The Bottom Line: Purex Natural Elements is an affordable plant-based, natural laundry detergent that is hypoallergenic and dye-free. Its ingredients are naturally sourced and the fragrance comes from natural extracts. The Citrus and Aloe scented variety smells absolutely awesome. Unfortunately, it fails to remove sweat stains, and other more prominent stains, so I would only recommend it for lightly soiled laundry. Performance I love the fact that this detergent is considered a "Green" laundry detergent. I try as best I can to reduce my impact on the environment, and whenever I can, I do use natural products. I have used several, much more expensive "Green" detergent, and I have yet to find one that matches the cleaning power of non natural laundry detergent. This Purex Natural Elements detergent is right on par with other natural detergent as far as cleaning powers goes, and even though it does a good job of freshening up and getting rid of bad smells and every day dirt on clothes, it really did not do very well when it came to taking out sweat stains on my husband's undershirts, especially in the armpit area. I also had some clothing that had an olive oil stain, and a red wine stain, and both stains remained on my shirt after using this detergent. I was hoping this Purex Natural Elements detergent would be the miracle green product that I would able to switch to for good, but it does not perform well enough on tougher stains. I would happily recommend it whenever you have lightly, or normally soiled clothing and towels. It does a great job of freshening up laundry, and it does smell absolutely wonderful. It is also a great detergent for people who have skin allergies. Scent The Citrus and Aloe scent is absolutely wonderful, super clean and fresh, and if you like citrus based scent, you will love this detergent!

I've used this Purex washing detergent on a few occassions. I oftentimes find it on sale, and will buy it on those occasions. It isn't the best out there, but it sure isn't the worst either. You can tell that your clothes are clean after washing in Purex, but I do not recommend it to be used for those tough stains. In my experience it does not handle them very well. The Citrus & Aloe smell is very nice. It is invigorating yet relaxing, and the great scent is left on the clothes for at least a couple of days after washing. This is a smell that I have seen only with Purex, so there is an advantage there. I like Purex, and this smell is definitly one that you won't find anywhere else. Try it out at least once on those everyday clothes that aren't extra dirty. Performance The Purex detergent cleans but it is not very useful on deep down stains. Scent Citrus and aloe is a great smell, and Purex is certainly unique on this one! You will love it!

I enjoy buying new cleaning products and testing them at home. A few months ago I bought Purex Natural Elements Laundry Detergent - Citrus & Aloe and used it on the laundry. My first reaction to it was that it smells great. It really smells wonderful and when I used it on the colored load of laundry, the clothes came out smelling great, but they weren't very clean. I then decided to use it on the white load of laundry, thinking that maybe it will clean better when it was mixed with the bleach. When I took the clothes out the washer machine, again they were smelling great. The smell of Purex Natural Elements Laundry Detergent - Citrus & Aloe over powered the smell of the bleach and the clothes were smelling wonderful, and it did a better job cleaning the whites than the colored, just like I thought. I guess mixing it with the bleach was a good idea. Purex Natural Elements Laundry Detergent - Citrus & Aloe is a bit expensive so I will only be purchasing it when it goes on sale, and I will only be using it for the white wash, other than that, I would not use it when washing colored clothes because it did not do a good job.

I was in the grocery store and decided to try a new laundry detergent. I normally purchase Tide because of its cleaning power and scent. I opened the cap to smell this and was amazed. It smelled so good! I was sold as far as scent went. The price was pretty cheap so I wasn't expecting a miraclr as far as cleaning went but I figured I would give it a try. I washed a fairly large load of my two year olds heavily soiled clothes (food stains, juice stains, washable marker and dirt stains). I could smell tue detergent all throughout my house for the rest of day after washing and drying. Tue scent is amazing. It compared very well to Tide and took out every stain I put it up against. Will definitely purchase again and may even replace my normal detergent. Great price and great product. Performance Cleaned as well as higher end, pricier detergents. Scent Scent was great, lingered even after clothing was washed, dried and stored.

As a stay at home mom I am always constantly looking for ways to save money and stretch product use. The price was eye catching a cheap but not dirt cheap, figured I'd only lose a couple bucks if it didn't work. The smell is a wonderful smell I absolutely loved the fresh light scent. But once it was put to the test it feel short. Performance As a mom to 3 things get messy and I feel it didn't do it's job. The more cleaner clothes came out okay, but anything with stains were still there after the wash. I even had to double up the amount of soap because it just didn't seem to produce any bubbles. So I would say it might work if you are a neater person and don't get your clothes to dirty. Scent I loved the scent of this soap. It had such a fresh, light, refreshing scent. I am big on scents so that is one of my main deciding factors. The clothes even smelled good afterwards although it didn't really keep well, but hey with 5 of us we go through some clothes so it really doesn't sit long.

This product should have been recalled years ago! After suffering horrible chemical burns I looked it up online and discovered many similar complaints dating back as far as 2008. I have never had an allergic reaction to any detergent in my life but after wearing a shirt laundered in Purex Natural Elements (Ultra) in the Citrus & Aloe fragrance, my arms became covered in itchy hives. By the next day they were so bad they looked and felt sunburnt. Very hot to the touch and gave me chills off and on just like a sunburn, it was horrible! If you have had a reaction to this product, PLEASE report it to the Consumer Safety Product Commission! The website is SaferProducts dot gov Otherwise there will never be a recall and the company (Dial Corporation manufactures this) will not know to eliminate whatever chemical(s) are harmful.

A capful or less is all you need to get laundry clean and even though the detergent produces a good amount of suds, it rinses out well with a single rinse cycle. Purex Natural Elements Citrus and Aloe has a nice scent that remains on clothing, but not in an overwhelming way. The one quality that many will love is the the all- natural composition and added aloe because they are very safe for skin. Even toddlers will have no issues if they wear clothing washed in this detergent. It is safe for most anyone and its lack of harshness is one of its key qualities. There is one other nice quality of Purex Natural Elements Citrus and Aloe and it is the one that usually attracts attention from the start. That would be, of course, the price. It is one of the least expensive ddetergents on the market and also one of the better among the cheaper brands. Bottom line: My bottom line viewpoint on Purex Natural Elements Citrus and Aloe is that it rates as one of the better budget priced brands with a nice scent, good cleaning ability, and gentleness to the skin. With a price so low- less than half the cost of the popular big nake brands- it is definitely worth a try. This detergent should stand out from all others. It is the only detergent I can find that does not smell like perfume. I have a severe sensitivity to smells and thank goodness for citrus and aloe because I am not forced to use unscented detergent any more!!!! My clothes are just as clean as any other product! I have been using Purex products for years. I tried them at first bcause they were a good value but found they also were a good product. I like all of the fragrences but mostly use the FREE due to my grandchildren have allergys. i will continue to use Purex in the future.
