The Proctor Silex Cool Wall two slice toaster was one of the only cool wall toaster for sale at our local store. I really like the idea of a cool wall toaster, because I have small children. This is a basic toaster with limited features. Mine quit working well after six months. I did not replace it with the same toaster. Toasting Evenness I did not find this toaster to toast bread evenly. Even at the very lightest setting toast would often come out dark or have one corner not toasted at all. Safety I give this toaster a nine for safety strictly because of the cool walls. The outer walls of the toaster remained cool even on the highest setting. Ease of Cleaning This toaster has a crumb catcher in the bottom but I did not feel like I could get it clean enough. The toasters catcher would have to be dumped more often than I liked to keep debris from building up in the bottom. Design This is a basic toaster that looks nice on any counter and fits well in the cabinet.

I purchased this toaster few years back after reading good reviews of the product. The product design looked good and since it was black in color I purchased it white colored products fade after sometime and looked discolored. The toaster worked very well in the start and it was very easy to clean the exterior of the toaster but I could not manage to clean the interior portions of the product. The product has a cool-wall exterior, an auto shut off, an automatic toast boost and is very light in weight. Within about three months of using it, the product stopped working properly and the bread would not get toasted and would pop out just came out as it was earlier. I had to make several attempts to toast the bread but sometimes it used to toast just one side of the bread or not toast it at all. If the product was ON for more than 5 minutes, I used to get an unpleasant burned smell from inside the product and so I decided to replace it instead. The product is not durable at all and not worth purchasing.

I bought a new toaster because mine wasn't performing very well anymore after about 20 years. I knew this one was worse after the first week of using it. Toasting Evenness The darkness is different almost every time. Safety It sparks occasionally when the toast pops up. Ease of Cleaning Easy open tray. Durability It lasted only a few months before needing replacement.

It does it's job not the best but it does toast the bread which is all I need. I'm not sure why I spent so little on a toaster but for some reason cut corners on spending a lot on a toaster. Toasting Evenness It doesn't toast the edges mostly around the center of the bread. Safety I haven't had any safetly issue with this toaster. I don't have young child that could burn themselves, but the outside does get warm. Ease of Cleaning not really that easy to get the crumbs from the bottom tray . Durability hmm I have to hit the level multiples time to keep the bread down. It is kind of quirkly works sometimes other times it doesn't. Design Since it doesn't work all the time I am not giving high marks for the design.

This toaster is relatively easy to use, just like any other toaster, you pop in the bread, push the button, and then wait for it to pop back upwards. Since I don't use it as much and I put it in storage, afterwards when I went back to get it out, the sides of the toasters were not of a metal color anymore, more like metal starting to rust....I'm not sure why.

I love my Procter Silex Cool Wall two slice toaster it is over two years old now and works as great as the day we bought it. On the other hand it is hard to keep the outside looking clean and shiny. The openings for bread are rather small so toasting bagels is a little bit of a challenge. The sides also get very hot to touch and an actually melt anything that is sitting too close or even burn your skin. We are a family of five I really should have bought a much bigger one so I'm not standing at the toaster all morning. The toaster was very affordable and does serve it's purpose I just wish it served it's purpose better. I would buy this brand again and have recommended his toaster to others, I just don't think its the best toaster for us.

The Proctor Silex Cool Wall 2 Slice Toaster is a good, everyday toaster. The exterior of the toaster stays cool to the touch, but there is exposed metal at the openings, so it's not totally kid-friendly. The openings aren't super wide so you can't really toast large bagels like you would get from a bakery, but it's big enough to toast Sara Lee bagels that are cut in half. The openings are also a little short so while it does fine toasting regular sized sandwich breat, if you have large slices from a sourdough round or a similar bread you have to toast it on one side first, and then flip the bread around and toast the other side. It does toast quickly and I rarely go over the 2 setting (out of 5 for darkness). There is a small crumb tray that sits under the bread opeinings, that slides out for easy cleaning. Overall a good toaster for the price.

What's there really to say about a toaster? You'll often find a lot of toasters (and gerneral kitchen applicances) that have become so over done with extra settings and buttons, that doing something as simple as toasting can become more of a hassle then it's worth. With this toaster you don't get any of that. It's simple, it's meant to be simple. The design is nice and sleek. There's no overuse of buttons and extra ranges for this and that to fill the front/side of the toaster with. The heating works fine. Toast and other things are toasted fairly even on each side. Nothing different relaly. My only complaint is that sometimes when you go to push up on the lever to raise something early you can slip or accidently hit a part that might be a bit hot. Overall a great solid no frills toaster for a good cheap price, great bang for your buck.

After going through expensive toasters that didn't last long, I got the Proctor Silex 22608 Cool Wall 2-Slice Toaster. For an inexpensive model, I'd call it average. One the positive side, it's still working after a year, but it has drawbacks. The slots are advertised as wide, but I've never been able to fit any brand of bagel into it without having to squish the bagel down. And a squished bagel is just wrong, to this native New Yorker.... The silver cover looks great, but is surprisingly hard to keep clean and shiny. The control wheel that controls how light or dark you want your toast is hard to figure out - it's not evenly calibrated so that only one click can result in a large jump from medium toast to burnt toast. And finally, it never seems to clean thoroughly. The bottom pops open, but there are still crumbs stuck in the oven that are hard to get out.

I needed a toaster that was at first inexpensive, basic in fuction and apperance and was able to toast a variety of items.For someone who is looking for a plain toaster that works well without costing a fortune this appliance fits the bill. It is small enough to store on a cupboard shelf when not in use. I bought this item and have good results toasting bread , frozen waffles and with a little adjustment small pankakes. Bagels I found you have to flatten a little to keep from sticking. All the result were good, except you have to keep an eye on the process. When I am finished with the toaster, it clens up well and back into the cupboard for the next time I need to toast something. Its lightweight and easy to handle which is good because I have problems with both hands. This is a good value for someone looking for a basic fuctional appliance that is not going to get in the way of counter space.
