Best Fondation Ever

5

This was my first time using this foundation, and I absolutely adore it. I found it in my local Ross dress for less store for 3.99 which is great because everywhere else it's like 10.00. At the time I was not looking for make-up, just shopping around and I came across it. I bought it because I like powder foundation and hate liquid. I bought it because I needed new foundation and knew that it was supposedly a good brand, by the name. It really covers all redness and acne up, and it appears as if it really evens out your skin! This product is great because it does not feel like you have foundation caked on your face, which we all know is a great thing when it comes it comes to the make-up that is on your face. An added plus to this amazing foundation is it comes in great packaging. I am in college so most of the time I just grab something and throw it in my backpack or purse as I am heading out the door and with this product I do not have to worry about it exploding all over my purse because it's really secure.

ahhhh...my skin loves me again!

OK, to preface this, I was once a Mary Kay junkie. I spent a year trying to sell the product. I LOVED everything they made. But I couldn't afford to keep up the habit if I wasn't selling anything. And I'm a terrible salesperson. Mary Kay had just come out with their own Mineral foundation when I realized I couldn't keep sinking money into the enterprise. :(Well, I've been searching for a mineral powder foundation product that didn't have crazy ingredients in it. My skin is very sensitive. I burn after 10 minutes in the sun; a dog licks my face, I get a rash. It's a pain in the butt, but what are you gonna do? So I try to buy all natural products, as they tend not to irritate my skin. I happened to find this stuff on sale at Walgreen's. (I also bought an organic wear bronzing powder that day, which I also love.) I thought, "Organic? 100% natural? That's got to be great for my skin!" So I took it home. I totally guessed at the color. It was either a good guess, or this stuff's *really* awesome!I'll admit that I was pretty nervous to use it. I've tried mineral foundations before, and they broke my face out like a high school freshman's. terrible. haunting. So, I was nervous. Breakouts can last weeks for me, and here I was, about to put some stuff on my face I was unsure of?!? Had I gone MAD?!?!Thankfully, This product delivered, in a big way. I absolutely LOVE the sheer coverage, that is somehow able to cover even an epic pimple. How can it look sheer and natural, yet still even out the angry red of a giant zit is just beyond me. But it does... beautifully. I was really impressed. Even after I wash it off in the evening, my skin looks better. More even, healthier. Physicain's Formula has a reputation for using out-of-the-box thinking to create effective products. They've done that again here. Organic Wear foundation is great. Now, like all mineral foundation, the coverage is slight. Some companies call that "customizable". . .And it is. Layering the powder is key. I usually only need 2 layers overall, and then I use a concealer brush (a stiff but soft, small makeup brush) to put a third, thicker layer on any "problem spots". Then I blend it all out. It's a natural, but even look. The only drawback for me is that it either wears off or soaks in after a few hours. I tend to be kind of sweaty when the temp gets over, say, 80 degrees. So perhaps that factors into it. I'm not sure. But after a few hours, my face looks not-so-polished. The makeup doesn't wear off entirely, but the overall look of it is affected. My face will look less made-up, more natural, but still much better than without makeup. And the coverage over my acne suffers. the redness becomes slightly visible over time.I'm willing to make the trade, here. Yes, the makeup wears off a bit as the day goes on. But I've got fewer breakouts. The coverage looks natural, and blends into my natural skin tone. With liquid foundations, I always looked like I was wearing a mask. Not so with this product.  Also the minerals act as a sunscreen! No more weird chemicals that are only slightly effective at blocking UV. **Bottom Line: as mineral foundations go, this is the best I've ever tried. I love it, and I think you will too. It's great for people with sensitive skin, and people prone to breakouts. Just remember it's not going to work the same way as a liquid foundation. :D**

I wanted to try and go organic, unlike most things that I use.  I started putting this stuff on my face, there was no coverage, the brush was not soft and shed all over my face, which was to be expected the first time i used it but the second and third time? This one is a no go ladies.

A perfect finishing touch without the toxic chems!

I'm not someone who likes makeup, but I have to wear it for work. In the past year I've taken the time to educate myself more on what companies are putting in your beauty products and not telling you about, and decided to switch to less toxic alternatives. I chose to try this translucent powder over their 100% Natural Origin Tinted Moisturizer. I was amazed to discover that I didn't need heavy makeup to look fresh and polished, and by using natural ingredients, my skin improved dramatically. The breakouts I used to get everytime I applied my Clinique foundation and powders have disappeared. My face doesn't feel cakey like it used to with traditional makeup. And I find in the absence of concealer, by brushing on a little extra over the spot with a small brush, the powder does reasonably well in concealing the occasional that-time-of-the-month blemish. I'm afraid some of the other reviewers might have misunderstood the purpose of this product. It is not a mineral foundation. It should not be used to replace a foundation, as it is just a powder - the kind you use to put OVER your foundation or tinted moisturizer to finish off your look. Therefore, it can't possibly be compared to mineral foundation, which is something totally different. If you wore this product alone, it would only serve to reduce oilyness and shine. The only con I can think of is the brush that it comes with isn't really sufficient in applying it, as it is small and packed too tightly. So I use my own large powder brush and it works great. This product does its job and without the toxic parabens and other chemicals other brands put in their makeup. I sometimes have to dust on a little more every few hours because I have very oily skin, but otherwise it stays on and doesn't get that melted look some other makeup gets. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to green their beauty ritual, or who has persistant acne, or like me- doesn't like makeup and wants to try something simple. This product, over the tinted moisturizer, makes my life so much easier!

Extremely disappointed in this product!

I bought** Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Loose Powder** one day on a whim. I love organic products and thinking I could have an organic makeup and hopefully do the same for me at a much lower cost than Bare Minerals was just too tempting. I will never be tempted  like that again!! From the first time I tried it I was disappointed. It just didn't cover the way that it was supposed to. In one container was supposed to be foundation and loose powder. Well it might be there, but it did not do what it promised. The coverage was not near what I wanted. I felt like I had to keep using a little more to get everything even and smooth. Then my face just felt, well, grimy, like there was a lot of grit on my skin. It was very uncomfortable to wear. Then there is the brush that came with it. To say the least it is a joke! It is too small and too hard to hang on to. It alos just didn't help with the application of the powder at all. A brush that comes with the makeup should be made for that makeup and do the job. Will not be buying from them again any time in the near or far future!!

This truly is the best makeup I have ever used! The quality is amazing and if you wait a week or two between you can almost always find it on sale at Rite Aid. This makeup does not fade and is great for your skin. Now, I would not even consider using dept. store makeup. I don't agree with any of the neg. comments! It has great coverage and a great brush! Love it!!!!!

Not a purchase to be made again

I try to use organic when possible so when I saw Physicians Formula come out with an organic line I got really giddy. That giddyness was gone when I actually tried the loose powder out. First the color was way too light ( I have really fair skin) so then I bought the next darker color and it was still too light, the next color was too dark. My friend had the same problem and she has a Medium skin tone. Since I couldn't really wear it because of the color not matching I don't know anything else about it.

This misleading product doesn't do what it says it will.

I bought the **Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Loose Powder **for several reasons.  One being, WOW, I can finally buy organic beauty products at Target!  Another reason being that this powder is supposed to have the coverage of a foundation and the finish of a powder.  Two products in one?  Wow I'm sold! I am so disappointed in this product, I'm not sure where to start.  I'll start with the name "Organic Wear".  It is very misleading.  Although this product is made with 100% natural ingredients, it is not organic - despite what the label tries to convince you of with it's Organic Wear name.  This product is only made with 10.6% organic ingredients.  For a product to be considered "organic" it must be made with at least 95% organic ingredients. The other problem I have with this product is that it doesn't do what it says it would.  The Physicians Formula website says: "Combines the performance and coverage of a foundation with the blendability and natural finish of a loose powder."  Um, no it doesn't!  It has the coverage of a powder with the finish of a powder.  They cannot claim that this product does anything like a foundation, because it doesn't.  The loose powder is very sheer and might help with shine to give a matte look, but it does not have any coverage to it. **The Scoop!** This product is totally misleading.  I would not purchase anything from the Organic Wear line again.  Actually, with this poor experience, I might not purchase anything from the Physicians Formula line again.  The only good thing I have to say about this product is that it is all natural and does work as a powder.
