This small safe is good for keeping important things out of harms way in the event your home becomes damaged. It is not reliable enough for theft protection because it can be grabbed and the lock picked later. Its good to keep documents in or small items away from the elements. Its small and light and easy to hide. I keep smaller items in this for safe keeping but my valuables go into my large gun safe that can't be stolen or broken into. If you just want safe storage this is good to have but if you want to keep valuables safe this probably isn't a good choice because it's more ment for fire and water protection.

I am giving the Sentry fire-safe security chest an 8 only because it is fire-proof, but if you want your items secure from theft.......this is not the safe for you. My husband was gone with the keys and I needed a title out of it, so I just popped it open in less than two minutes with a screwdriver. I wish it were a bit more roomy but for the price it can't be beat for storing important papers that you want to protect from fire. I would keep my valuables in an actual safe or at the bank.

I've used the Sentry Safe for numerous occasions such as a cash box, jewel safe, cash register etc. It's extremely durable. The only issue is sometimes the lock can be picked if you really know what you're doing, someone did steal from mine once. But if you're looking for physical safety of your belongings rather than theft safety in general, this would be a good pick because it is waterproof & fire proof. I have actually tested the waterproof ability, passes inspection! As for fire, I've not tested it for MY safety issues! :)
