Like Groupon, but specifically for kids and parents

4

Plum District is set up just like the very popular websites Groupon and Living social, they have daily deals and offers that are geared to children and parents. They offer a varying amount of different products, services and I excursions that you can choose from different age groups and locations. I have ordered a few different outfits through them and have been pretty much pleased by them. They came in a pretty decent amount of time, and I did save A little bit of money shopping with them. I just have issues with them because it isn't as organized as other websites like Them. It might just be because they are smaller and not as well known. Ease of Use Fairly easy to use. A little hard to go through offers, but overall it's pretty easy. Product Selection The product selection is good, and it's ever changing. Product Pricing Most of the prices are very reasonable. Customer Service Customer service is kind of a pain to deal with. They are not quick to respond.

Great Kid Deals, Moms Too

4

This site is very similar to the concepts of ones like Groupon and Living Social, however it's mostly local (you enter your location at registration) and focuses largely on deals for kids. Entertainment, toys, educational materials, activities, clothing, etc. There's also some deals thrown in for Mom, usually a restaurant deal or spa service. You essentially get an e mail most days with a list of the current deals, and then a day or two to take advantage of it. Typically the deals are 30-60% off retail value. Once those deals pass, new deals are posted. I have found this site to be really great for the family and kid-centric crowd. I frequently forward the deals to my mommy friends, but utilize a lot of them for holiday and birthday gifts for the many children I know. I may not be a mommy but I certainly enjoy the Mom deals as well! You don't have to get the e mail to cruise the site, but you do have to sign up for the free membership to purchase a deal.

Save on Gas by using this website for great deals on Kid items!

I have used this website and subscribe to their daily newsletter because I don't want to miss any deals! I have bought stickers for back to school time, clothes, magazines, kid crafting items, and more. I only encountered one issue with one vendor. I did ask Plum District about it and they basically told me to contact the vendor, they were not going to get involved. I have simply learned to google the item and vendor first and read their reviews before deciding to order through Plum District since they don't do that home work themselves. My issue was with fulfillment of the item. The vendor was so overwhelmed, I ended up getting the order 4 months later and they refused to refund my money. Live and learn. This was the only reason I am rating them an eight. All other items I have ordered have been as advertised with no issues. Ease of Use Easy to use and keep a credit card on file for easy checkout! Product Selection Good selection on children items. Customer Service See original comments. If you have an issue, you have contact the vendor not Plum District.

Offers more national deals over my local deals.

1

The deals in this site for Orange County, Ca is very poor. I frequented this site daily to find affordable and fun events for families with young kids. The tab for Orange County was divided into South, North, Central. So, you had a choice to find a deal in close promixity to your residence. There was an abundance of kid friendly for bounce houses, petting zoos and horse riding. Vouchers were sent to our email addresses to print. Now. most of the national deals require additional shipping for the product. Ease of Use Yes, it is easy to use yet I have to login in each time I leave the page. It is annoying. Product Selection Product Selection in the Orange County, Ca section is almost laughable. Currently, there is four deals, two for a Brazilian Blowout or treatment. It's sad to see the awesome deals from 2 years ago just disappear. Customer Service I never had an opportunity to need customer service. Shipping and Returns I never needed to use shipping or return a deal. I bought deals that offered visits to a certain location.

Website is a scam. Don't trust them or give them your business!

Don't give this website your business! I attempted to sign up with Plumdistrict.com several times and their website wouldn't even make it past the loading screen. I would enter my information and there would be a spinning circle in the middle of the page, and it would go nowhere from there. I finally was able to sign up on 12/1 and I purchased the $25 Target gift card, but never got any confirmation email. I emailed the customer service department about this and never heard back from them either. I went through several outlets of communication such as their customer service number, customer service email, and their Facebook page. I was never contacted and never charged on my card. I cancelled my account and still have to check my card to make sure I don't get random charges from them. It was such a disappointment.

I've gotten some pretty good deals from plum district.

Plum District is pretty much a discount voucher buying site like groupon or iving social, etc. I have purchased several deals at plum district all for other .com sites since no local deals were available for me. I have been very satisfied with my purchases. They were all buying a certain amount monetary voucher for 1/2 the face value or less. Plum district also offers more discounts of their own for their deals - sometimes there's codes out for percentages or certain dollar amounts off of your purchase which then makes for a very cheap voucher for you! They also have a refer a friend program which earns you discount when a friend buys a deal from plum district using your personalized link. It is possible to end up getting something for free. All the vouchers I bought worked on the various websites I bought them for without any trouble whatsoever. I have not had any problems and only wish the deals I like to take advantage of were more frequent! Recommended!

PlumDistrict.com is Bad News

2

I made a purchase through Plum District. It was a sign-up for a free item offer that shipped for free. I got my product, a tropical looking bracelet. It wasn't anything special. I wanted to buy a few other things from the website. One was a gift card to a candle store. The transaction went great, and I received my product. But, the gift card was electronic, so I didn't have to wait for it to arrive. The product was in my email inbox. I had read so many horrible reviews about never receiving the product. Those kind of negative reviews aren't uncommon on these type of sales websites. I decided to protect my money by not doing any further business with this company after a few friends told me their rip-off story. Many were left with poor customer service interactions and no products. Plum District wasn't available to handle their many issues. When a company doesn't provide products and has poor customer service, you have to steer clear no matter what.

I really like Plum District

5

I have only used PlumDistrict.com a handful of times. And of all of those times, my deals have worked out perfectly! I usually go on to find a deal for a bounce house play area near my house, and this site is one of the ones that always seems to have it. I have never had a problem buying my deal, printing my deal out, or redeeming it. Plum District has just always been perfect for my needs. I like to go to their website occasionally to see what other types of deals there are out there. It seems to have deals very similar to the bigger name deal-a-day websites, such as Groupon or Living Social. There definitely aren't as many with Plum District, but I really don't see too much of a difference as far as quality goes. I have read on here that many people seem to have a problem with their customer service, and I have never had to contact them in that way. I am sorry for those who have had bad experiences with Plum District, but I am not one of them!

Plum District has some good deals

3

I've used PlumDistrict.com four times for deals ranging from beauty products to tickets to events. I tried my first Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscription through a Plum District deal. I canceled it the next month because the particular service wasn't good, but I wouldn't have even tried it without the deal. The same is true for a small business beauty website that I would have known nothing about had I not seen the deal for that day. The voucher to this beauty site was definitely a leap of faith after the bad CSA experience, but I had a good feeling about the company, and I am glad I went for two vouchers because the products turned out to be unique and luxurious. I bought a fourth daily deal to a closeout tickets website, and tried desperately to use that one before it expired, but I was unable to find anything I wanted to attend at a price point I found reasonable, so I decided to take the loss of letting the voucher expire. More recently, like other users have noted, I don't find any deals very compelling. I don't have children, so more often than not it doesn't seem that the website caters to my interests.

Not as good as Groupon

3

I've bought only one discount certificate from Plum District and it was for a local restaurant. Other than that, I've never able to find any other deals that really interested me. They definitely do not have nearly as many good offers as Groupon. They seem to have more advertisements to actually buy certain products at discounted prices, versus selling discounted gift certificates to retailers and servicers. However, the purchase process was very easy and the discount coupon for the restaurant worked fine. I didn't run into any problems. I just think they need to find more popular retailers to sell discounts so that they can attract more customers. Since I couldn't find any good deals with them that interested me, I don't even bother clicking on their emails or going to their website to look for any deals anymore. I just go to Groupon only. It's hard to get a customer to come back to your website once they don't think the website is valuable anymore.
