I learned how to foam roll last year and it's something that will stay with me always. It is tricky if you don't know what you are doing, but, if you google it, you will come up with the best exercises to do with a foam roller. Make this part of your weekly exercise routine and you won't regret it. Even if you aren't big into exercising, it is good to do once a week, to stay loose. The principle is, myofascia, that covers muscles, get tight and that makes your muscles tight and prone to injury even with daily activities. If you apply pressure on the parts that are tight, stay on the tense part, it might pain immensely, it will loosen up in 30 seconds. You can do foam rolling once a week. Don't do it too often. Read about it online or ask a GOOD trainer at the gym who knows his/her stuff! The spri foam roller is a good one.
