I got the Samsung a167 Go phone for free with a new 2 yr. contract with ATT. Since it was free i really can't complain too much.  I am older and not at all tech savvy so the basic features that the Samsung Gophone has are good enough for what i need it for,  which is mostly being able to keep in touch with my kids or take calls from my clients. It has been dropped numerous times and got wet once for a few seconds and still kept working. So far it has been quite durable and i can be pretty hard on a phone. I like the blue color of the outside. I don't do any texting so haven't had to use that feature. And i don't use the phone to connect to the internet (yet) so have not played around with that feature at all.  Like i said before it is a pretty basic phone and since my needs are pretty basic this has been a good deal for me.  I don't know if i would get it if i had to pay for it, and as i get better at using cell phones i'm getting to the point where i need something more up to date.

The Samsung a167 GoPhone is a pretty good GoPhone for its price.  It has a camera, text messaging capabilities, mobile email, speaker phone, Answer Tones, call forwarding, and quite a few other features.  It really is a good phone.  My husband bought this to replace my older GoPhone and I am really liking this one.  I live in a trailer with a metal roof.  It is very hard to get any kind of reception in this building.  But I can get at least one bar with this phone.  Cons of this phone is that it doesn't have a way to hook it up to the computer to remove the photos.  Nor can you blue tooth them.  You have to use the web broswer/mobile email to send them to the net to access them.  Another con is that the camera is not the best.  It is simple and will capture memories, but do not expect those pictures to be clear or sharp.  They will be lower quality but at least you can capture photos.  If you want clear sharp photos, get a better more expensive phone.  Would I recommend this phone? Yes.

Okay, so I took the free phone when I got my new contract. And it was a samsung, and it took about twenty five minutes to set it up at the phone store with a very patient employee.  And I took it home, and the speakephone did not seem to work so well, so I returned it for another.  Since then I have had it for almost two years, counting the days when I can get a new phone and hopefully not a samsung.  I lost my  car charger on a vacation, and it is nearly impossible to get another one for this model.  I had to go from store to store to finally get  a universal one with several nibs and one that worked.  Then I again had problems with the speaker phone that goes in and out , so just when you think you need to up the volume the louder volume kicks in and it blares in your ear.  Lovely.  Everyone thinks it is cute; I have a red one and it is compact, and the flip is always a good choice.  It never breaks, even when I keep dropping it when I am rummaging for my car keys at the same time. But that may be the drawback, because if it broke, I would have be able to replace it and been satisfied with a different model earlier in the contract.

The Samsung a167 cell phone has never let me down. I have dropped it countless times in the 2 years that I have had it, and it still works for me. I have even dropped it in a sink full of water and it still works after blow-drying it.
