I would call Sally's Flat Iron the ideal hair straightening heat tool for the typical "every-girl." If you aren't made of money or incredibly particular about brand names and lables with flashy sounding claims of new, miracle, cutting edge technology, and you just want a high quality, reliable heat styling tool to get your hair straight, I suggest you try Sally's flat iron. I'm convinced that this tool works just as well as the higher priced flat irons I've tried, and since I care much more about the performance of my hair straightener then having a status symbol name brand hair tool to feel like I'm cool and trendy, then this is perfect for me. The price is fair, it's durable and dependent, and this heat tool gets the job done for almost all hair, I'm not sure about ethnic hair, however. Effectiveness Heats up quickly, and for my naturally wavy, fairly thick hair it gives me a very straight and sleek style, with minimal effort and time put into my straightening. Durability I am known to knock my hair straightener off the counter onto the floor once in a while on those rushed mornings, and so far this tool stands strong against my tile floor!

*I went to Sally's for advice on their flat irons.  At the time I had 2 teenagers living with me and with 3 of us using the flat irons it seemed like we were lucky if we were getting a years worth out of the flat iron.* *At the time we had a 1 inch iron and a 2 inch iron.  I loved the 1 inch iron 4 my bangs and to reach the roots of my hair on the top of my head.  But also liked the 2 inch for getting thru my thick hair but it would leave crippled marks in my hair.* *When I went to Sally's it was explained to me the difference between their flat irons.  Being a single parent I didn't have the money to be spending 60 some bucks on a flat iron, but decided to take a chance on quality instead of cheap this time and bought the 1 1/2 inch iron, and have been very satisfied ever since and feel the money was well worth spent.  The iron has lasted me 2 1/2 years and still going strong.  * *The only complaint I have about the flat iron, is the very end of the iron, (its the cooling end where you can touch the iron while straightening if need be) the plastic pieces keep coming off.  I finally just kept them off as I got tired of trying to put the end pieces back on all the time.  Plus by keeping them off my hair isn't getting caught in between the plastic any more.  * *I also love how the cord is still in good shape like the day I bought it.  Most cords you end up having a tangled up mess and this one - I don't have a kink in it - the cord is perfectly straight.  No cord mess to deal with. *
