I've had my Vaio laptop for going on four years now, and it's still going strong! I've only had minor technical problems over time, though as it gets older they increase in frequency (but not severity--I've fixed all of them on my own). It still functions very well, with excellent speed and more than enough hard drive space, even for a student in the visual arts field. Definitely would recommend it, especially as a laptop for a college student! Battery Life Great battery life initially (up to or exceeding four hours), now after four years of use more reliably 2 to 2.5 hours if on power saver mode. Still pretty good for my own personal use. Support & Service Sony has always been extremely helpful whenever I've been frustrated enough with a problem to crack and call their support line, and the online help websites have helped me solve problems more often than not. Speed/Performance Do be mindful of what programs you install and regularly run. I keep my laptop running quickly and performing well by limiting the number of programs that automatically run at startup, as well as keeping my desktop as free of programs as possible, as those are primed to run at startup too.
