I have owned this tv for two years now. It is a great and reliable tv but I would not call it top of the line. The picture image is clear, but not the clearest. The colors are vibrant, but there are other tvs with more vibrant colors. If this tv did not have the Sony brand name on it, I think I would be a little easier on it, but I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed in this one. However, if you have a Sony blu-ray player or other Sony products, this tv works great in conjunction with them. I have a Sony blu-ray player and they sync together really well. This tv also works really well in conjunction with my Onkyo 7.1 home theater receiver. I have not had any issues with running sound from my blu-ray player through my receiver to this Sony tv. With my Panasonic LED tv, I had some pretty major issues with my receiver.

We purchased this TV as an upgrade from the big box TVs. We looked around for a while until we finally settled on this one and do not regret the decision one bit. The 40 inch screen is perfect for the room it is in and everyone can see it from all angles. We purchased it on sale and think it was worth waiting until prices went down for HDTV televisions. We love the crispness of the images on screen. Everything is extremely clear. The sound quality is great too. Setting up the TV was extremely easy and connecting it to the DVD player was also easy. I also use it to connect the laptop to and that also works great and the picture is just right.

I'm a huge fan on this TV. Well actually sony in general. Sony is the one electronic brand that has yet to let me down!! We've had this tv for quite some time now and still enjoy it. It's never given us any problems. We actually bought it 6 months or so after we bought the 46 Sony Bravia TV for our living room. The picture on this one is just as great at the picture on the larger model. This one is just a great size for our bedroom though. In addition to the fantastic picture quality the sound quality is also far from disappointing!! One feature this Tv has that I really like is how it's able to be turned from side to side. I do wish the larger Tv had that feature/option. Sometimes the sun glares on the TV so being able to go up and turn the screen slightly is a great option! It's also fairly light weight which is great for me. I'm able to lift it no assistance from others. I would definitely recommend this TV to others. You will not be disappointed!

We recently bought this television to replace our old family room model and I am very pleased. First thing that excited me was how light it is. After hauling out our old heavy model, this unit I could lift myself! The television is easy to operate especially for a non-technical person like myself. Everything is self-explanatory and the picture quality is great! Picture Quality The picture quality is amazing especially with the HD channels. It's like seeing a whole new world compared with our other televisions. Durability We haven't had this set long enough to determine durability but we always have had Sony tv's and have been very pleased with how long they last.

All the kids went together and bought a 40 inch Sony LCD TV for my mother-in-law for Christmas. She originally didn't think she wanted such a big TV, but once we got it set up, she loved it. The bigger screen made it easier for her to see and it even has captions if she has trouble hearing the dialogue. Even I admit, sometimes they get carried away with the background music on movies, making it difficult to hear what the people are saying. We were very impressed by this television and are considering getting one for ourselves. The picture quality and sound are excellent and the ease of navigating the features of the television was a big plus for our mom.

I have had this TV for quite a while now and it is by far the best TV I have ever owned. The quality of the sound is really what makes it stand out above other models. Of course, the Sony name and the higher quality sound and video upscalation come at a price. This is more expensive than an off brand TV or some of the cheaper brands (Vizio) but it more than makes up for it in quality (of sound alone!!!) I don't say this to knock any other brands (I own Vizio TVs too), but just too state that the sound is amazing. The picture quality is suberb too. The different settings that you can make on the different interfaces is nice, but it would be great to be able to tag your own interfaces like the newer makes and models. That would make it easier to be able for the wife to know what inputs were what instead of calling all of the time :) I'm not sure about the other users' "Cons" but I haven't noticed any glares on the screen or any other negative aspects in that regard.

Although this is an older model (ours is two years old), it has an excellent picture. We love the variety of settings available, especially for watching DVDs. You can customize the settings to get the most out of your DVD's, especially Blu-Ray. The HD is great, especially for sports. There is a dramatic difference between the regular and HD channels. My only criticism is with the sound. You really need external speakers to get the most out of the TV, especially for watching DVD's. We have an older, non flat screen Bravia that has excellent sound. I don't know if newer Bravias have improved on the stereo sound. But for the difference in price between this model and newer ones, I highly recommend it!

This TV is in the family room. We watch all our movies on this T.V. It gets the best picture ever. It was a reasonable price. Well worth the investment. This Sony Televison is perfectly sized for a family room. The picture is absolutely superb. The sound is great also. Our family are crazy movie watchers. Since we have gotten this Sony Bravia Television we have been on a mision to watch every movie that has won Oscars in the past 40 years. We have put a nitche in it too! Besides the Sony Bravia's great sound, that we recently hooked up to new Sony surround sound speakers and perfect screen size with many screen size choices for different occasions or settings you are in. We have only had this television for 3 years and we are already talking upgrades. Of course we want bigger and better and newer as soon as it comes out. When we so deside to upgrade we are sold on Sony. They have great quality and why change a good thing?

After years of living the "dark ages" and owning a Sony Trinitron, we decided to look into a flat screen television. To be honest, our Trinitron was struck by lightning so we were somewhat forced into buying a flat screen, but not too upset about it. After owning the Trinitron for over 7 years, we knew we wanted to stick to the Sony brand. Sony is a brand we can trust and know it will last. The Sony Bravia tv has an awesome picture and lots of neat features, not to mention a great space saver (meaning it fit perfectly into our built in unit in our living rooom)! The only downside in my opinion is the sound quality. My husband and I have tried all of the different sound options, but it still doesn't seem as loud as our Trinitron. Overall, I would highly recommend this tv!

i am a great movie lover and enjoy television as well. i was used to watching television on a 12 inch tv and didnt feel i was getting the full experience. my boyfriend doesnt care for television at all but knowing how i feel he surprised me with a sony bravia. its totally changed the way i look at television. its great. i would highly recommend it.
