Very Gentle

This formula is very gentle on babies who have sensitive stomachs. Although it can cost more than other kinds and brands of formulas, for a baby who struggles with digestion, it is worth the extra money involved. Easily Digested Our oldest child had some struggles with spitting up and a gassy belly, especially when we tried using cheaper off-brand formulas. Even with the name-brand regular formulas, he would sometimes have issues (although not as badly). But when we tried this formula specifically for sensitive babies who have some of these issues, it worked very well. He stopped having issues with gas and spit-up, and he seemed a whole lot more comfortable. He also slept better at night, which I believe was a direct result of using this formula. Ease of Preparation This formula is extremely easy to mix with water in a bottle. It's not quite as convenient as the pre-made liquid formulas, but it is still pretty easy to use.

It helped with my son's reflux.

After our son was born, he was having trouble digesting his formula and with acid reflux. The doctor prescribed many types of formula for us to try for him. We tried formula after formula without any luck. Finally, she said for us to try Similac Spit up before she prescribed prescription formula for us to try. Similac Spit Up was the only one out of the six formulas we tried that he was able to easily digest. It also helped to improve his reflux because of the rice starch being added to it. He still spits up, but it is not as bad as before we started with the Similac Spit Up formula. It is very easy to mix the powder formula to make a bottle. My one complaint of the powder formula is that because of the rice starch being added to the formula it is very think and clogs the nipples of the bottles at times. We have had to make the holes bigger, so that it will come out of the nipples easier.

Product did not prevent fussiness or gas

2

My infant son ate this brand of formula for a few weeks but it did nothing to prevent fussiness or gas. He was extremely irritable and colicky, and I hoped this product would help. Unfortunately, the added rice protein was probably harder to digest than regular formula. Easily Digested This formula was not easily digested by my son. I gave him a few weeks to try to adjust to it, but it seemed harder to digest than other formulas he tried. His gassiness and fussiness were made worse by eating this formula with added rice protein. Ease of Preparation This formula is as easy as any other formula to prepare. I added 2 scoops per 1 ounce of water in the bottle and shook until it was fully dissolved. The container with the scoop on the top (not hidden within the contents, like other formulas), was very convenient and made starting a new container easy. The design of the container made a difference, compared to other formulas.

Trusted Brand but didn't notice a difference

My baby was constantly spitting up when he was born so I wanted to try a formula that was specific to his needs. I tried this and he seemed to like it just fine. The ingredients look good and compare to the nutritional elements of similac advance except with the added benefit of preventing spit up. He used this for a few days and I really did not notice a difference. He was still spitting up and started to become fussy so I just switched him back to his regular formula since this wasn't changing anything and I didn't want him to also have to deal with a new change. I don't know if I was supposed to use it longer but I thought 3-4 days was plenty of time to see if it worked or not. I do know that every baby is different so what doesn't work for one may work for another. I personally would not buy this again but I wouldn't discourage another parent from trying it for themselves.

Awesome in powder form

As long as you use the powder form of this formula things will work out great. After being born 8 weeks early and having major acid reflux issues, and trying many other types of formula, the similac for spit up was the only one that would work. Once we started on this formula the acid reflux began to mild out, the gas went away, and my baby began gaining weight. However, I would not use the already mixed bottles they are thicker and made my son badly constipated.

Absolutely great! I was so glad I found this!

When my first child was a baby, he had absolutely no problems with formula and was able to use the regular Similac. However, my second son had some type of acid reflux. I was so worried because he couldn't keep anything down. He wouldn't just constantly spit up, he would projectile it. It was awful. His pediatrician recommended Similac Sensitive for Spit-Up. At first, I was wary about trying it because I was so scared that it would take forever to find something that actually worked for him or something worse. Needless to say, it worked. I couldn't have been happier, and neither could he! He was able to keep his formula down at least 90% of the time, which was great! His doctor said it was great progress and he was glad it didn't take like to fix. At first, I thought it was a bit expensive, but hey, all GOOD (Similac) formula is a little pricey (everything is expensive when you have children), but it is definitely not bad. It is actually very reasonably priced! After I saw the wonders it did for my son, I am sure I would have paid double for it! Great product! Easily Digested Even though this product worked greatly, he still wasn't able to keep everything down. His pediatrician said he would never be able to keep all of his food from one sitting down until he was about 12-18 months. He still kept 90% of each feeding down, which was fantastic and better than what his doctor thought he would do! Hence, why I gave it a 10! Ease of Preparation Super easy to prepare! It always has been though. However, it does get kind of tricky with a screaming, hungry 3 month old in your arms and a tired and angry 1 year old pulling on your pant leg demanding more juice or milk in his sippy, haha!

What were they thinking with this one??

There is nothing about this formula that I like! The powder isn't normal powder, it doesn't mix right at all. I usually shake the bottles to mix them, but with this stuff after I shook it I expected to see maybe a few clumps floating around, but this still had powder practically dry at the top. I had to let it all fall in the water before I put the lid on & start shaking. & the worst part is that my son spits up a lot which is why we tried it, but after not only does he still spit up, but he like gags on it & spits up chunks- its horrible! Easily Digested doesn't digest like a liquid- my baby spits up chunks instead of liquid like other formulas. & when he starts to choke it up it scares me. Ease of Preparation doesn't dissolve quickly

I will never buy this again.

I am a mother of three beautiful children. And I thought that I would do the whole formula and breastfeeding thing. Until I learned the truth about all of these canned formulas. You would not believe how floored I was to learn about certain ingredients that are added into these formulas that are supposed to be safe for our children. They are adding cupric sulfate which is a known ingredient in pesticides. I have no idea as to why they would be adding something like this in a food that we feed to our children, but they do. And for that reason I have strictly stuck to breastfeeding. Easily Digested Before I learned about the cupric sulfate ingredient in the formula, my little one didn't digest this formula very well. She actually threw the majority of it up, or refused to eat it at all. Ease of Preparation It is an easy to prepare formula, it is like any other formula that you have to measure out and add water to. Nothing special about it. The already mixed bottles are the easiest to prepare, because well...there is no preparing to it lol.

I don't know why I didn't try it before. I guess sometimes you just follow what the doctors say too close. my poor baby has suffering with reflux since a couple weeks old, and he was crying so much that he went hoarse! finally the doc. give him zantac what only took away the pain , he look better but keep throwing up more and more every time. we try Enfamil AR and just with the 2 bottles we knew this wasn't for him. after feeding him, he would cry for 2 hr. and the formula was so thick! now my baby is 4 months and I couldn't take it any more. he was all this time on Enfamil gentlease and my husband didn't want to try others since we try similac alimentum and the smell was so bad my poor baby was smelling like sewerage! but i look online and found this sensitive for spit up. they don't have the sensitive on it any more but I called similac and they told me is to avoid any more confusions with similac sensitive, but they said is still have less lactose for babies with a sensitive stomachs. they said the already to feed formula has a different process and ingredients so it last in the shelves long time. so I try the powers better. so far a miracle! my son looks happier, spit up so little, and I can actually play with him without worrying that he is going to vomit all his formula. I will highly recommend it. I follow my instincts and was determined to fine something that help my son. I'm glad this one work for us. I mix it with warm water more hot then cold and put the bottle in cold water to let it cool off. after you shake it gets foamy but my son doesn't seem to be bother be it. He already knows how to pass gas so that's not a problem but I'm not sure if younger babies will get gassy. we burp my son every oz. I think that help him drink slower and not to get to gassy. the power looks very fine and when you mix it doesn't look as thick, it doesn't smells and baby seems to love it. I will recommend that when you get the formula buy a size# 3 nipples so the baby can suck without too much effort . my son is also eating oatmeal and zucchini puree so he doesn't get constipated. before he stared solids if he would get constipated I would squeeze a couple of drops out of a plum and give it to him, that works great. I hope this formula works for you too. good luck!

Excellent formula

We used this for my daughter. She did not seem to have a milk allergy but was spitting up a lot after every feeding. We tried this when we found it on sale and bought it until she finally outgrew the spitting up. The Similac brand seems to work better than it's generic counterparts. Easily Digested My daughter hardly spit up at all when using this formula. She would also sleep better at night after taking a bottle of this. Ease of Preparation Available in easy to mix or ready to use options. Much easier to use than trying to mix rice cereal into a bottle! Does not clog the nipple and cleans up easier also.
