I've tried numerous wet/dry vacuums over the years and most have their problems. This was a good option, but ultimately not the ideal solution for me. I liked all the different attachments. The extension wands that fit onto the hose really helped when getting into small spaces. The wet nozzle did a nice job of sucking up water off the floor. It left almost no water left after it went over a smooth surface. As for power, this is quite powerful. It provides great suction, which is especially important when picking up water. It also did a great job when picking up in dry mode. I had a great experience with it picking up sand from a leaking sand bag in the garage, as well as fine sawdust. Overall, this is a solid option for both wet and dry. It performs well and is very sturdy. The handle on top makes for easy transportation. While it is not the best I've ever used it's a good, solid option.

I am the owner of a 100+ year old home. Last year, we chose to finish our basement and as part of the process, we put drainage tiles in our basement.In most weather conditions, even excessive rainfall, the basement does exceptionally well-- and remains dry. However, this week in Chicago, we got record high rainfall- 8 inches in one day. My basement withstood the water levels pretty well-- except for in one room. (of course, the carpeted room). The drainage tiles could not keep up with the excessive water levels.My husband and I got out the **SHOP VAC** and started sucking up the water as it spread across the room and underneath our carpet. We filled the shop vac almost 4x with water suction before we stopped and crossed our fingers.We dont yet know if it is going to do the job, and keep us from pulling out all our carpet. But, we do know that it kept us from having standing water in our basement. And, for that, I am very grateful to the shopvac.Keep your fingers crossed for me! Maneuverability Of course the Shop Vac is a large device so it is a little hard to maneuver. With that said, I was able to get in every square inch I needed! Suction Performance I was completely addicted to the suction performance of the Shop Vac. Versatility Love that you can use the Shop Vac for both wet and dry material. Durability The durability of our ShopVac is second to none.

I do not know how I managed before purchasing my ridgid shop vac. It has been one of the most usefull tools that I have added to my inventory. I have used mine around the house for quick clean-up of a variety of home improvement projects. I've used it to vacuum out my vehicles. I have cleaned up liquid spills with it. I have also hooked the hose onto the blower spout and used it to clean the dust and other small debris out of my garage. It is a simple task to convet the this vacuum from a dry vac to a wet vac. No tools are needed when removing the filter. The casters are strong and durable and even when I have had a tank full of water it still rolls easily and smoothly. The attachments are quite useful and you can purchase (as I did) hose extensions to make the vacuum/blower even more useful without having to pack the tank around. For the price and the good name of Ridgid you cannot go wrong with this wet/dry vacuum. I highly recommend it to anyone out there looking for a good quality, highly useful, user friendly, reliable, shop vac.

The rigid 14 gallon Pro Vac is all you will ever need in a vacuum.  It has great power to pick up anything from a paper clip to pieces of drywall.  I use this rigid vac to clean my bedroom as well as my garage.  Forget about buying a cannister vac for some things and buy an upright vac for others.  This vacuum with a few attachments is all you will ever need.  I love my rigid products especially my vac.  no bags, no hassles, clean up wet or dry.  This vacum wil clean up a spilled drink like it never happend.  I am a contractor and have been through many vacuums to be able to clean up all sorts or things big and small conveniently and I this is the vacuum I keep in my truck. Look for this and other size vacuums from the Rigid product line and you cant go wrong.

In most weather conditions, even excessive rainfall, the basement does exceptionally well-- and remains dry.  In 2005 the Cit of Gay, In main sewer line broke and our house it the pipes crossing for the street we live on.Of course we got all kind of STUFF in our basement from this drain. My basement  (of course, the carpeted room). The drainage tiles could not keep up with the excessive water levels.For us to be albe to use our water and have the water not get so high, My husband and I got out the **SHOP VAC** and started sucking up the water as it spread across the room and underneath our carpet. We filled the shop vac almost 20x with water suction before we stopped and crossed our fingers.But, we do know that it kept us from having standing water in our basement. And, for that, I am very grateful to the shopvac.Even though we haven't headr from the sewage company we are glad we have the shop-vac to help us each time the water comes up. Thank you shop-vac
