I like a few of the Ricola cough drops, so when I saw the Ricola Green Tea with Echinacea Sugar Free cough drops, I was pretty excited. Echinacea is suppose to be great for helping colds, and I often take it in a gummy form. The one thing that I was not fond of, was that you have to take 2 to get relief. And the second was, my gosh these taste absolutely awful. I could barely get through one, let alone two. And I didn't think they worked as well at helping my cough or soothe my throat as say the cherry ones do. And third, one thing that I really hate is that it has aspartame in it. There are so many alternatives out there today, I wish companies would stop using aspartame. It is so horrible for you. So needless to say, this bag of cough drops went into the trash pretty quick, while I decided to go back to the store and get a cough drop that tasted better, works and doesn't have aspartame in it. And of course some echinacea gummies.

Ricola Green Tea Throat Drops to the Rescue...Sort Of

If a cough is driving you crazy, a simple cough drop may do, but an ordinary cough drop won't be enough if other health symptoms accompany the cough. One of the more common accompaniments to a cough is a sore throat and there is one product similar to a cough drop that takes care of both. It is **Ricola Green Tea with Echinacea Sugar Free Throat Drops.** ** ** **Cold Medicine Commentary:** Ricola Green Tea with Echinacea Sugar Free Throat Drops are small lozenges that contain the active ingredient Menthol (4.5 mg), which acts as an oral pain reliever. The manufacturer recommends taking two drops at a time for best results. As the product slowly dissolves, it sends medicine down the throat to help eliminate pain and control coughing. I don't usually experience a bad cough, so for me, cough drops and throat lozenges are usually all I need for some quick relief. Ricola Green Tea with Echinacea Sugar Free Throat Drops are usually good enough to at least put a dent in my cough and soothe my throat. My coughing is usually due to allergies and isn't that bad. A medicine like this helps eliminate some of the annoyance and discomfort associated with coughing so I can get my mind off of my throat and concentrate on more important things. Ricola Green Tea with Echinacea Sugar Free Throat Drops are fairly good for a throat lozenge and they do make a difference. However, they do have a few potential problem areas one must consider before using. One is that the product contains asparatame. This is fine for those who don't want the sugar, but it could definitely be a problem for others. Another is that the drops are not highly effective the way some might need or prefer. Yes, they are convenient and they do make some difference, but don't expect them to tackle a really bad cough or very sore throat. **Bottom Line Viewpoint:** ** ** Ricola Green Tea with Echinacea Sugar Free Throat Drops are a good product, but not a great product and depending on your condition, they may not make much difference. I find them acceptable overall, but I don't recommend them for a really tough cough or sore throart. Congestion Relief The added mentol can do a little to help open sinuses. Cough Suppression A little cough relief here, but not much.

awful taste

Generally, I am a pretty loyal Ricola fan, but I have to say that these are the worst tasting cough drops I have ever put in my mouth. I cannot even tell you about whether or not they work, because I had to spit it out pretty soon. The cough drop is described as being green tea flavored with echinacea, but, honestly, I cannot even describe what it tastes like. Definitely not like green tea, though, I can tell you that much. The fact that it was sugar free probably did not help, as it had an artificial, fake sweet taste that was also a little bitter. All I know is that it left the worst aftertaste in my mouth and I had to rinse my mouth out with water to try to get rid of the lingering flavor. I feel a little guilty for ragging on Ricola, but they seriously need to fix/revise this flavor. Stick with the Ricola Natural Herb glavor and you will not be sorry. I definitely do not recommend this flavor.

Ricola Green Tea with Echinacea Cough suppressant throat drops work ridiculously well.  They will stop your coughing in a matter of minutes and will make you feel better.  These cough drops will give you effective relief because of their ingredient.  They have menthol, 4mg in them, which is a cough suppressant and will give you oral pain relief.  It will also help you fight off inhaled irritants and irritants are all around us.  These cough drops are "sugar free" and will fight coughs naturally and will definitely soothe your sore throat.    The Ricola flavor I am writing about is the green tea with Echinacea flavor and they taste amazing.  Just perfect tasting.  I give the flavor of these cough drops a "10".  If you purchase these you will get "19 drops" in each bag and the design on the packaging is very pleasing to the eye and will definitely get these cough drops noticed.  The green tea and the Echinacea, which is in this product, are "Oh, so good for you!"  I can't say anything bad about this product, only good things.  I just wish they weren't so expensive.  They cost a lot and once you love these, you never want to run out of them.  These cough drops are "not" for children under the age of 6, as it says on the packaging.  Other than that, I highly recommend this product to anyone with a cold or a cough or anyone who loves fantastic tasting throat drops.
