Inexpensive good iron

5

I bought this iron a couple of months ago when needing to replace what I had as cheap as possible. I am not one that enjoys to iron but do when needed. I feel that it works better than the old one I had and I know it was a more expensive one. I have used it several times a week and have had no trouble with it at all. I iron several different weights of fabric and I like the fact that it has several different settings. I also like the fact that if I have water in it to steam when needed the water does not leak when you are not using steam. A big pet peeve of mine. I do not like to be ironing and then my clothes getting wet and ending up with spots from where they dried again. It has a good length of cord so it works nicely for me in the area I use to iron. I would definetly recomend this iron to someone who needed a new one for every day use or even just a back up one to have. I am very pleased with the quality of this product. I would definetly buy this product again.

Great Iron

We've had our Proctor Silex for several years and very happy with it. It gets very hot, very fast and irons nicely. We can put water in it for a nice steamed effect. We sometimes use spray starch, but it's mostly unnecessary for most items we iron. It's really just an all around good solid iron that has never had any problems and I don't expect it will for a long time to come. It will probably be the only iron we will ever need. We are also happy with the name Proctor Silex. They seem to be very honest solid company. We haven't owned other irons to compare it to, but I would suspect that it is one of the best out there from the experience I've had with it. Let's just say, in today's busy world, I look for something easy, fast and convient to use and my Proctor Silex fits the bill. Not that other irons wouldn't do just as well, they might, but I do know my Proctor Silex does. I give it 2 thumbs up.

I am reviewing the **Proctor Silex traditions**, which i recently bought for my work cloth. I hate to iron, I always said i would never be one to iron, but my new uniform at work easly wrinkles when you wash them.  I bought this iron and I dont really care for it.  Not because it a iron, but because as soon as you turn on the steam setting as soon as you sit it up to readjust what you a ironing it leaks and gets all over you cloth and ironing table.  Other then that it does get the wrinkles out, but only if you use the steam setting, which as i just told you about cause water to get all over the place.  It does it get hot pretty quickly and it is light weight and i can store it about anywere I choose because of it small size.  I guess it would depend what you need the iron for, but because i do need the steam setting, i am considering going out and buying another one that won't leak all over everything.  I not just talking about a drip or to in kinda poors out.
