I have two Rusk Ceramic flat irons, this model with 1.5 inch plates and another one with 1 inch plates.  I love them both.  While the 1 inch provides more flexible/versatile styling options, this one is perfect for straightening, smoothing, and defrizzing my long, thick hair in a hurry.  The larger plates make it much quicker to use than the 1 inch model for straightening.  It will also bend the ends, but not as well as the models with smaller plates.  The iron has multiple adjustable temperature settings so you can minimize damage by using the lowest setting that works for your hair texture.  My hair is thicker and kinkier in the back and at my crown, so I use a higher setting for that area than I use on the hair that frames my face.  Rusk products are always high quality, and this one doesn't dissapoint!  It leaves my hair silky, shiny, smooth, and free of annoying frizziness, kinks, and curls.
