Sony is a really brand for you to get if you are looking for a dvd player. They have been around for a long time. I really like this DVD player. It runs very smoothly and has an excellent picture. I watch a lot of movies and it has been very durable and is always responsive.

I have nothing bad to say about this DVD player. We own two, just alike. One in my 4 year old's room and one in the living room. We have been using these for several years now, since both of our Coby's died within the same month. These DVD players are so simple to use that when my son was 2 he had already mastered it. But, if you DON'T want your child working the DVD player themselves, you have the option of locking the buttons with the remote using menus and your child cannot open the DVD player and insert foreign objects. This DVD player plays movies beautifully, scratched up movies, illegally burned movies, homemade movies - they all play just the same. My son has been pretty rough on his, forcing the DVD tray closed instead of using the button to close it, stuff like that, and it has never affected performance. And, if he does break it, its super cheap to replace. The remote is nice and simple to work, and its also very easy to program your universal remote to work with this DVD player. I know Blue Ray is the new thing, but if you are looking for a basic DVD player, you cannot go wrong with this cheap Sony.

I AM ONE WHO ALWAYS LOSES REMOTES. EITHER THE BACKS, THE BATTERIES OR THE WHOLE REMOTE ITSELF. I FIND THIS DVD PLAYER EASY TO USE AND HAS FULLL OPERATION DOWN TO THE SCROLL TO GET THROUGH MENUS AND SETTINGS AND TO PLAY MY MOVIES. This Sony DVD player is awesome! It does everything that I want it to do: play movies, allow the option of skipping previews, and skips to select scenes at will. There are very few buttons on the actual DVD player; only play, open/close, power, and stop. All other features can be controlled by the remote. The DVD player also works well with the universal remote I use for my TV and with the special digital cable remote provided by my cable company. DVDs play well without skipping and are very clear. In the past we have had trouble hooking up DVD players to my TV because of its age and our digital cable box. Without the original remote to the TV (which our puppy ate), it was impossible to do. We received this DVD player as a gift, and upon opening it I didn't think we'd be able to use it, but it was surprisingly easy to connect. The cables are color coded and made it very easy to use. I would definitely recommend this player for anyone looking for a good DVD player, and I'll consider Sony the next time I make an electronic purchase.

I giving this CD/DVD player a five star rating because it does everything it says it will do perfectly! We purchased this DVD player, because another player that was given to us stopped working one day. As a family, we decided that we only needed something that would play DVDs. We are not into watching a lot of movies on a regular basis, so we needed one that would allow us to watch about one or two movies a month. The player works perfectly and moves along quickly. The remote that comes with the player works from a wide range of locations. I can sit or stand anywhere in my front room, kitchen and dining room with the remote and the player will respond. Now that my child is almost two and into watching signing time videos, we use the dvd player on a daily basis. I am completed satisfied with the durability and ease of use. I also am a big fan of the slim and sleek style as it is not an eye sore resting in the tv console. Great producat and recommend to all who just need a dvd player.

The Sony DVP-SR200P is the best DVD player we have owned.  It is black (which I like) and very small, which for me is a big plus.  You hardly even know its there.  It plays the dvd's that our previous player couldn't, and not only that but doesn't even skip.  It's DVDRW, DVDR, CDR, CDRW, MP3, and JPEG compatable as well which is really nice.  It's nothing fancy, but it does a super job, and is a quality player.  Our movies looked better when we played them on this DVD player as well.  As an added bonus, it also meets Energy Star standards.  In the front it has a LCD screen that shows how long the movie you are watching has been playing.  It was so easy to set up that I don't think they could have simplified it any more and only took me a couple of minutes until I was done and turning on a movie.  Bottom line, it is a great machine, great picture quality, easy to use, easy to set up, plays dvd's that are scratched, and very thin.

I purchased this for my own personal home use for my family. It is really handy to play a disc while there may be one on hold in my other dvd player. This Sony dvd player plays very well, a lot like the same commands my other Sony had. One of the most important things for me is to be able to see the status while it is playing and this has  easy to read numbers that light up. The audio and video quality is excellent. About the only disappointment is the remote doesn't have a eject button but most dvd players don't have this option so it is not a big deal at all.  Overall I am very happy with this Sony dvd player, for the price you can't beat it! It does not have all the bells and whistles most have but I am a simple person with simple electronics. This is enough dvd player for me. I would definately recommend to anyone that wanted a simple, little dvd player. Sometimes you can find these really cheap, too!

The Sony DVD player model # DVP-SR200P is an excellent high quality DVD player that also plays CD's. It was the lowest price DVD player I could find when my last DVD player broke down yet the pictue that it sends is absolutely fantastic. The unit also plays cd' if you want to just play music. I love the very sleek design and combine the fact it is black makes it look futuristic. It comes with an easy to use remote and all the cables that are needed to hook the DVD player to the television. I watch alot of DVD movies and I have not had one problem with the unit yet. The electric cord is plenty long to get to the electri outlet that is aways from the intertainment center so I did not have to use an extention cord which I concider a plus. For all the Earth friendly people out there this DVD player by Sony is an energy star appliance. So my review of this DVD player is all positive. I would buy the same brand and model number if I needed another DVD player.

The Sony DVP-SR200P DVD/CD Player is a very dependable player.  This player is slender and moderately small compared to some dvd players.  We have been able to set on top of our Dish Network Receiver and our Receiver still gets plenty of ventilation.  The picture and sound from our movies played seem to be clear and extremely good.  With some of the other dvd players that we have owned in the past there has been some delays in opening and playing a dvd but not with the Sony DVP-SR200P DVD/CD Player.  The only lag that I have noticed in a pause in a movie which usually is caused by the actual dvd movie and not the machine.  The remote is handy and easy to use.  Another thing that I have noticed is the access to the menu of a movie is easier to get to along with fast forwarding or reversing the play of the movie than previous players that we have owned.  As for the cost, I cannot comment for this dvd player was given to us as a present.  However, based on only the performance of this player, I would recommend it to others.
