I have to say, I am very impressed with the quality of the singer electronic sewing machine. I am not an advanced sewer but I am a mother that loves to create fun outfits for my daughter, friends, and myself. I mostly stick to simple patterns and I love using my Singer sewing machine. I like this machine because it is easy to use. Some sewing machines take hours to thread. I am impressed with how fast it is to thread and get started on projects. I also like that this machine has a lot of stafety features. I know thatI can lock the machine to keep it from my daughter and its even safe for me to use as well. I love all of the sewing features. This machine has a lot of great stitch settings. It even has a setting to sew on buttons which saves lots of time. Stitch Performance Impressive stitch performance. I got this as a birthday present last year and it has to be one of the best presents I've ever got. It's been used for all sorts of alterations - though mostly shortening trousers and hems of dresses for my family - and some simple dressmaking. The bobbin is nice and easy to drop in. It's easy to thread and select the right stitches. It's a great little machine, has never once let me down. The Singer reputation is well-deserved as it's good and sturdy. It's also very easy to get serviced when the need arises in a few years as Singer are so popular. They're popular for a reason, they build good solid machines that just work the way a sewing machine should. In the box there was a handy manual to get me started as it had been years since I'd used an electric sewing machine. My previous machine was a foot powered treadle machine that belonged to my great-grandmother, that's how well Singer make their machines! Of course, only time will tell if I'll be passing this down to my great-grandchildren. Versatility Good selection of stitches.

I have sewn costumes for my granddaughter on my old singer that was handed down to me from my mother and it finally broke after forty years! I decided to buy another Singer Sewing machine as the name equals quality! This year with the Frozen phenomenon, I had to make both Elsa and Anna costumes and they came out beautiful using this machine. You can use it to make most anything from clothes, to household items like pillow covers and so much more. I have made doll clothes and clothes for myself. The options on the machine are easy to use and the instruction manual is easy to follow. I recommend this machine to beginners and advanced sewers as well. The machine was simple to thread and winding the bobbin was equally as simple. This is a great machine for the money. It has a nice modern looking design and it seems to be very durable. Most all of the fabrics I have sewn on this machine has stitched easily with no problems.

I just started using this machine and I am so happy with it . It is so easy to use that I got it after the first time and this being that I never used a sewing machine before . You just need to make sure you have the material aligned right and steady . You should hold on to the material but not to strong the machine takes in it itself no need to push it in . The speed depends on how hard you press the pedal . To be safe always keep a safe distance between your fingers and the needle . I recommend this type of sewing machine for people who are beginners at using machines and for small projects . Stitch Performance The stitching comes out perfect and small but tight . I made a bag and use it to put textbooks in it and the stitching has not come undone yet . Ease of Use So simple the first time you will understand it . The hardest part is probably when you replace the thread . You just need to take off the bottom lid and make sure it clicks on. Fabric Handling It handles fabric good , I used soft flannel and did not damage it . I also , used nylon and it stitched it perfectly . Versatility I would say you can use it to make anything simple and all kinds of projects . I have made purses , book bags , applied zippers , shirts and even a tutu . It also has many design patters . Design The design is basic but it works well . Durability It is very durable , my grandmother has had it for over 5 years now and is still like new .

The Singer sewing machine model 7442,is a really great !!! This machine is easy to thread.It has anautomatic needle threader,and top loading bobin.It has about 30 different stitches that it can perform.It comes with buttonhole foot,zipper foot,satin stitch foot,blind stitch foot.It also comes with a various other accessories.Another really nice thing about this machine it has a pressure foot.So it makes it really eay to use.I just want to say that this is a nice machine to have around the house.I have three girls and we have done alot of sewing on this machine.I have had my singer sewing machine for about six years now.I grew up using a singer and now my daughters will do the same in their families. Stitch Performance It has great stitch performance. Ease of Use It is very easy to use. Fabric Handling Handles fabric well. My mother first introduced me to using this sewing machine. So far, I have used it to create my own Nintendo DSi case as well as a laptop case. Its easy to use and it has different threading patterns as well. I have used it on denim fabric for my laptop case and it goes easily through it. It made beaded patterns on it. Although, it was a little hard to keep my hands sturdy on the fabric, and it looks a little sloppy, but with extra practice, anyone can make perfect seams like on clothing. I would also recommend that when using the pedal, do not press hard on it, but rather lightly because the faster it goes, the faster that your hand has to guide the fabric on the machine, and unless a person is a professional, the pattern will look jagged and all over the place, so it is important to go slow on the pedal. Fabric Handling I made a case for my netbook and used denim, bubblewrap, and another cloth and it worked well in the machine.

My singer sewing machine in great!  It is user friendly but also has some technical features for more complex sewing.  It is easy to load the bobbin and to fill it as well.  Easy to thread.  Glides will on most fabric.  Lightweight but strong enough to sew thick denim.

I bought one of these for my two granddaughters to learn to sew on, They are both so creatvie ,i wanted a way to use their creativity they are teens so i did not want to invest a lot till i saw if they would use it or not, well, they use it about everyday and have made some of the cutest purses and things that i am in awe of their talents using this machine.
