This paint did not help my countertops at all!

3

I bought this paint because I thought it would really help my countertops look better. I wanted to paint the counters in my apartment because they were old looking and a little yellowed around the edges. I, of course, got permission from my landlord first (I think she was just happy I was doing the work and not her). I took off work on a Saturday to do the job. The paint went on fairly smoothly and I only had to use two coats to cover everything. Unfortunately, that is where the good news stops. After the painted the counters, I sat down to relax until it dried. I came in a couple hours later to find that the paint was bubbling and cracked in some places. It looked terrible. I was very unhappy because it definitely not fly with my landlord if I kept the counters that way. I had to scrape the bad paint and repaint with another countertop paint. It ended up taking me two days to complete the job. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing this paint again. I do not recommend it at all. Do not use this paint for your counters; it is terrible.

Saves your counters!

My kitchen laminate countertops were getting old and yellowed and I thought I was going to have to go through the expense of repainting them. A friend of mine told me that he had used Rust-Oleum countertop paint in his RV and recommended the product to me. I figured it couldn't hurt to try, so with much skepticism I tried it out. I am so glad I did! It goes on in easy layers and my old ugly counters look like they had a face lift. They are once again beautiful and I saved myself a lot of money by reusing the old. This product will save your countertops and your budget! I highly suggest this to anyone who is frustrated with the way their counters look but do not have the money for a kitchen renovation. An added perk is because I am reusing my old counters, I am leaving a smaller environmental foot step by recycling the old. Quality It worked better than I thought it would. I had no idea that paint could be put on top of laminate and come out looking so good! Durability The paint has not cracked or peeled or streaked like I feared it would. Coverage It covered everything with a minimum amount of paint! Ease of Appliation This paint is very easy to use.

We just refurbished a vintage travel trailer. We mostly used all Restoleum products throughout. This was really convenient and easy to use. We replaced all of the counter tops from the kitchen to the bathroom. Because it is only a twenty foot trailer we did not have much counter top to cover. We were able to get everything done with one box. This defiantly is a lengthy project but the final project is amazing. I think we sanded for an entire day. The look came out so sleek. For us it was worth it. Durability It has been holding up strong for three months now. No scratches, gouges or dents. Looking good. Coverage If you are doing a big project I would recommend getting a second box. You really want to make sure you get a solid base coat. Ease of Appliation This really cut the project time and price in half. We are more than satisfied with Restoleum. Please where a mask even if you are outdoors. This stuff is pretty stinky.

Rustoleum should stop selling this product.

Do not buy this product. In spite of following directions to the letter, this product was not only a waste of money but a complete waste of time. It bubbled and streaked, which at Rustoleums advise meant it would require being sanded and given another coating. Second coat looked good - for about 24 hours. It chips and scratches when you sneeze on it, showing the original white countertop underneath. 2 months later, of normal use, the countertop is a disaster. Rustoleum offered me APOLOGIES and a full refund, when I provided them my receipt and the tops of both boxes. (Oh gosh - I didn't SAVE the boxes.) They could not, however, offer me a fix or repay me for inconvenience of going for a full week with my kitchen dismantled. And now before I can list my home, I must either replace the countertops totally or try another more expensive Rustoleum product to hide this mess. No help from Rustoleum on that. Don't buy this product. Quality Poor quality. Should not be permitted on the market. Durability Totally lacking in durability. Chips appear out of nowhere. No kidding. Coverage It paints on - but not well. Ease of Appliation If you follow the instructions, prep thoroughly and use quality foam rollers the process isn't that difficult.

An expensive primer

2

Rustoleum countertop paint turned out to be an expensive primer.  It bubbled and streaked, certainly not the look one wants for a countertop.  Any water drops turn into unsightly spots until it completely dries.  I ended up using acrylic paints stippled (sea sponge) on top of the Rustoleum to create a faux granite look and then sealed it with a clear sealant to protect the finish.   I would not recommend this product.
