I decided to try a new peanut butter and came across smart balance with omega added. I thought this was great that omega was added an extra benefit to my health. Well first off this peanut butter is very oily and it leaves a not so pleasant after taste in ones mouth. I will not be purchasing this product again. I will stick to the peanut butter that I know and love. I personally like the taste and texture of Peter Pan peanut butter.

A healthier peanut butter made with Omega 3 oils.

The flavor isn't great. The texture is kind of weird, almost gritty. You simply can't stir it enough to combine the oil and peanut butter, no matter how full the jar is. Its almost like a science experiment instead of peanut butter. I was really disappointed because I love peanut butter and really like Smart Balance butter so I was hoping to have found a healthier peanut butter option. This will not be replacing regular peanut butter in my house any time soon.

Patty must be crazy - Smart Balance peanut butter is great!

I was looking for an alternative to a major brand of natural peanut butter because the process of mixing the oil back in the the peanuts was a royal pain in the butt, so I decided to try something else. When I found the Smart Balance brand, I did some internet research and what I read inspired me to try their natural peanut butter. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I loved it, and now I'm hooked. For breakfast I spread it on whole wheat toast with fruit preserves or ripe bananas and wash it down with a cup of coffee. It's absolutely delicious and I give it 5 stars! I was motivated to write this in response to Patty's ridiculous statement that Smart Balance peanut butter smells and tastes like fish. NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH!

Best tasting peanut Butter

I love Jiff and Peter Pan Peanut Butteer. and still use them but they must take a back seat to smart Ballance Omega peanut Butter. smart Ballance has the advantage because of the addition of Omega 3-6-9 that is included. I like the smooth Smart Ballance Peanut Butter but Smart Ballance crunchy Omega Peanut butter is mouth watering and delicious. It has good fats in it and I eat it on plain bread with jelly, on toast and crackers. I love the crunch of the peanuts as I eat. The only draw back is there is a funny smell and an after taste sometimes. And there is a lot of oil thatpools in the jar as you get near empty. Smart Ballance Omega Peanut Butter also costs a lot more than other Peanut Butters but it is worth it because of the health benefits. I don't want to cut corners with my health but if I am on a tight budget I often will have no choice but to purchase Jiff peanut butter or Peter Pan or a store brand.

Have a delicious peanut butter and fish burp sandwich!

***Quick View:*** Most of my reviews center around either beauty or health and I believe they go hand in hand. I try eat well and do as much for my body as I can to stay healthy and youthful so, when I saw **Smart Balance Omega Peanut Butter,** I abandoned my [all natural peanut butter][1] and bought some. This peanut butter has the goodness of peanut oil with the added health benefit of Omega3 fish oil. Both are heart smart. But little did I know that the peanut butter would taste like fish butter... ***About Smart Balance Omega Peanut Butter***  This peanut butter boasts the addition of no less than 1000mg of Omega3 per serving. That's crazy healthy! There are deep roasted peanuts and a touch of molasses for a subtly sweet, deliciously healthy peanut butter. Or so they say. I bought the creamy variety because I couldn't find the crunchy kind. The label looked decent for peanut butter, Two tablespoons has 200 calories. (That hurts but I only have one tablespoon at the most at a time.) There is a whopping 17 grams of fat but remember, most peanut butters use the 1 tablespoon guide so the fat isn't all that high especially considering it is mostly good for your heart fat and not the clogging kind. There are 2 grams of fiber and 8 grams of protein per serving. When I opened the jar, there was a light layer of oil on top. I am used to seeing that because I generally eat all natural peanut butters that separate. I stirred it up and the consistency was decent. I made a peanut butter sandwich on light wheat using a tablespoon of the **Smart Balance Omega Peanut Butter.** When I put the bread to my mouth, something was fishy. I mean...something SMELLED fishy. Hmm. I forged ahead and took a big bite of the sandwich. Although it didn't taste like a sardine sandwich, I could taste a fishy taste along with the peanut butter. Kind of like the taste I sometimes I have in my throat when I take an Omega3 gel cap on an empty stomach. As I continued eating the sandwich, the fishy taste remained. I just didn't enjoy it at all. Now, I may have been able to disguise the taste with a heaping helping of jam or honey or something but why? I take Omega3 gel caps twice a day and I eat all natural, pure peanut butter that is delicious. Why should have to cover up the weird taste of this peanut butter when it isn't necessary? The company states that the Omega3 that they use is tasteless. Well, I beg to differ. I have tried the peanut butter a few more times and, yep, it tastes fishy. Not a STRONG fish taste but, as far as I'm concerned, any fish taste in anything but fish is gross. My kids refused to taste it after the took a whiff of the stuff. It's back to my usual peanut butter and my Omega3 gel caps (which I never stopped taking). I really don't know why I felt the need to buy a product with added Omega3 when I take plenty but I do like to eat as healthy as possible and this seemed like a healthy way to get in some heart healthy fish oil while enjoying heart healthy peanut butter. The two were not meant to be combined, trust me. ***My Viewpoint*** Smart Balance has good intentions, I am sure. They make spreads of other kinds with Omega3 as well. And the concept is a good one. But if the stuff doesn't taste good, why eat it? We don't get enough Omega3 in our diets and probably never will because most Americans don't eat oily fish as often as needed to get enough plus there is that niggling mercury poisoning factor with so many fish these days. But a better way to get Omega3 if to buy [Natrol Omega3 Gel Caps][2] and take two a day. Then buy some natural peanut butter and enjoy the peanuts and the hearty peanut flavor while feeding your heart even more good oils. I can't give **Smart Balance Omega Peanut Butter** more than ***2 stars***. Even when I was pregnant, I never had an urge for a peanut butter and fish sandwich. Ew. Smart Balance PB got more than just peanut butter-it was gross

1

Have always liked creamy SB PB until recently. A few months ago we bought a jar that smelled and tasted so bad no one in my family could eat it. I let SB know and they kindly sent coupons and apologized for the issue. The last jar I opened had a dark spot just beneath the top layer, thought it might be a peanut so I scooped it out noticing there were several tiny dark things sticking out of the scooped area. I rinsed the PB from the scooped dark spot only to find a large fly whose tiny legs were still in the PB jar-yuck. Wrote SB again about their poor quality; they stated they assure the best quality possible and apologized again for the new issue; no coupons this time. I offered to send the evidence to them only to be told they were not interested so I let them know I was no longer interested in being a customer.
