall, we love this product! In fact, after the birth of baby #2, we purchased an additional camera that synced just fine to our existing monitor. The only problem I've had with this model is that the handheld monitor does heat up a bit after about 4-5 hours in. It's hot to the touch, but not so much that it's dangerous to hold. You can just feel it when you pick it up is all. Again, ours was purchased in 2006, so later models may have had this issue rectified. I would suggest adding this to a registry for sure. Yes, it is more expensive than your run of the mill monitor, but the peace of mind that a video monitor provides makes it worth every extra penny.

I bought the deluxe day and night handheld color video monitior from summer infant for my first child. Being a new parent it was wonderful to be able to see our daughter without having to go in and check on her. She was a light sleeper so going in the room would have woken her this gave us the ablity to be able to watch. The picture is very clear whether the lights are on or not. It picks up every little sound. Every so often it would pick up interfernce which was a little irritating when we were sleeping. The biggest problem was quality of product. The Lcd stopped working after 4 months and we always had to have it plugged in. the battery would not keep a charge. I contacted summer infant customer service. They sent me a label to ship it back and after 4 weeks I had a brand new one. this work for another year. I was happy enough with this product that I bought a new one for my second child. Again after 7 months  it stopped working. I didn't have the original packaging so I couldn't send it back. All in all I was happy when it worked hated it when it wasn't. I decided against buying another for my third child.

I used the Summer Infant Day & Night color monitor for almost 3 years and I love it! I never had any issues with it. I was able to take the handheld monitor anywhere in the house with me, even out on the deck, and always got great reception. There was never any interference from neighbors or any other electronics in my home. I highly recommend this baby monitor. You can keep an eye on the baby whenever and wherever you are. This was also very useful for our Nanny, when we had one. Her hearing was not that great, she was an older woman, so she would turn up the monitor, so she could hear the baby. I recommend this to everyone I know. It's not that expensive, it's very easy to carry around with you in the house, and it's durable! The camera can be hung up on the wall, or rested on the corner of the crib...whatever. We used the monitor for a long time, with both our kids. You can even buy an additional monitor, to use this in multiple rooms!

My wonderful husband is partially deaf. When our little baby was born, we were very concerned about how my husband would even be able to monitor the infant when he was home with our son. With this Summer Infant Handheld Video Monitor, he could have a clear view of the baby from through out the house. Not having to rely on sounds, as other monitors would have required, has brought him and I  both peace of mind! Even when our son is sleeping and my husband is out working on the car he can not only hear our wonderful little boy but he is also able to see every movement that our son makes if he really wanted to watch the monitor 24/7. Having this monitor is the best thing any mom and dad could have. I would sagest this product to all expecting parents with and without hearing problems. It's a wonderful thing this techknolagy we have now days. I don't know what I would do without it. Mom's and dad's all over should have this monitor on the top of there list.
