I purchased this flat iron after my previous one struggled to handle my thick hair. The wider head on this one allows it to straighten thick hair without problems. My hair is naturally a little wavy and very thick. I have found that by using this flat iron I can straighten my hair pretty quickly in the mornings. I have to be at work by 7:30 in the morning so my time in the mornings is really limited. This flat iron is great at getting the job done quickly and efficiently. It is one of the best ones I have used. It heats up quickly and performs great. I think the wider head is a wonderful feature. I do not think I will ever go back to the thinner flat iron. It also is great at putting thick waves in your hair if you twirl your hair around the outside of it. I use it as a straightener and a curling iron. I would highly recommend this product. Effectiveness I have found it to be extremely effective. My hair is always incredibly straight after using this. Durability I have not owned mine that long, but it has held up great so far.

I received the Revlon Straight to the Maxx Professional Flat Iron as a gift for my Birthday. I wasn't expecting much because I knew it wasn't expensive, but I am pleased so far with it's performance. I have somewhat thick and wavy hair and using this flat iron only takes me about 30 minutes to get my hair completely straight and manageable. It heats up quickly and stay hot the entire time I need it. The only downside is that because of the size I have to break my hair up into sections and straighten it that way, so it tends to take a little longer than the average. I'm okay with the length of time it takes because of how nice my hair turns out in the end. I would recommend this to anyone who wants beautifully straight hair without spending too much on a hair straightener. Effectiveness Works very well especially for my somewhat thick and wavy hair. Only takes me about 30 minutes to get my hair completely straight. Durability I use it all the time and haven't had any issues with it. I have had it for several months now.

I initially decided to invest in the Revlon Straight To The Maxx Professional Flat Iron because although I regularly relax my daughter's hair, it still need some taming in between processes. The flat iron has separate heating plates and the level of warmth can be adjusted as well. The plate isn't too wide so it can take a bit longer to do for thicker grades of hair. It is also best to use a heat activated hair treatment with this type of flat iron. The flat iron's highest setting is perfectly sufficient for thick hair and it is quite effective for straightening purposes although I have to be careful not to use it to often because too much usage can damage my daughter's hair. It is easier to use than a straightening comb because it's much easier to prevent scalp burns with this flat iron than it is to do it with a straightening comb. It is honestly worth the small amount it costs, considering it's overall usefulness as well as it's durability and adjustable setting - most of which a regular straightening comb doesn't have. It is an inexpensive product that can be used in between relaxers to maintain a straight and manageable look and feel. Effectiveness If you have course hair, you will have to do small sections and it can take longer.

I got this flat iron for my birthday last year, and I have to say that it works really well. My hair is thick and I'm african american so the flat iron does a great job of taming my hair. It also has rounded edges so that I can curl my hair as I flat iron it. This gives it a little body instead of being dull and flat. I also have to say that this flat iron heats up really quick. I can leave the bathroom for a moment, and by the time im back to flat iron my hair, it's ready to be used. The heating settings ranges from 1 through 12. The iron also comes with instructions that gives suggestions for what setting to use based on the structure of your hair. I typically flat iron my hair twice a month and I haven't burned myself so far. However I have to say that the flat iron's heat is very intense. Sometimes when someone flat irons my hair for me, It feels like they're touching my scalp with the flat iron but they aren't. It feels that way because the heat can get very intense. The one problem I have the flat iron, is that sometimes the hair doesnt get completely straight especially the ends.

When I first bought the Revlon Straight to the max I was under the influence that if it was cheap it wouldn't work. I was wrong. The Revlon Straight to the max is by far the best straightener I have ever used! I have thick somewhat wavy hair and to get my hair straight it would take me an hour. Now it only takes me about 20 minutes. I even tried it on my friend who has thick curly hair and before I used it she said " It won't work, no straightener works on my hair." I could easily straighten her hair with the Revlon, it works for any kind of hair.

**When I first saw the Revlon Straight to the Maxx flat iron I was a little skeptical, that was until I got it home and used it for the first time. See I have Thick hair and didn't think it would work right but boy was I wrong. It did not take it log to heat up and I never burnt my finger's while using it like I have with other flat irons this one has what I call finger holders on the end so you never burn yourself. Not to forget the variable heat settings, the 170 watts of power and a seperate  heating system for each plate this thing amazed me. Now every time I wash my hair instead of pulling out the one I had before I go right for this one and never complain about how long it takes to do my hair. My boyfriend thought I was crazy when I told him I was in love with my flat iron and after laughing at me he asked why that was, so I told him this.... Every one I have had before this one would shut off in the middle of me doing my hair and this one has yet to do it also its easy to carry along for over night trips it slides right in the bag and doest take up too much room.** **So would I recommed this to friends and family you bet I would without any hesitation at all!**
