Works okay

I have a little, light colored dog, that tends to be bothered by fleas in the summer. If we go to someone's house whose dogs have fleas, or go to the beach and around sand fleas, etc, he seems to get them pretty bad. I know it makes him uncomfortable always itching and scratching and so I've tried to different products to help relieve him of those symptoms. A friend of mine told me about Sulfodene Medicated Shampoo & Conditioner. They said it worked well when they were having the same problem with their dogs. So I gave it a try. It seemed to initially work, but the effect didn't last long. My dog would stop itching for about an hour or so after his bath, but I couldn't tell if it was the Sulfodene Medicated Shampoo & Conditioner that helped him stop itching or if it was just the bath water itself. And again, the relief didn't last long. A couple hours after the bath he'd start itching again, so I'm not sure how effective Sulfodene is.

My dog, Tessi, is troubled with allergies. Allergies to what, I don't know, but I do know that they cause all kinds of havoc with her skin. She will scratch and try to bite at the irritated spots until they bleed. I know she is miserable when she is like this. I have tried several products in an effort to relieve her symptoms. Through trial and error I have found three things that provide relief: - changing her diet to bland foods - giving her an [antihistamine tablet][1] and - bathing her in **Sulfodene shampoo and conditioner**. (Sulfodene is a brand name that contains the active ingredient 2-Mercaptobenzothiazole.) Even though I originally bought this shampoo to help with her skin allergies I have found that it is a wonderful shampoo and conditioner combo. After bathing her with Sulfodene I find that her hair comes out beautiful, silky, soft and as an added bonus, the shampoo helps prevent flaking as well. **Bottom Line:** Tessi is much happier dog because of **Sulfodene shampoo and conditioner**. It is sold over the counter and does not need a Vet' prescription.   **Ingredients**: Active Ingredients: Coal Tar, Sulfur, Triclosan [1]: http://www.viewpoints.com/PRO-PET-Allergy-Relief-Tablets-review-960b9
