This Fantasy Mascara is more like a bad dream in my opinion.
I'm not normally as negative in my reviews as I am going to be in this one. I always tell the truth, but there is usually something positive that can be said a product. I can't think of anything positive to say about **Revlon Lash Fantasy Primer & Mascara 101 Blackest Black**. I remember buying this mascara a year or so ago. I remember using it four or five times and I remember deciding it was a lost cause and buying a different mascara. I have been going through my cosmetics lately, trying to see what I need to buy for the winter, what I need to remember I like the most that I have been using during the summer so that I will use it again when spring comes, and throwing away 'junk' that I never should have kept in the first place. This mascara falls into the latter category. Let me just say that it's a remote possibility that the tube of mascara that I bought had been sitting on the shelf for a long time. If that's what happened, then I apologize for all of the negative things that I'm going to write in this review. I'm now going to tell you my experience with **Revlon Lash Fantasy Primer & Mascara 101 Blackest Black**. This mascara has two sides. One is a very white primer and the other is the mascara. The specific directions are: *"**Get the look:*** - ***Step 1** - Apply primer to lashes. * - ***Step 2** - Add 2-3 coats of mascara for desired lash look.* *Removes easily with soap and water."* My problem with this two step process is very simple. By the time I was finished using the primer, and began applying the mascara, the primer had dried as stiff as a board and the mascara colored the primer black but there was no way to seperate, lengthen, or give my lashes more volume. It wasn't like regular mascara where you can make your lashes longer and thicker looking by applying two or three coats. Whatever I achieved with the primer was all I was going to get. Well, it's a little difficult to tell how thick or long your eyelashes are when they are chalk-white. I would use the primer, think my eyelashes looked good, apply the mascara, and realize that I didn't have long, thick eyelashes at all. They needed several more coats to get the look I'm used to having and like. But the primer was already dry and the mascara wasn't strong enough to break through it and add any volume or length. It was very frustrating. The more mascara I tried to put over the primer, the more my lashes clumped together. The description Revlon gives about this mascara is a far cry from what I experienced when I used it, but I'll give you **their description **anyway: *"Revlon Lash Fantasy Total Definition**Blackest Black 101 Mascara.* - *5x the impact - No Clumps * - *With Carbon Black * - *Exclusive Lash Separating Brush * - *Primer & Mascara * - *Ophthalmologist tested * - *Non irritating * - *Suitable for contact lens wearers * - *Safe for sensitive eyes* ***What it does: **"Revlon Lash Fantasy Total Definition primer and mascara nourishes, thickens and lengthens lashes with amazing definition, for beautiful, stop-them-in-their-tracks fantasy lashes!"* ***How it works: ****"Vitamin enriched primer nourishes, lifts and makes lashes look up to 70% longer. **Mascara with Carbon Black pigment, delivers thickness and rich, intense color impact that lasts all day, without smudging or flaking. **New Lash Separating brushes comb through every single lash for beautiful definition without clumping. **5x the impact = 2x the thickness + 1.7x the length + 1.3x the lift.* ***Ingredients:*** - **Primer:** Aqua (Water, Eau), Paraffin, Stearic Acid, PPG-17/IPDI/DMPA Copolymer, Acacia Senegal Gum, Cera Carnauba (Copernicia Cerifera Wax), Cera Alba (Beeswax), Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyceryl Stearate, Triethanolamine, Tricontanyl PVP, Dimethiconol, Lecithin, Panthenol, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Stearyl Esters, Tocopheryl Acetate, Simethicone, Polysorbate 20, Retinyl Palmitate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Sorbitan Laurate, Propylene Glycol Laurate, Propylene Glycol Stearate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Nylon-12, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. There are so many mascaras out there that are much, much better than this mascara. My favorite is [The Falsies by Maybelline][1] . There's no sense in buying mascara that may or may not work well for you when you can buy some that will work very well. [1]: http://www.viewpoints.com/Maybelline-The-Falsies-Mascara-review-41a01
