This vacuum is great on pet hair. It is thorough on carpet, flooring and hard wood floors. Maneuverability We had a Riccar prior and although it was a great vacuum, I felt it was tougher than usual to push. The new one is much nicer and glides well. I use it on the stairs, in the basement, sunroom, literally all over the house. Ease of Maintenance It is new so we haven't had any issues but this brand has been great in this area in the past. Suction Performance I love that it gets all the pet hair, crumbs, even wood chips and on ANY surface type. Versatility I use it all over the house, even in the basement. It picks up no matter where you use it. Design It's design is user friendly. Easy to use. Durability We bought another one because these vacuums are great.

We first learned about Riccar vacuum cleaners when my father was shopping for a new vacuum cleaner. He had beige carpet, and a new black lab! He needed something that work well. His Riccar upright has kept that beige carpet clean for years. The store owner who introduced us to Riccar did us a big favor. We went to a small owner-operated store and he took the time to explain how we could choose one vacuum cleaner that would last for years. We have not had to replace this machne for over ten years! I bought one for my home, too. It works great on laminate and tile floors as well as carpeting. Versatility We use the hose and tool attachments to vacuum out our cars, to vacuum upholstery, and to clean baseboards.

I cannot believe the power this has. I was delighted that if you accidently sucked up something, it shuts down, then you can start it again, no burned up motor!

We have just purchased the Riccar and I am very happy with it.. I like the fact that it is made in the United States... What made me fall in love with it was right after we got it home, I started to vacuum with it.. I could hear the dirt getting sucked up out of my carpets.. That showed me that it was making a healther living for my family.. Would not trade it for the world.. My old vacuum (Eureka) is on its way out the door now...

We purchased this mainly based on the fact that it is Made in USA. All of the other vacuums we have owned were not US Made and boy could you tell. They constantly broke and we'd get them repaired and they'd break again. This one is quite costly but it is worth it. It does a fabulous job of sucking up everything in site, even baby socks! We have used it to clean up in our two-story house as well and both of our vehicles. The only reason I did not give it five stars was, and other reviewers have mentioned this, is it is very heavy. So carrying it up and down stairs is hard and awkward. Also moving it around outside is hard due to the weight. However, this is also a good thing because it shows that it is made of good materials and not cheapo stuff. The vacuum also comes with the standard attachments as well as extra bags. Chaning the bags it not hard either. Very basic and simple. Expensive, but I am sure you won't need to buy another one!

I recently bought a Riccar Vibrance vacuum cleaner after years of Panasonic vacuum cleaners. This vacuum has an actual handle you can put your hand through as opposed to just an end of a handle. It's very easy to maneuver around corners and in tight spots. My house is very small so I do find it a bit big at times but the suction is so good I don't mind. It has a long hose that you can detach and add a brush or nozzle onto the end. The great thing is the hose actually extends another full length. My old Panasonic only had the short hose so I never could use it to reach high places. This hose with a brush on the end can reach up into corners and get those cobwebs. The bag choices are great for this vacuum because you can get the hepa double filter type bag. It has a great light on it that helps you in those darker corners. I didn't buy the back hose attachment for hard floors like the kitchen and bathroom linoleum because I find those too cumbersome. I just use a little cannister or the actual vacuum itself. I find running it over the hard floors doesn't hurt anything and it still picks up good dirt. Is dirt good?!

The Riccar is a very well-made vacuum and is easy to push.  It is also alot more quiet than my past vacuums.  I am impressed with the extra long attachment hose and power cord.  The bags are easy to find online.  Not a bad buy....

Riccar.... the Best vacuum you will ever buy! This vacuum is a little pricey but, comparable in price to other popular brands.  It seemed like I was buying a new vacuum at-least once a year. So I decided I was going to spend more and hope I get a better quality vacuum that would last longer than a year. I went to a store that sell only vacuums, many different brands and models.  The salesman let me test several of the brands.  He first inbeded wool into the carpet, then it was my turn. I thought for sure I was going to end up purchasing the one that is the most "famous" on the market right now.  But that wasn't what happened.I did try that one, and yes it did pick up, but when I took hold of the Riccar none of the others mattered! This vacuum is so light weight, and the suction is so strong it goes by itself.  It picked up the rest of the wool left behind by the other popular brands.  The Riccar uses bags, but to me that's what I like.  No more emptying the canister, and cleaning the filter. Now when your done just put it away!

i returned a Dyson and bought this vacuum instead.  i couldn't be happier.  it has twice as much suction as the dyson, and yet it's so light i can carry it upstairs using just a couple fingers.  it travels easily over wood floors, carpets, and tile, getting each one immaculately clean.

The Riccar vacuum cleaner was affordable for us when we were in desperate need of one. It's a bit heavy to carry up the stairs, but seems to vacuum well. It has quite a few attachments, but you have to store them somewhere else.
