I am a person who hates to sew, but has to sew on occassion. This machine is very easy to use. The instructions are very clear and the machine is marked clearly. You can do basic stitches on most fabrics without a problem. I have had mine for 6 years and no problems whatsoever. It is a common model so I am sure that you can buy replacement parts anywhere. The main problem is that it is pretty hard to grow as a seamstress with this machine. If you want to do more complicated things like stitching denim or doing embroidery, you have to buy extra parts, but at least the parts are there if you want to buy them. This machine cannot be programmed. The cost of this unit is great--you get a basic machine at a basic price. You pay extra if you want to do anything fancy.
