I like to help the environment and look for products that are environmentally friendly. I never tried this detergent and decided to give it a try despite the expensive price tag. This detergent is concentrated so you need to only use a little bit for a load of wash. Since it is natural it is more gentle on the skin and is nice for people with sensitive skin. It is very concentrated and a little goes a long way so a bottle of it lasts quite a while and you only need a small amount in order to wash your clothes. The clothes come out clean but lacking a nice fresh scent. It does not really have any noticeable fragrance or scent and that is a down point for me as I like a nice fresh scent on my clothes. They seem to be fresher and cleaner when they have a nice smell. The detergent does work well and is environmentally friendly but I don't think I will buy it again as it has no scent to it. I definitely would recommend it though as it cleans well and it is good for sensitive skin as well as babies.

I first tried Seventh Generation Natural 2X Concentrated Laundry Detergent Blue Eucalyptus & Lavender to wash my families bedding. I was looking for relaxing scents to help my children sleep better, and have seen research stating lavender can be relaxing. I also wanted an eco friendly prodcut that would be gentle on their skin. Our world is full of pollution and toxins already, why put them against out skin for eight hours at a time, every night? I love that Seventh Generation's detergent in non-toxic and hypoallergenic. This product is safe for HE washers, which is also important, as I have a HE washer. This detergent is great for all laundry, not just bedding. It is concentrated, so make sure you just don't pour and use more than needed. The cleaning power is perfect for all your laundry needs, I wash my children's play clothes also and have never had to rewash anything. This is a great family product.

The seventh generation products are amazing, and its refreshing to see more companies try and follow suit with products that aren't so harsh or potentially harmful to you. Its a step in the right direction. The detergent works fine to clean clothes, there is no big difference between this and the detergents that do feature some questionable chemicals in them. Now I haven't really used it yet for clothes that are really dirty, like grass stains from sports, but those are not what you typically need to clean anyway. This is perfect for normal washing. It is perfect for sensitive skin and you can feel comfortable using it if you have allergies or children/babies. Scent I like the scent, as it is not overpowering. I still prefer the free and clear which is not scented, but this offers a nice change of pace and you don't need to worry about it being too strong on your clothing.

I'm already a huge fan of the Seventh Generation detergents, but I usually but the free and clear detergent. This time I ended up getting the Blue Eucalyptus plus Lavender, because the scent sounded wonderful. The Seventh Generation Blue Eucalyptus plus Lavender is all natural, hypoallergenic, and non toxic. It does a fantastic job at getting rid of stains, odors, and even dirt/mud from my garden clothes. They use 100% natural essential oils for the fragrance, so the fragrance is not made with any harsh fragrances or chemicals. The scent is not strong, and it does not bother my allergies. It actually soothes my whole body, and makes me feel relaxed. All my clothes are in better condition, and last much longer after switching to Seventh Generation. Performance It's gentle on my clothes and skin, but it It gets rid of all stains, and eliminates the odors in my clothes by leaving a light and beautiful aromatherapy scent behind. Scent I love the scent of Eucalyptus. It's soothing, and very pleasant. It's a very relaxing scent, especially with the added lavender. I love the aromatherapy scent. It's not strong or irritating either.

I think we can all agree the most important aspect of a detergent is how well it cleans our clothes. First and foremost, if it doesn't clean, why bother. I have been using this 7th Generation detergent pretty much full time now. Why wouldn't I when it works so well and has less harmful chemicals than most other detergents out there? With it being concentrated, you don't use as much, and you don't need that much anyways, so it's not anymore expensive than other detergents. I have an HE (front loader) washing machine, so I have to be careful what kinds of detergents I buy. This works great with our front loader with no residue left over. There are no artificial colors or dyes in this stuff, which is excellent. When I use Tide, it has an unnatural, eerie blue to it. Can't be good, especially for our water and septic system. I really couldn't be happier with a detergent like Seventh Generation. Scent Very pleasant and not too strong.

Seventh Generation used to be one of my go-to brands, but not anymore. at some point, they started putting sodium laureth sulfate back in their products. I didn't realize they had changed formulations until I couldn't stop itching! I found out about the SLS addition the hard way. I gleefully washed all of my sheets and nightclothes after using a different brand for a little while. Huge mistake. I couldn't stop itching! I ended up with a monstrous rash and hives. I had to wash everything in hot water and vinegar to get the residue out. Once I switched detergents again, no more itching. It also caused a massive flare up of KP, the little bumps some people get on their arms near the elbows. I had also eradicated mine. Now it's back with vengeance. The detergent also doesn't seem to work as well as it used to. It doesn't get whites bright, and my colors are looking muddy. NOT for sensitive skin! NOT for babies! Skip this brand over and try something else for the money. Performance Whites dingy, clothes muddy. Scent Pleasant smell that doesn't linger and make you smell like a laundry room with legs.

I have finally found a detergent that is natural and non irritating to my sensitive skin. It didn't break me out and was a pleasant product overall. The smell of this isn't too bad. It is very natural and earthy with hints of flowers. The lavender is quite nice but I don't care much for the eucalyptus part. I get an okay amount of suds with this in my washing machine. It also suds up nicely in my HE washer. It does alright washing normal soiled laundry but it seems to lack in the stain fighting department. I can use a bit less of this in my HE washer than in my regular washer. This is supposed to be highly concentrated so you have to use less of it. I don't know if I notice that much or not but I do use less of this in my high efficiency machine. I love that this product is natural. It suds well, it does okay with moderately soiled clothes, the smell is alright, and it doesn't hive me out. The cons of this product are that it costs a little more than other detergents and it could fight stains better. Performance Overall it is a good product. It has a good amount of suds and it's all natural. I do wish it fought stains a little harder. Scent The scent is alright but I don't care much for the eucalyptus. It reminds me of a medicinal smell.

Very pleased with this detergent. The smell was really nice. It twas a refreshing break from the scents that I am so used to smelling in my detergents. This one had lots of bubbles when I poured it into the machine, and to me this means that it is working. And the end result proved that it did. My clothes came out of the machine smelling absolutely fantastic and they looked clean, too. The detergent is gently and easy on the skin so it is safe and effective enough for even a baby or those who have asthma or allergies but don't want to miss out on the pleasing smells. Overall this is a great detergent that cleans the clothes as it should while also leaving them smelling great. And, it is priced right, and this is always very important when I am spending my money on a product. It costs about the same as other leading detergents on the market and is just as effective. Finally, it is safe for the environment so you're doing an extra favor when you make the purchase.

I have always been a big fan of Seventh Generation products and this laundry detergent probably tops my list. When looking for a safe detergent to use for my newborn daughter I wanted to make sure it was safe to use for sensitive skin. This product is gentle yet effective and I feel good knowing it is natural and has less chemicals than other brands. My husband has sensitive skin and this is the only detergent that he can use on his clothes and not have a reaction. I only want the best for my baby and this is it. Performance This detergent cleans effectively, doesn't leave a strong odor on the clothes, and doesn't ruin the fabric. I use it on sheets, towels, clothes, and baby items. I have never had anything ruined due to this detergent. I use this along with the Seventh Generation fabric softener and my clothes and sheets come out great. Scent This detergent is just mild enough. I hardly smell it.

Trying to become a little more environmentally friendly is something that we strive for in my house, but sometimes it isn't as easy as I wish it was. With that being said, the Seventh Generation Natural 2X Concentrated Detergent is a great Eco-friendly detergent that does a good job at cleaning my laundry without the hefty price tag. The scent is definitely different than the average detergent and has a nice blend of eucalyptus and lavender which gives my clothes a subtle, clean scent. My son has sensitive skin and we have been using it and it has been working great at keeping his break outs at bay.
