Stamina R360S Recumbent Bike

Part of this families New Year's resolution was to get more excercise. Since the only thing we could agree on that we thought everyone would use was an excercise bike, and one member must have a recumbent bike, we took the plunge and bought this one because it was in a price range we could afford. Needless to say, we got what we paid for. The bike itself was easy to assemble and works fine for what it is. However, considering everyone in my household is a different height, it is not really that easy to use. It takes two people to adjust it, and it is still difficult. And everytime a different person uses it, it has to be adjusted. Also, it is harder to pedal that I had expected. But that means the legs really do get a workout. The pulse monitor is cheaply made, poorly designed and very inaccurate so don't rely on it for anything. The seat is fairly comfortable, and the handles are ok. Overall the design is not the best. If only one person was using it, or everyone was of a similar height it would probably be ok. Otherwise, get something that adjusts easier.

Just got this recumbant bike to gear up for the new year and new health goals.  It is fantastic for the money. When I first started doing research for one of these I could not *believe* how expensive they are.  If you are on a budget and need to work out with minimal impact on your feet, knees and back then this is the machine for you. My husband put it together in about an hour with no trouble at all (he is pretty handy though..*s*). The display is great, showing just what you need and not a lot of other random information.  I've found the heart monitor located on the handle to be fairly accurate, although I think if this is something really important to you, you might want to buy the kind that you wear on your wrist. The machine is comfortable to sit on and, once I got the hang of it, easy to adjust for resistance. (Hint: you need to hold the buttons on the handles down continuously to adjust, just tapping them won't work). I also like that it is very open and easy to get in and out of. All around it is a great machine and an excellent value for the money.
