Does not work for small black ants

3

I really liked the idea behind the design which prompted me to purchase this item for my new ant problem. They came marching in 4 by 4 (hurrah, hurrah!) and as this was my very first infestation, I wanted to ensure the dog, cats and kids would not be in any danger by a toxic substance in the house. After two days of watching the little buggers traipse through my kitchen in ranks, I decided they were obviously not interested in the bait (my dog was however because of the peanut butter like scent). I had to take action against the enemy camps so I purchased a bottle of Raid Ant Killer Liquid Insecticide. I filled up 3 beer bottle caps (repurpose!) and placed them on my countertop. Next thing I know, the ranks are falling out of line and having pool parties at the Bottle Cap Oasis. I then punctured two small holes in the tops of the traps that were being so obviously ignored and squeezed a few drops of the liquid on top of the bait. I replaced them and came back after a couple hours to see what was happening. I shone the flashlight in and lo and behold, it was an all out fiesta in the trap!!! They may be guaranteed to work on "most ants" but will not work on the small black ones without a little encouragement. The liquid contains 7.7% Borax which is found in many homemade bait recipes online (but not at my local grocery store lol). So there you have it kids! Bonne Chance!

You may have to "rig" it to get it to work.

When I first brought this product home and placed the traps around the house it did not work. The ants just walked right over it without going inside. In frustration I cut the plastic top off and took some food crumbs and used a toothpick to mix the crumbs into the poison. I placed the trap/bait on the floor. With in 15 minutes the the ants were carrying the poisoned covered crumbs back to the nest. Two days later I could not find a single ant not matter how hard I searched.

We have ant problems every summer. I think the ants like the coolness of our house and come swarming in. The first time we used these ant traps, we set them up in various spots around our house. We noticed a significant decrease in the numbers of ants, but still enough remained for it to be annoying. The following year, we had the same problem, but this time, after laying out the traps in the same spots, there was no effect. I'm not sure if they had grown "immune" to it, since we had used it the year before. We tried it again a couple of years later, and the ants disappeared. Go figure! My in-laws live across the other side of the country, and they also had an ant problem. So we bought these ant traps for them too... unfortuneately, it didn't work for them that year.

Stupid ants.  There is nothing more annoying than having ants, as it really has nothing to do with the cleanliness of your home.  They aren't something you can just get rid of by keeping a better house.  But it is embarassing to have them and hard not to feel like it has something to do with your ability to keep your home clean. Welcome Raid Double Control Ant Baits.  These little suckers do work.  Plus they aren't super expensive, which is an added bonus.  Caution that these baits are not safe for your children (obviously).  Put the baits somewhere where the ants are and your kids are not.  This is probably the most difficult part of the process.  We usually put ours in the bathroom cabinet or somewhere low that the kids don't look.  Just get creative. After a few days you'll notice a decrease in the ant population inside your home.  Give it a few more days and they'll be gone all together.

Raid DC Ant Baits can stay on the store shelf with the uncles.

***Raid DC ant baits may get rid of a few ants the first day but beyond that, they become useless. It seems like the ants find the uncles and soon there are several nieces and nephews crawling around. This is not a product I will waste anymore money on. I would not recommend the Raid DC baits to anyone to rid themselves of creepy crawlies.***

Raid ant traps are a complete waste of money - don't bother.

Ants are annoying.  Especially when they decide to live INSIDE the house.  Each year, at about the same time, we are invaded by small little black ants that move into our kitchen.  I've tried ant traps in the past and never had any success with them, but out of desperation I purchased two packs of *Raid Double Control Ant Baits*.  What supposedly makes these ant traps different is that they provide two ways to kill the ants.  (1) ants crawl in and eat the bait and die.  (2) ants carry the bait to the nest and kill the entire crew.  Neither of those things happened. Each box of *Raid Double Control Ant Baits*includes four black plastic discs that you place in an area that you've seen ants.  There is nothing inconspicuous about these ant traps.  When you put them down, you can't miss them.  Since I was dealing with ants in the kitchen, I had no choice but to place these things on the kitchen counter.  Yuck.  Every time I went into the kitchen, I had to stare these ugly things in the face. Ants seemed to be attracted to the *Raid Double Control Ant Baits*.  They crawled on them, through them, around them...basically making the Raid Double Control Ant Baits their party home.  None of them seemed to die around the ant traps, or even get a little groggy.  NOTHING.  No reaction whatsoever.  Maybe the traps take time to work? Nope.  It's been a week now and the ants are still livin' it up by the traps.  I've tried moving the location of the traps.  I tried grouping them together.  I tried placing them under the counter instead of on the counter.  Nothing.  NOTHING I did with these stupid traps made a bit of difference.  They just do not work. Finally, I grew disgusted with watching the ants take advantage of me and I threw the Raid Double Control Ant Baits away.  Maybe now that I took the ant's party place away they'll leave.  I hope so. **Bottom Line** - Laying out the *Raid Double Control Ant Baits* provided no more results that if I had laid out sugar.  It was a complete waste of money and I will NEVER buy them again.  Save yourself the money and try something else.  If you find something that works, please let me know about it!

Raid Double Control Large Roach Baits Worked for Me

4

**Raid Double Control Large Roach Baits** worked for me. I just needed to see one roach in my kitchen and I was headed for Wal-Mart to get some baits. I live in the South, and roaches are very common around here. I actually had allergy testing done years ago that showed I'm actually allergic to the pesky animals. That was back in my college days when I lived in the Roach Motel, or dorm room. **What I like about Raid Double Control Large Roach Baits:** - They are easy to use--I have an 8 pack (only needed one!). They are connected, so all you have to do is break them apart. - They don't have an odor. - They work quickly--I haven't seen any more roaches. **What I don't like about Raid Double Control Large Roach Baits:** - They were a bit pricey, but I guess the people who make these things know that people who are on a roach killing mission want something that works. - I have small kids, so I'm always concerned with safety issues with any type of poison. **My Viewpoint:** Raid Double Control Large Roach Baits work quickly and are easy to use. The price is a bit high, but I'm glad I haven't seen any more roaches at my house. My main suggestion would be to offer a 4-pack and to add some sort of symbol on the top to indicate that these should not be touched.
