Value Priced Suave Mousse

5

I'll say right up front that I do not like Suave shampoo. I have tried a wide variety of them, but most of them seem to dry out my hair. However, Suave makes a volumizing mousse that is inexpensive and it works. My hair is short, resting between my ears and my shoulders, but it is baby fine and straight as a stick (as my Mom used to say). I love my hair, it's soft and silky, but it is very hard to style because there is not much body. I decided to give Suave mousse a try and I have gone back to purchase several more because it works so well. It comes out in a nice thick, white foam that is easy to spread through my hair. As soon as I start styling my hair with a blow dryer and a round brush, I know this mousse is working well. For the price, it can't be beat!

This is great for any hair type or style!

I love all Suave products, especially Suave volumizing mousse.  Their products are some of the least expensive on the market, yet the results are great.  This product leaves my hair manageable and full of volume.  It also makes my hair smell wonderful, and the scent lasts for a long time.  I buy the max hold of 8, and it keeps the style for as long asI want.  I would recommend Suave volumizing mousse for any person of any age.  I love the entire line of Suave products.  In this economy, the quality of Suave products for the cost is amazing! Suave products are readily found at any department or megastore, and they are typically the cheapest products on the shelf.  The quality is amazing and I have many friends who use these products.  They also have the Suave promise to make sure you are completely satisfied with their products.  They will replace or refund your product if you are not completely satisfied.

Suave Volumizing Mousse

This mousse works very well in my hair, giving it the curl I want without being really stiff. I was surprised to find that I preferred this even over Pantene products. One downside is that, for whatever reason, the Suave Volumizing Mousse seems to lose it's effect after a haircut. Or at least, after getting a short hair cut. I had no end of trouble trying to find something that would curl shorter hair effectively. I also find that this product makes my hair feel greasier faster, though this is not really a problem for someone who showers on a daily basis. I have to disagree with the people who say that this is hard to wash out. I have never had that problem and I've been using this mousse for a few years (with the exception of when I had the shorter haircut)

Doesn't Hold Up to Its Name

It always seems to happen this way. Once you find a hair product you really like, the manufacturer discontinues it, and you're back to square one. This is what happened to me this past month with my mousse. I had been using [Lum? Professional Hydrating Styling Mousse][1] , a house brand from Aldi's. I liked it over many of the regular brands I've bought at the store. Now I can't find it anymore there, leading me to believe they have discontinued it. I decided to try Suave Max Hold Volumizing Mousse, as if an Aldi's house brand works that well, why not the just as cheap Suave? I'm looking for two things from my mousse - hold and volume. I was finding that the Lum? did both. This Suave mousse definitely holds my style. True, I have to use it in the Max Hold with the power of 8, but it works. I can style my hair at the beginning of the day, and by the end, barring being caught in a snow storm, rain storm, hail storm, or wind storm (it's Chicago ... we get all of these ... sometimes all in one day)), my style is still there. I find I don't have to restyle again before I go out at night even, and that's a great benefit for me.As far as volume, it doesn't seem to work as well. In fact, it doesn't seem to work at all. While it holds my curl and style really well, it's just not as ... "big" as I want it. I've said it before ... I came into adulthood in the 80s. I like big hair. I don't find it when I use this Suave Mousse. It's not that it doesn't volumize that well, it doesn't volumize at all.One other thing about the Suave Max Hold Volumizing Mousse that grates on me a little, is that my hair doesn't absorb it when I apply it. After getting out of the shower and towel-drying my hair, I apply the mousse, and it just sits there. It doesn't absorb into my hair, and no matter how much I put into my hand, I have to wipe off a certain amount of excess.I don't feel I expect a lot out of my mousse, to ask for it to hold and provide volume. If it has these words within the title of the product, it should at least do these two things that it promises. It only does half of its title. That's not enough to get me to buy it again. Suave Extra Hold Mousse controls my curly hair!!

5

Suave Extra Hold Shaping Mousse is the only product that controls my crazy naturally curly hair! If you were to see my hair without Suave mousse in it you would laugh...seriously. My hair would be frizzy, puffy, and just out of control. I use a huge handful of Suave Extra Hold Shaping Mousse on my fresh out of the shower, wet, prebrushed hair. I then brush it out and skrunch up the hair to get it curly. I then let it air dry. Sometimes the mouse makes my hair crunchy, but I put a lot in...and I mean a lot in my hair so it is kind of understandable. When it gets crunchy I just run my hand over the hair and crunch it up and smooth it (never brush it after it air dries...or poof...crazy hair comes back...lol!!) and it helps it to look less crunchy and feel more soft. I have people ask me what I put in my hair and feel silly by saying "Suave mousse" as if I am suppose to name some expensive professional product or something, but it is Suave Extra Hold Shaping Mousse that makes my curly, out of control, hair look great!!

Smells Terrific

5

Once in a while, especially on rather humid days, I find myself with some extra friz in my hair. This is when my handy dandy **Suave Max hold volumizing Mousse** comes in! I've tried many mousse's in my lifetime, and this one is definitely my favourite. Furthermore, I love love LOVE the smell. It smells so clean and fresh like you just came out of the shower when you didn't. As for the results, just a sprit of it, perhaps a quarter-sized ball of foam on my sideburns or the top of my head and my hair is kept in place without that crunchy nasty results you get from hairgel. It disappears clear, and leaves no nasty residue. I'd say it lasts about 6 hours. They make a smaller-sized that can be found at Target. If you need to carry one with you at work or at school, that's a great solution. I'd say it can be used for both genders of all hair-types. The wonderful scent is gender-neutral and very attractive - I can't stress this enough!

I find it builds up after awhile.

At first I used to love Suave because I had long hair that I would scrunch to make curls. It worked well because I had to use a lot for as much hair as I had. And since I was using more it was nice that it was very inexpensive. However, I noticed when I moved out of state and the water quality changed, that I had a hard time washing it out of my hair. I was even trying to shampoo my hair twice, but I still couldn't get it out. It was building up so badly I had to have a salon treatment on my hair. I still have a bottle of it and I can't bring myself to throw it away, so I do use it every once in awhile, but never 2 days in a row. I find that I can wash it out better if I try to space out the days that I use it. The way that it comes out of the spout is very good though. It comes out in a good consistency and when you work it into your hair it doesn't make your hair feel crunchy or heavy. It's not a terrible mousse if you want something every once in awhile, but it is not a good mousse for every day.

I have super fine hair that I wear in a short messy spikey bob. I usually like to make my hair stand before I go out.  I have tried a number of hair products looking for the one that does a good job at a minimal price.  Unfortunately, this product doesn't really work as well as some of the others do for me.  It gives my hair good volume but the hold doesn't last long enough.  Within a few hours the hold is usually gone and I have to rework it.  It works better for me if I blow dry my hair and then apply it dry and comb it through but then it doesn't exactly give me the control that I need.  I have found that the puttys tend to work better on my hair as they give me the control, body and hold that I need.  They tend to last all day and I can usually apply them either to my wet or dry hair and they still work.  Unfortunately, they are a bit pricier.  I think that this product probably works great for people who don't have such fine hair as myself and the price is right too.

Just Ok

I have super curly hair. To help it from becoming a frizzy afro, I use mousse daily. I wanted to try this mousse because the drug store had it on sale. So I bought some just to see if I would be making the switch to this brand full time. The mousse was a little heavier than the other brands. I didn't care. It went on smooth with no problems. When my hair was dry it didn't give me that bouncy feel that the other mousse I am used to did. It gave me a feel similar to if I had put hair gel in my hair. My hair was not as bouncy as it usually is either. It just kind of fell flat. I thought I put too much in. So the next day I tried again. I ended up getting the same results. I ma not a big fan of this mousse. I think maybe I was expecting too much from it. If I had to use it again, I would. But If I have a choice between this mousse and the brands I normally look for it's a no brainer. This mousse is staying on the shelf where it belongs.

not very good

I'm not a fan of Suave products.  I have used this product for my curly hair, and it was terrible.  It took a while to wash out as well, seemed heavy.  I used it on dry hair and it wasn't too bad, but on wet hair that I dried with a diffuser, my hair was so frizzy.  I have tried so many different products on my thick curly hair, and it took awhile to find one I liked.  (Tigi-curls rock curl amplifier)  This product was cheap and didn't do the job.  My boyfriend uses it cause it's cheap, but his hair is super short and he just likes to keep the shape, and he says it's fine for him.  I prefer a little better product.  I have used the Suave shampoos as well and am not a fan.  They just seem to leave a lot of build up in my hair. The next day after using this, my hair was really really hard to brush out.  I would not recommend this product if you have longer hair or curly hair, or any hair really.
