Sea Queen Shrimp & Crab Cakes - a delicious seafood treat

4

For a little treat around the holidays, my husband bought a package of **Sea Queen Shrimp & Crab Cakes** from Aldi's. There are two cakes in a package at a net wt. of 6 oz. Each cake contains 190 Calories, 11g of Fat, 130mg of Cholesterol, 280mg of Sodium, 8g of Carbohydrates which includes 4g of Sugars, and 13g of Protein. Percentages of Daily Minimum Requirements are: Vitamin A 8%, Calcium 6%, Vitamin C 15% and Iron 15% based on a 2,000 calorie diet. I'm not a shrimp lover, so I picked those out and gave them to my husband. The crab is Blue Swimming Crab. My husband doesn't like peppers; but they didn't seem to bother him since the cakes contain red bell and green bell pepper. There are anchovies listed as an ingredient which is the first time I've seen anchovies in a seafood cake. The crab & shrimp cakes contain our old nemesis, high fructose corn syrup, if you watch for that ingredient in foods. The cakes can be broiled, baked or pan fried and carry Aldi's Double Quality Guarantee, which made me feel a little better since this product comes from China. These shrimp and crab cakes were quite tasty with some cocktail sauce and/or tartar sauce, (we usually have both), and were quite affordable. If you're looking for something a little different to spice up a special occasion, you might want to try Sea Queen Shrimp & Crab Cakes.
