Slim fast products never let you down in taste and nutrition, the only place they take you down is your clothing size, and that is something most of us desire for. I am a big time fan of Slim fast products and have tried their ready to drink shakes in various flavors in the past including Chocolate Royale. So, when I had my eyes on Slim Fast Powder Shake Mix in Chocolate Royale flavor, I couldn't resist myself. I keep these mix ins to be used at home as I prefer to keep the ready shakes aside to grab when I am on the run. Just like their ready to drink shakes, this Slim Fast Powder Shake Mix does justice to it's name. When prepared in fat free milk as recommended, it serves as a meal itself. I also take it sometimes as in between snack. It keeps me full for a long time and I feel healthy within. It is an excellent source of nutrition that anyone can include in their daily routine.

Slim Fast Chocolate Royale mix will always have a special place in my heart and my cupboard. It was the very first product that I ever tried from the brand and started my love for their products. I started having a Chocolate Royale shake every morning while in college. I never had time for a sit down breakfast and this I could mix in my dorm room. I just shook it up with milk and ice and was on my way. At the time I really appreciated that it was cheap yet kept me full all morning through classes. Years later I still have a container of this in my cupboard. I just love it! On the days when I have a bit more time I make myself a delicious shake with it by blending it with coconut milk and ice. Sometimes I'll add a banana but I usually don't. The creamy, sweet (but not too sweet) taste is just amazing! It tastes just like a chocolate milk shake! If you've never tried Slim Fast before this is the flavor to start with. The moment I tried it I fell in love and haven't looked back since!

I have tried many Slim-Fast products in the past. When I came across the Shake Mix in a Chocolate flavor I was a little hesitant at first. I love chocolate, but I have tried many meal replacement shakes in a chocolate flavor and I have hated them. The instructions recommend that you add this powder to skim milk; however I do not like skin milk that much, so I usually add a scoop to 1% milk. In terms of flavor, this was the best tasting chocolate meal replacement shake I have ever tried. It actually tastes like chocolate and not an artificial flavoring. The shake was very creamy and pleasant. It is a nice treat that I do not feel bad about drinking. I also like that you can add other things to it to change the flavor. My two favorites are banana and mint. I have also added a little bit of low fat ice cream, either vanilla or chocolate, to make a smoothie. I usually make a small glass of this shake as a snack when my snacking craving kicks in. It really does help to curb my hunger. Overall, this is a great shake mix to add to milkshakes and other smoothies. I would recommend using it as a meal replacement or as just a snack.

I believe I actually like the shake mix better than I do the shakes themselves. With the shake mix I can actually make my own shakes with water, soymilk, almond milk, or even with my tea for added potency and power. I like that I can add a little bit for a slight flavor or I can add a lot for more protein, more calories for fuel, and more flavor. The shake mix also goes well in smoothies so I can make my own drinks in the blender. I can add some mix to my ice cream for a sneaky, protein packed treat. One down fall is that I feel like when I add this to milk or water I have to shake it continuously for long periods of time and it still doesn't dissolve as much as I would like for it to. When I mix it with milk, I always mix it ahead of time and then put it back in the fridge because it doesn't taste as good when it is first shook into milk and it's very bubbly. The major benefit of this for me is the protein and energy I get when I drink these. They do help with weight management but I wouldn't call them a weight loss drink. They are great to supplement with on occasion but this mix isn't an everyday meal solution. I like to incorporate this mix with a variety of other means to lose weight and stay in shape. The great thing about this though is that it's not just protein. It has iron, calcium, and even B vitamins.

First of all I would like to say that I've been using slim fast products since 1977. I originally didn't use slim fast for weight control but more as a supplemental meal. I was very active and was always on the go and would have one if I didn't have time for breakfast or lunch. As I got older, I became somewhat less active and started using this product as a nutritional supplement which for me works very well. I don't always eat the right things and sometimes I forget to eat lunch but with the mix, I can mix it up quickly and go till the next meal. It does the job for me as well as helps keep me at a desirable weight. I would like to stress that this product is not a replacement for a meal but can be used in place of a meal now and then and in no way should a person think that they can have three Slim fast shakes a day instead of thee meals. It's meant to be a dietary and nutritional aid, not a diet in itself. So if you use this product in the way that, you have a shake instead of a burger and fries for lunch, it makes a huge difference. Use common sense and this product will work great.

I have been using Slim-Fast canned shakes for a while and recently discovered the Slim-Fast shake powders. I seriously love these! Because you make them yourself, they are less convenient and less portable than the canned shakes...but that also means that you can customize them to your own tastes. I really enjoyed this chocolate royal flavor, but do wish it packed a more chocolatey punch. That said, using it straight like the package recommends is still pretty awesome for a diet drink - tastes a lot like yoohoo. I really like adding this chocolate flavor to my blender with ice, milk or greek yogurt, and other flavors to make my own frappes and shakes. So far I've tried it with peanut butter and banana, which was out of this world! I've also tried it with fresh and frozen raspberries, which makes for a very indulgent taste. The best breakfast I've found is to add cold coffee to the chocolate for a mocha shake - YUM!
