I have four kids, and this toaster oven does all it needs to to get us set with waffles or toaster strudels or frozen pancakes in the morning. With two racks, I can cook about 8 waffles at a time, which is necessary with 4 kids. One drawback to this machine is that it has two racks, which I think are both too close to the heating elements. Inevitably, the top rack waffles have a line across their tops where there is slight burning because it is too close to the heating element, and the bottom rack waffles have the same line across their bottom. If you are cooking for smaller groups and using the toaster oven I would suggest taking out one wire rack and using only one on the middle setting. There is also a tray with the toaster oven which is great for meats; we like to heat left over meats in the toaster oven because they will cook slower than in the microwave, which leaves them tough. I can't imagine downgrading to a smaller toaster oven.
