I have been using this Procter Silex Meal Maker Sandwich Toaster for over 3 years now. Initially, I did not like it. That was my mistake though, I did not follow the instructions properly. You need to let the toaster heat up once before you start using it. Patience is the key! Green light shows its ready to be used, put in the sandwich recipe, close the lid, let the green light go off and there you go! A crispy is sandwich ready to be eaten. The inside is non stick, you can work with little oil to no oil at all. Cleaning up is super easy, let it cool and wipe off with a clean cloth. Who doesn't like sandwiches? I use this toaster almost every other day to make grilled sandwiches. spray some oil in case you are using cheese in the sandwich. The only drawback is, sometimes clutch gets stuck. Overall it is a good buy, if you are looking for a durable and smart looking toaster for your kitchen top. I recommend this product!

My dorm came with this device and I've used it for several semesters. This is a very cheap basic toaster that makes panini sandwiches. It does very basic work, and I've used it occasionally but not all the time because it does make it hard for the cleaning to occur. If you stuff the sandwiches too much, the filling can spill and then it becomes a nightmare, especially when you have exams to study for and a college social life to adhere to. Otherwise, it does do a decent job. Sometimes though the bread can come out soggy because of the steam that may be present. The steam does get trapped, so not always will you get a nice restaurant quality crunchy toasted finish. Half of the time, I would say that it does come off a bit soggy. I don't think you can buy this product anymore, but be aware of that. Ease of Cleaning Can be a bit messy so when you first use it know the limit and stay within it. Because the sauces, or cheese that you use can leak out

After this I will never be able to eat a a sandwich from the toaster again! lol This machine is very nice. I do not have any real issues with it except for the fact that it is a little bit hard to clean. If you have cheese on it, the cheese with ooze out sometimes out of the sides and or back of the machine and that makes it pretty hard to clean because the cheese hardens very quickly and gets stuck in hard to reach places. If the cheese sticks on the inside you have to be careful what you use to scrape it off so it doesn't scratch the inside. I've tried using spray of butter for it not to stick but it still does. But other then that there is never a time that the sandwich has not come out perfect. No issues so far with it burning since it tells you when the sandwich is ready and it does toast evenly which is a plus...no soggy areas. Great for kids too. My son loves grilled cheese but loves it more in the machine and it is healthy too since you don't need butter like you do making grilled cheese in a frying pan. I recommend this :)

I normally make my grilled cheese on a griddle, but it never seems to melt all the cheese. My in-laws bought this for my husband and I for Christmas and I love it! It melts the cheese and makes it gooey! It only takes five minutes or less also! My one complaint is that it turns out really flimsy and is not crispy like when we make it on top of the stove. My 1 1/2 year old will not eat the ones in the sandwich maker because of this. I like that it is really easy to clean also. I am a neat freak and want somethin that is quick and easy to clean and this product fufills this! All I need to do in order to clean this is take a dry paper towel and wipe it down. Just make sure you spray it real well before you use it! The cheese though may leak out so don't use to much either!

I had always wanted one of these! Last year for Christmas, my parents bought me one. The inside is non-stick finish and is easy to clean too! You can make some really great grilled cheese sandwiches in it. Some other things you can make with it are : french toast, egg omelets ( with or without veggies added), and ham & cheese sandwiches! First, you spray the inside with a coating of butter spray. Second, you need to close the lid and lock it. Third, you plug it in and wait for the red light on the outside to turn green. Then you open it and put in the recipe( sandwich) you want. Close it back up and wait again for the green light to flash/go off. And presto, it's done! This is a great small appliance to have when you have small children and need something quick for them to eat! Or you may want this to take to the summer camper/cabin to make things easier( no pots to clean). Everybody would enjoy having one of these on hand!

I got this Meal Maker sandwich maker as a wedding gift, and I thought it was a pretty silly gift at first, but I actually like it now. It's fun to make hot sandwiches, and it forms them into neat little triangles. It is easy to use and easy to clean. I usually put a little butter or Pam down first so nothing sticks to it. There is a light on the sandwich maker to show you when it's ready, and it heats pretty quickly. I guess you could just as easily make a hot sandwich on a pan on the stove, but there is something special about having a nice little pocket sandwich with perfectly melted cheese in the middle. It's one of those kitchen appliances that no one really needs but is fun to have around.

This sandwhich toaster was given to me as a birthday gift. I thought it was a strange gift and would probably never buy something like this on my own. Now that I have used this sandwhich maker for awhile, I cannot believe how much I use it. Its most obvious use is to make grilled cheese sandwhiches. My wife has also used this to make pigs in a blanket, hot ham and cheese pockets, and snack cakes for my four children. I use it to make bacon and cheese omelts for breakfast. I have no problem with cleaning this grill. Usually I spread a little butter or spray some PAM in the grill and this makes clean up easy. Just run a spatula over the grill and most leftover food slides right off. My only complaint about this machine is that sometimes the sandwiches do come out a litle soggy. Overall, this is a nice, cheap sandwhich maker that you can find a lot of uses for in your household.

As a college student that used to live in a house with 12 girls, this gadget was put to good use. It was very inexpensive and as soon as I brought it home, everyone in the house was constantly using it. It is definitely durable enough for constant usage and it works great! When I have a limited amount of time and yet I want a tasty meal, this is an excellent option. Sandwich ideas that are favorites in my household: Grilled cheese, Reubens, Rachels, pizza sandwich (pizza sauce and cheese), veggie sandwich with eggplant, and my personal favorite: a grilled peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwich. I love how easy it is to make a quality sandwich. Clean up with this product is very easy. It would be nice if there were removable plates like some George Foreman grills, but there are not. So I usually just take damp soapy rag and wipe it down. It works well. Bottomline: great little addition to any kitchen for a low price!
