My all time favorite gaming system!

5

I remember when I first got my Sega Saturn, I had just finished grade school and got it as a graduation gift of sorts. It cost some ungodly amount of money for a gaming system at the time, but man was it ever worth it! I still have my Sega Saturn hooked up and play it often, and while the graphics might not be the best compared to today's standards they still manage to hold up very well after all these years. Some of my all time favorite games are on the Sega Saturn such as: Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men Children of the Atom, Dragon Force, Shining Forces III, Saturn Bomberman, Panzer Dragoon, Nights, Die Hard Arcade, Virtua On, Baku Baku Animal, Shining the Holy Ark, Mr. Bones, Shining Wisdom and the list could go on and on! You won't find many of these games anywhere else, so you really owe it to your self to look into investing a little money in picking up this gem of a system and trying out a few of these classics games. I will warn you now though that some of the best Saturn games go for a small fortune these days, so be on the look out for deals when ever possible, best once you play them for yourself I'm sure you'll agree they were well worth it!

One of Sega's best consoles

4

Sega Saturn is a console that, in my opinion, is greatly overlooked. It had great classics like the Panzer Dragoon Saga, Guardian Heroes, NiGHTS into Dreams, and much more. The console itself is relatively small and is black, unless you got the international version which is white; personally I prefer the sleek black version. The controllers for this console, while not having the great feel of an SNES controller, has a dexterity that was revolutionary back then (especially the one that came out for NiD) and is still splendid today; though, yes, it is a tad on the clunky side. The Saturn's loading time isn't much longer than today's newest consoles. And while the graphics for Saturn can't compare to the new consoles, it's games can. Sonic, which Sega as of late has been pimpin' out, is not one of Saturn's memorable games. Instead Sega's NiGHTS into Dreams trumped the spiny blue mascot. NiD featured a harlequin clad in purple clothing who soars through the skies. Now while this might sound like an odd concept for a game, once you sit down and actually play it, you'll be hooked and pleasantly surprised by the story's depth. Other games like Guardian Heroes allotted you an RPG plot with fighting game gameplay, and multiple endings and ways of attaining those endings. So overall, Sega Saturn is a console worth buying, just so long as you buy the right games for it. And that shouldn't be a problem seeing how Saturn had so many great games.
