My biggest sleeping issue was not falling asleep, instead it was staying asleep.  I would be absolutely exhausted and fall asleep about 11 and then I would wake up by 2 and not be able to go to sleep.  I talked to my doctor and he said the best thing to stay asleep was not the medicines you see in all the commercials but instead Restoril.  This medicine was a miracle. The 15mg was not quite strong enough so I was moved up tp 30mg.  Since I started taking it I have had more good night's sleeps than bad.  I don't feel all drowsy the net morning either.  Another good thing is that it is a very inexpensive sleeping medication.  An all around great product!

**Having trouble sleeping?  I have a messed up intermnal clock and I am wide awake at night.  I started to stay Temazepam.  It is a better medication for long term use.  It doesn't work as fast as other sleep medication.  I take it and with in a hour or more I am sound alsleep.  It works slower to help you internal clock to work more naturally instead of being "knocked out" or "Groggy feeling" It works slower to help you ease into your sleeping pattern.  However as with all medications it can work differant for each person an can be addictive if taken for a very long period of time.  Only take with medication** under the watchful eye of your doctor.  Temazepam is a very good medication is taken correctly but can still cause drowsiness and never never take with alcohal.  Talk to your doctor to see if it is right for you before ever taking this meication.  But like other medication there can be other side effect to Temazepam.

I went for years not sleeping through the night. Whether it was difficulty getting to sleep, staying asleep, waking up early. I just couldn't get a full night's sleep. I can remember as a child having difficulty sleeping. I took a mild anxiolytic about once a month in latter years when I had my worst day but that didn't last since I wouldn't take more than that. I tried staying off drugs thinking I was smart. Well through all my worst working years when the stress topped over the roof was when I could have used a good sleeping pill. My doc never offered one so I didn't think much about it trying to stay off drugs. It took a medical problem I had with much pain to get my neurologist to prescribe Restoril 30 mg once a night. From the first pill 6 years ago this month, I have finally gotten the sleep that has eluded me my entire life. I thank the Lord for that neurologist prescribing Restoril.

I went my whole working career as an insomniac.I'd tried every way I knew to get a good night's sleep. Sound machine, not napping, dark room, background music playing lightly, read before bed to tire me, nothing. I'd wake up in the middle of the night and not get back to sleep or I had trouble getting to sleep. After I lost my job my doctor finally wrote me a script for a sleeping pill called Restoril or generic version Temazepam. I use the 30 mg strength and can't believe how nice it is to actually get a full night's sleep and sleep all through the night with no wake up at all. I find if I take the drug about an hour before I go to bed I start to get drowsy and know when it's time to get to sleep. I still read before I turn the lights out and still use the sound machine and music but there's nothing like actually getting a real night's sleep and this drug has helped me do it. The nice thing is it's an older product so no real big side effects. You are a bit drowsy upon wakening but once you get up no problem.
