I actually purchased this as one of my very first ice cream makers because of the slimmer design that I figured would take up less of the precious space on my countertop. I liked that it wasn't round like some of the other machines. And it had a little hole in the top that allowed you to add ingredients such as crushed cookies, sprinkles, or chocolate shavings without stopping the machine. That meant that the add-ins got mixed in very thoroughly and there were no clumps anywhere. This was a bit noisy and took quite a while to freeze the ice cream to a useable consistency. It seems like it has a significantly less powerful motor than other models I have used. After a few months of occasional use I started having problems with the motor overheating while churning the ice cream, even one without add-ins. It never actually burned out, but it definitely got very warm. Overall, this was an okay model but there are much better ones out there that are more powerful.
